If he were to sign a new contract it might not be that he's demanded money, just that the club has offered it along with other terms to suit his plans. E.g. a reasonable release clause if a Champions League/title-winning club inquire after a certain date, freedom to leave if Saints fail to achieve x, y and z. You don't have to be a greedy mercenary for money to help make your decision. It's certainly not greedy to ask whether your current club value you as highly as your suitors. But anyway, this claim about a contract has nothing to back it up yet.

If it's own-brand next year and Adidas have said they might be working with us again from 15/16, I assume the Adidas contract was cancelled but there wasn't time to negotiate a new/good enough deal with anyone for next season. After that Adidas would be competing with everyone else.

After Sturridge he's been the best English attacker this season. While the whole team's crumbled around him he's still delivered. Madness to leave him out. You have a point about playing two up top but I don't think we have the midfielders to justify leaving out Rooney or Sturridge. If Walcott was fit I'd think about it
