As if Rodriguez hasn't been nominated for away player of the season!
-
But it is a potential reason to trust or not trust their leader!

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/goaloftheseason Not sure I've actually voted though, clicking on the box just makes it bigger

We'd have to sign Yaya as well. Not that I'd complain...
-
I've just had a thought. If Osvaldo wins goal of the season, who's going to collect the award on his behalf? And what on earth are they going to say about him?
-
I know he's decent, but you don't often see him start unless there's an injury crisis. As I say it's probably just cause he wants to put Jones and Smalling together. Strange to think that Rafael is the only natural and eligible right-back in their squad.
-
Giggs is fielding two academy lads in his starting XI tonight - James Wilson up front and Tom Lawrence out wide - with another on the bench. Strangest selection is Antonio Valencia at right back though. I suppose he wants to give Jones/Smalling a try in the middle. We can probably expect a weakened team next week as well.

He, like many other MEPs from many other parties, says he wants to transform the EU from the inside. There are two or three single-issue anti-EU parties running in the European elections and plenty of Green candidates have that agenda as well.

I really, really don't. Their defending has been absolutely comical over the last few months and it wasn't great before that. They've had some solid displays but they've only managed eight clean sheets this season since he returned from injury. Krul saved them almost single-handedly in more than one of those games. He's not the worst player out there but he sure as hell isn't better than Fonte or Lovren. Osvaldo did very well for Roma.

They're still a better team, you know. Like, they have better players. We'll give them a real game but we could lose as easily as win. They have one of the best away records in the league and we haven't been great at home this season. They've got more to play for than us as well - Van Gaal will be watching and they'll all be desperate to put the performance against Sunderland right. Personally I think we'll beat them but it does depend on which United shows up. They were absolutely awful against Sunderland and have been poor on many occasions but they've put in some great displays away from home.

Lallana has contributed far more than the goals and assists which end up in the stats. He is our most creative player, the only player who looks dangerous at all times in every game, the player who gets double marked and the captain. His defensive contribution is immense as well. If we're judging a player's quality over more than one season I'd have more question marks over Rodriguez than Lallana. This is ignoring all off-the-pitch issues, which make Adam by far the least replacable and most important player at our club.

Not sure why anyone's put their two cents in for the President's Choice. It is, after all...the president's choice.
-
Bloody hell
-
Lallana is the heart of the team. He is barely replaceable off the pitch but off it would be even harder.

Am i the only one who thinks the club badge is naff?

I think it's brilliant. -
And lose his hand in contract negotiations? He'll want a good transfer budget and better personal terms. Committing to Saints before the talks have even begun puts him in a weak position. Staying quiet gives him leverage. This really isn't difficult to understand. Managers facing uncertainty don't declare unequivocal loyalty unless they're facing the sack, like Tim Sherwood. You may have seen Tony Pulis's post match interview last night. There are few to no press rumours about clubs coming in for him, but he refused to commit to Palace and made it quite explicit that he wanted the chairman to back him financially. Do we all expect him to be manager of Crystal Palace next season? Erm, yes.

Ward's a cracking player but Clyne's a bit better
-
Surprised that most football league clubs are in favour. Sounds like an awful idea to me

Guly pretty much confirms he is leaving Saints this summer
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Whereabouts dya know? Hope he wasn't in any of the 'clubs'... -
No player's gonna give him quotes. I'm not surprised some players are worried, they're reading the same stuff as us.
-
I never even notice Song 2 when we score at St Mary's, the crowd drowns it out. I only hear it when I watch highlights or on telly. I'm not bothered either way.

Osvaldo without a shadow of doubt. Besides the quality of the defenders, which others have mentioned, it was a hugely important goal in that game and our season. We were on a terrible run and that result gave us confidence that we could still swing it with the best. We played really well that day but I don't think we'd have found a goal if Dani hadn't come up with that. In hindsight it didn't make much of a difference for him but at the time it felt like the moment he arrived as a Saints player. There was a real feel-good factor after that goal. Lallana is the obvious runner-up. After that my favourite is Rodriguez vs Sunderland, but I feel like there's a couple of team goals I won't recall until the end of season compilation.

I honestly don't think Van Persie is a big worry, they won't have found a way to fit him into the team with one game to go.
