Coca Cola?

Pochettino and the players have all talked about him being unable to fully implement his style of play arriving midway through the season and that he'd only get the team playing exactly this way when they've had a full preseason with him. With that in mind what kind of changes in style do you think we're going to see - and are new signings going to shape that or are we just looking for better quality?
-
How far are we off a Top 6 place (fifth or sixth in all reality)?

Erm, a long way away and a lot further away than most people on here seem to think. -
I don't doubt it's true that Benfica have offered him the job but that doesn't mean he'll go. I don't think he will.

A miserable 5. When we expand to the 80,000 seater Pahars Arena we'd better have the club crest on the roof!

That's the worst home kit the Premier League's had for many years. Does rather put our complaints into perspective, doesn't it?
-
I think the gold looks really cheesy on that kit and would probably be worse on red and white. Keep the gold to the away kit
-
Well before my time but by all accounts one of the greatest players we ever had. RIP.

If you can accuse a Champions League-winning manager who doesn't want to take an assistant coach role at Southampton of being 'a bit choosey'...
-
What makes you think that our squad lacks passion? And what on earth makes you think that the man to instil it is Tony Pulis? Stoke were a lot of things this season but passionate was not one of them and that's part of the reason he's gone. I have no idea why everyone thinks passion is synonymous with tall centre halves and dirty tackles. We have an incredibly motivated, hard-working group who seem to like each other and work for each other.

Remember that Davis and Ward-Prowse can both play in holding or offensive roles. Our style requires a high level of fitness so I'd expect the squad to be a bit deeper, but in honesty the only player I regularly see fading off towards the ends of games is Lambert. He's fitter than he's ever been but that's where we might need someone

Crikey, that wouldn't go down well with the Palace fans. I'd take him but I don't see it happening. And surely we have the financial clout to get a player of that quality on a permanent deal?

"Must Do" Away Games 2013/2014. What ate yours?

I'll try to get to everywhere I didn't manage this season - Norwich, Newcastle, West Brom, Stoke, Chelsea, Swansea, Fulham, Spurs, West Ham. A return to the Etihad is also essential. Will definitely go to Hull as it's nearby but not sure about the other two promoted teams. We'll see I suppose -
Bad news, and not quite the 'keep calm and carry on' line that Cameron delivered in the wake. But we shouldn't be surprised!
-
You really are vile.
-
I don't know, I think it means just as much to the fans of the winning club but the rest of the country isn't quite so concerned.
-
A fair point, but people make more of a point about the cash we invested in him and the return they think we should be getting. I wonder if they ever think about the time and effort we invest in coaching the academy kids when they come to nothing?
-
That's no logic at all. Wise investment can get you great players for very little money, and we've seen several examples of that in the league this season.

We already do quite well in that regard, I don't think these global pockets of support have sprung up entirely by chance. And cynical as it sounds (good players as they are) that is partly down to signings like Yoshida and Emmanuel Mayuka. It was said quite often last summer that getting Mayuka - the hero of the ACN - ensured half the continent supported Saints. Looking across social networks and that kind of thing, it seems like a lot of foreign PL fans have taken to us as their second team behind the usual United, Liverpool etc. And it seems strange to us but in a lot of countries people will buy merchandise for their second or third team. But to answer the question, yes it's important. It's income, and in the years ahead money the club can generate for itself will be even more valuable than it is now.

When you walk home at night, are you afraid you'll get raped? This is not a woman's world. It's a man's world in almost every way and a lot of men, for some reason, feel threatened by women fighting to earn the rights that men have enjoyed for centuries. I should point out that I wouldn't necessarily include this particular case in that fight. On that topic, however, there are massive differences between the treatment of men and women in the media. Although it is shifting and we are seeing more sexualised, fragmented images of men this is what women have had everywhere they look, every single day for decades. Unrealistic body images, judgement for failure to adhere to it and solutions offered in the form of commercial products. And most of the time, even highly sexualised male models tend to be portrayed as powerful & aspirational figures rather than submissive objects of desire. Here are some good examples of the differences, and here

On reflection, white curved slightly further inwards would probably be nicer
-
I'd quite like to see something like this: With the white curved outwards and faded into the red with a gradient. If anyone could mock that up it'd be nice!
