  1. The thought of a penalty shoot-out struck me earlier. We're hardly overflowing with dependable takers, as we? Depends who's on the pitch but my running order would be something like this: Gabbiadini Tadic Bertrand (coolest head on the pitch for the first pen which could win/lose it) JWP Redmond/Boufal Davis (although one of him and JWP would probably be subbed off by the time 120 minutes came round) Long/JRod Romeu Yoshida Cedric
  2. Alright, thanks!
  3. Please, don't. Live and let live. I think Sunderland, Boro and Bournemouth will go down.
  4. Are they signed for? Bit concerned they might go walkabouts in my building if there's a Wembley logo on the envelope...
  5. Isn't that a bit like saying 'All those so-called dry days would have been a lot different had it rained'?
  6. Key quote: “Some clubs will want to see the players tested at certain arenas first." This is exactly why we secure great players then lose them. We don't unearth gems from under the top clubs' noses, we're the testing ground.
  7. He's got it all! Pace, power, good feet for a big man.
  8. Sorry, picking this up late, but I think age is the main thing. All the players who've left for big clubs, bar Lambert, had significant room for improvement. Besides, he doesn't have to be good enough for a European club to be a great player for us. He was/is perfect for our style of play, not theirs and neutral pundits have recognised that.
  9. “I’ve been in dressing rooms for 37 years and you could ask at every club in football, no one will have a bad word to say about me." Ah, but what about the good people of SaintsWeb? They've got some views. Interesting piece, thanks for sharing.
  10. I find it a bit weird that anyone can hate a football club. You have to admire United, but it would be mighty satisfying to get one over on Mourinho, who's a tit.
  11. There's a decent chance he will be, but not yet. You could tell the unique quality he had while he was here but he's still improving.
  12. Didn't feel real until there was a buildup thread on SaintsWeb! Can't bloody wait. I'd like to see today's team with Boufal for Redmond, though I don't know if he's best used out wide. Valencia will be a threat.
  13. Favourite accusation so far Raineri isn't under pressure, though. Leicester have very publicly supported him
  14. The Times today has Forster as our top earner on £90,000 a week
  15. Er, yes. I've never mocked disabled people, and neither have most.
  16. Put this on the banner.
  17. Too early to say. If there's tickets left after the window for members with five home games, the club will announce the plan from there. That may or may not be a general sale. The view's really not bad at all. Obviously you can't pick up on the nitty gritty but you'll be able to follow who's who no problem, so long as your general eyesight is alright. Also, I concur that the membership thing is a bit cynical but I didn't buy mine on the off chance we'd make a final. It was to get tickets/decent seats at popular away games, and it worked out pretty well.
  18. Big clubs were aware of all the other guys as well, I'm sure. They can afford to let these players go to smaller teams, sink or swim and then pay a premium for the swimmers. That's how they operate. (Also, the idea that we "unearthed" Ronald Koeman or Alderweireld is barmy)
  19. I've been wondering if there's something particularly special about this Bradley kid. Obviously they've done phenomenally well raising money and awareness for him and it warms your heart, but I'm not sure why he in particular has become such a star. Anyone?
  20. After two weeks of sweating it out, that efficient buying process felt like an anticlimax!
  21. Yes. Much better to let the bidders think he's still injured!
  22. Imagine how the fortnight's going to feel!
  23. Anyway...tickets. Not gonna count the dots but it doesn't look like loads have gone today. Think it probably will go to the fives as the club (presumably) anticipated.
  24. Bit much. I don't see other clubs as embarrassments when fans dress up (with one obvious exception...) and in some cases, like Dortmund's yellow wall, it's actually very impressive. I don't wear replica shirts myself but I think people should enjoy the football however they like.
  25. Really sorry to hear this, especially the shouting. Outrageous. Hope the club takes action if someone can film it happening or provide seat numbers.
