  1. Osvaldo was the biggest in recent years. Ramirez is up there too but mostly because of the club's status at the time.
  2. Looks like he demanded it at the 11th hour. I'd imagine that happens quite often as deadlines approach.
  3. Eh? Seems pretty most likely to me that '£3m in wages' is an annual figure. The 'tax free' bit is ambiguous, but £3m a year after tax is over £100,000 a week for the club. If that's what he demanded I'm neither surprised nor disappointed that we dropped the deal.
  4. Let's not forget that our loan target, Tasci, got injured as well. You've got to have some sympathy for the club that their gamble with Fonte didn't pay off*, but it was still a gamble. * provided we don't get anyone in
  5. He's an odd-looking chap, isn't he!
  6. Jesus wept
  7. Don't be ridiculous. We're boring and not much good but worst performances *ever*? Come on
  8. No, he's not. We were targeting a centre half who got injured. Despite that hard luck we are, according to Jeremy Wilson, looking for someone else. It looks like a big mistake to have let Fonte go without having a replacement in the bag, though.
  9. Well, at least we're still looking for a CB. Sure we aren't desperate enough to go for Sakho?
  10. Balls. Well, unless we had someone else lined up that'll probably be that, won't it? They've always said if they can't get their man then they won't go and get someone for the sake of it. Whether that's true of loan deals in situations like this I don't know.
  11. Would have been? What happened to Tasci?
  12. I'm sure they do. Whether they expect him to be out or are preparing in case there's a setback, going for someone on loan like this Tasci chap is the obvious solution.
  13. We don't know - it may or may not be in time for Wembley. That's the point.
  14. If they really wanted to cash in they'd sell the white kit, though I guess it might not be possible to get them turned around in time.
  15. Eh? We risk going into a cup final with Yoshida as our only centre back to have played more than a few games in the past two years. That simply can't happen, so a loan deal for a centre half, as the club appear to be pursuing, is the sensible option.

So we're wearing the white kit after all, apparently at the players' request. Still not for sale, but home shirts reduced to £30 for adults and £20 for kids. Wonder how many have already shelled out for the black kit especially for Wembley...
  17. A necessity, really, but we may not see him play.
  18. Have you spoken to the squad recently?
  19. More money, maybe. Or we don't want him.
  20. Assume that's 17m Euros, so £14-15m.
  21. I'd rather look desperate with my best player than the alternative.

Puel said three, according to the quotes on the OS. Let's hope that remains the schedule
  23. No, not at this stage. As it stands you need five home games for the membership to mean anything. If there are any tickets left after that, the club's said there will be another announcement. That could mean general sale or it could be another staggered run for members, at which point you might consider getting one. Chances are tickets will be all gone, though.
  24. We signed replacements. The issue is whether they were adequate, not the timing of their arrival.
