  1. Really sad if true, but that doesn't necessarily make it the wrong decision. I would share the outrage if they were floating along in midtable, but Leicester are in exactly the sort of form that gets managers sacked every year without us batting an eyelid.
  2. After Zlatan and De Gea I think Carrick is the player they most want in cup finals. Great news if he's out.
  3. Unfortunately he's able to hack it because they manage his fitness incredibly well.
  4. Rooney's not travelled for the Europa League on Thursday but hasn't given up hope of playing Sunday, as per The Times.
  5. I've always wondered why they don't include that in the oath of office.
  6. That about sums it up.
  7. Market Porter for me, subject to the opinions of my old man.
  8. There was a Glen Johnson to Barca story a year or two ago. I think they might just monitor every right back.
  9. Unfair for sure. Imagine if we got relegated for finishing 14th and Sunderland or some other dross stayed up at our expense! Cup wins can hinge on single moments or even bad refereeing decisions, whereas league finishes are always deserved. I'd give a CL spot to the cup winners, or 4th place if the cup winners also finished top 3. But then you'd occasionally end up with rubbish teams in the CL, which would risk us losing one of our spots through the coefficient. So maybe not.
  10. Spot on!
  11. That's a seductive idea but you'd get into all sorts of problems if two relegated teams made it, plus the guys who finished 17th or whatever. I really wish we'd give a Champions League place to the winners but I can't see it happening, the big clubs would kick up an almighty stink.
  12. There's no way they've chosen not to sell it. It'll be time taken to turn them around, but if we win I'm sure they'll flog em.
  13. Can't be bothered to find a video of the tune but it's a fairly common one in football, fast paced. Hope you can pick it up from the words. Keep it simple He's come to us from Italy His name is Gabbiadini woah, Manolo He's scoring goals at St Mary's His name is Gabbiadini woah, Manolo
  14. None of what you've said is wrong, but it doesn't follow that he's going to start this game. Reed's words were that he'll add depth to the squad, which is a phrase we've only heard used about Martina and Pied, from memory. If he's fit he will probably be ahead of Stephens in the pecking order for the rest of the season, but this final is a week away and has all sorts of special factors.
  15. So said every fan of every team. Clattenburg is very good.
  16. Let's not forget it will also be his first game in English football. For all his experience there may be a culture shock of some kind. Reed's quote about him adding depth to the squad makes me think bench.
  17. Are really running one? That's pretty impressive, considering you need to be a season ticket holder to get a seat at Wembley. Can't fault their commitment. (Unless it's a coach filled with people who've spent zillions on corporate tickets...)
  18. Posts like this make me sure he'll at least be in the squad.
  19. United are playing their first team out in St Etienne. Are we allowed to hope for injuries?
  20. Luckily, the club is staffed adults. Why anyone cares about referees is beyond me.
  21. Of all the things to moan about...
  22. Messi works really, really hard, man. They all do at Barca! PS saying you'd take Pochettino back is like saying you'd "take" Ancelotti or Guardiola or Mourinho. The guy is one of the best.
  23. Yes, it is! Clattenburg's a great ref.
  24. Given Barcelona are still the high pressing team I think they'd manage.
