  1. The whole 'When England Came Calling' mini-movie was fantastic. We've got the media team, the groundsmen, and the players! Very happy being a Saints fan right now
  2. Precisely, Shaw only got a look in because Fox was hopeless. If we'd had a half-decent left back there already, I highly doubt we'd be hearing about £30million bids for Shaw, nor would he be in the team of the year or (possibly) on his way to the world cup. Shaw was given a chance and he took it, though it took him a while to really get going.
  3. Can you imagine a Saints team with Lallana and Townsend in it? It'd be exactly the same, just with Townsend sat on the bench. At least Roy would renew his season ticket.
  4. I think Gallagher's done well so far. His header yesterday was a tough chance, ditto his one at Arsenal... and I seem to remember most people on here singing his praises after the Arsenal game? Saying about how he was pulling their defenders all over the place? And then a fair few people called for him to start over Lambert the game afterwards. He hasn't quite got the finishing down yet, granted, but his positioning is actually excellent. He won us the freekick that Lovren just put over yesterday, made Barry look like a mug on the halfway line last week, and he is very good at finding the space. He's a different kind of player from Rickie Lambert, who likes to drop back and isn't so keen to run behind defenders. I think we, as a team and as fans, have gotten used to playing with Lambert as a striker who drops deep and can pass fantastically, so it's strange when we've got Gallagher there instead. Personally I think Gallagher upfront with Lambert in the centre of the front three midfielders could be profitable. He's 18, for goodness' sake, and I know that doesn't automatically make him better, but he's only going to improve. A lot of this thread seems incredibly similar to some of the stuff spouted about JRod at the start of last season.

    Artur Boruc

Krul could possibly be pried away from the sinking ship that is Newcastle, although I would expect him to go to a bigger club that us; similarly, Hugo Lloris. I'm perfectly happy with Boruc as a first choice keeper, but the backup is woeful, and given our mantra of buying first team replacements rather than bench warmers, I'd like to see us splash some cash.
  6. David Villa? That would be absolutely ridiculous. I love it. Get him in.
  7. I think we should do our bit for the England squad - play our quickest players and the ones most comfortable with the ball to make Smalling and Jones look as poor as they are.
  8. What's the point in the swear filter? And forum rules, for that matter?
  9. Hull City are in Europe.
  10. Dzeko is class, I don't understand where some of the City fans are coming from when they slate him. 23 goals this season.
  11. Uninspiring game, we didn't deserve three points, we got lucky with Williams' cock up. Shaw excellent today, Clyne very good, everyone else mediocre, although Davis' ball for the goal was very good. Lambert simply did what he's been doing since League 1 - stuck it in the back of the net.
  12. Not just mine then!
  13. Gotta freshen up for his meeting with Brendan Rogers
  14. Lambert coming on in a second.
  15. Well done Luke Shaw, could've taken a tumble there but stayed on his feet. Even if we would've got a penalty there, I'm glad he stayed up.
  16. We are determined to get Cork a goal today.
  17. Mostly Cork on the right, Schneiderlin down the middle and Wanyama on the left, but they're switching around fairly freely.
  18. Good work from Gallagher, a Lambert-zone free kick on the edge of the box, taken by... Lovren? Just over.
  19. This looks good. Nervous start, looking a bit better now. Missing Lambert I think.
  20. I think if Clyne plays as well as he did last week, we'll be alright.
  21. Just make the ignore system work properly and this will all be done.
  22. Will this see Vic in the sweeper role just ahead of the back 4? I think both Morgan and Cork have good stuff to contribute further up - Cork won the penalty at Man City. I feel sorry for Swansea's midfield today
  23. Finally - Cork, Morgan and Vic all in the same team! Glad to see Dyer not starting for them too, he was a menace at St Mary's.
  24. Yeah, the one that also loves playing mediocre centre backs as out-of-position full backs. That's him.
  25. It's a free sign-up, but worth it, the quality is seriously fantastic. It'll paid members only next season though, unfortunately.
