He's a midfield Balotelli. No thanks
-
Willing to bet that we'll face them on one of these dates: First game of the season Boxing day New Years Day Last game of the season
-
Costa is a little ****bag so will struggle to win the hearts and minds of his fellow players
-
I really shouldn't get annoyed but it does my nut in when Alan Smith said this Chelsea defence is the best in the league 'by quite a distance'. I mean that's literally not true is it Alan?

Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?

Can someone tell me how the hell Newcastle have got 35 points this season? They are so **** -
Them and Wigan are the only PL sides we haven't beaten since our return (Wigan in 2012-2013 only of course)

I'm sure as hell rooting for Liverpool. Despite the disappointment of today, a win tomorrow for the reds would all but guarantee Europe next season which is a real achievement Then it would be our job to make sure we enter at the group stage by finishing 5th or 6th -
Anyone else watching Norwich v Boro? Boro 1-0 up but should be 2 or 3 How Norwich have struggled to go up with this squad is beyond me
-
Here's an unpopular opinion: Pochettino has done really well with the squad he was given. Kane has papered over a lot of cracks but it's no coincidence they score a lot of late winners
-
I'd like QPR, Leicester and Hull to go down Bournemouth, Watford and Brentford to come up please. Would be fantastic entertainment seeing how many goals they'd let in between them
-
Exactly, I'm saving up to take me and my two boys to Latvia or wherever we end up for a couple of days next year. I don't get people who think "screw that, we need to perform better at the Hawthorns next season" If we get there, enjoy the Europa league ride, wherever it takes us, because you never know when we'll be in Europe again

CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit

Anyone else find that a slightly narky headline considering the content of the article? -
CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit
lickierambert replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It doesn't include our profit from last summer's transfer window. With Clyne and Schneiderlin set to leave, I'd say we'll spend reasonably big again this summer -
No he hasn't. He may have played 32 minutes this calendar year, but he's started 5 PL games this season.

If Liverpool or Arsenal win the FA Cup, 5th and 6th go into the EL group stages, 7th to the 3rd round of qualifying (you have to win 2 two legged ties to get to the group stages) If Villa, Blackburn or Reading win, they and the 5th place get EL group stages, and the 6th placed team get 3rd round qualifying. As previously discussed on another thread you have to win the FA to get this, not just finish runner up, which is what we benefited from in 2003

No we'd go into the Europa League group stages. The point I was making that if we get 4th, don't be so quick to dream about playing at the Nou Camp etc, as it's still unlikely we'd get to the CL group stages -

Here's the problem with finishing 4th: we'd have to get through a play off. Here's the list of some of the teams that currently would be in that group: Atletico Madrid Bayer Leverkusen Lazio Sporting Lisbon Basel Red Bull Salzburg Marseille Besiktas Does anyone think we'd beat those over two legs? -
8 of that year's squad have played in the Premier League this year, which is incredible if you think about it
-
It would mean we avoid any play off games in the Europa League, which would be much more preferable than unnecessary games in August
-
Lallana's so soft. Not sure he's cut out for games like this
-
The problem for Liverpool is that Sterling, Lallana, Sturridge, Coutinho can't hold the ball up. It means once the pressure's on them, it's difficult to find a release. Utd have been brilliant so far though
-
Jesus Christ. Roy has made some weird calls but this takes the biscuit
-
I miss Jack Cork
-
Only Newcastle and the bottom 4 have conceded more
-
If you scratch beneath the surface of this Spurs team, they're actually ****. Kane, Lloris and Eriksen are excellent, but would any of Rose, Vertonghen, Dier, Walker, Chadli, Townsend, Mason or Bentaleb get into our team? I don't think so
