As its been said on here already, the atmosphere for the cup match sounded amazing, at least from my viewing. Doesn't seem to be anything new either, that our away support thoroughly outclasses our home support. Any thoughts on why this is, as I am generally curious?

These threads seem to pop up very often on here. However, it doesn't seem as though any actions are made to improve the atmosphere. Only the obvious problems are pointed out. So, why don't some of those on here that seem very committed to improving actually take it on, and work to do so. We could start some sort of fan group dedicated to improving the atmosphere, as I believe Leicester have. More threads on Saints Web could be started, to come up with new ideas for songs. We could start bringing more flags, banners, and even drums to matches if it helps. Honestly, even an ultras group could be beneficial, as seen at Palace and other clubs in the country. I am in the States, so the most I can do is come over every couple years and sing in the Northam, but obviously it would be hugely beneficial for our club as a whole to drastically improve the atmosphere.

A symptom of our premier league status I suppose. Certainly disappointing, but doesn't seem to be all that rare in the PL now, a club losing many of its vocal supporters.

Tbf it actually sounded very good for most of the first half from my viewing. Not much after that though, I do agree.

I don't often post on here, but thought I should express what I think. This attitude that the club doesn't deserve our support just due to a poor product on display is frankly ridiculous. Saints till I die is not just a phrase, but has meaning. When the club is struggling, shouldn't we offer more support? Isn't it at these times that our loyalty is what will make the difference? I flew over to watch Saints from the states last year, spending a fair amount of money, and Saints lost all three matches. Regardless of the three horrible performances, still the best experience of my life. I obviously would have preferred us to pick up some points, it was that I got to see my club play in front of me, and that I got to spend 270 minutes singing my ****ing heart out, that was what mattered. The losses only fueled me to want to save up more, so that I can come over again, hopefully to witness improved results. So why don't you all lucky enough to actually live in Southampton get to every match you can afford to go to, put your heart into the game, make SMS a true fortress, and maybe we can turn around this **** season.

Looking through the atmosphere thread, it appears that the general consensus is that safe standing would certainly help improve our atmosphere. I am surprised that nobody has yet to mention this, but apparently a petition was started this month for safe standing at St Marys. https://www.change.org/p/chairman-ralph-krueger-safe-standing-for-southampton-fans-at-st-mary-s-stadium/psf/promote_or_share?share=false

I live not a very far distance from Orange County. Was aware Chaplow plays for them, but not of his story. Excellent that he is doing better. I think I might have to meet him at one of their matches.

Was very poor today, and not that great during the home fixtures. What is going on?

Many are on social media claiming that Gary Neville made a sarcastic comment disrespecting our lights tribute for Markus yesterday. Anyone know what that's about?
