  1. come on then at least give us a vague hint- is it an in or an out? if its an in- give the 4th letter from his first name or something vague that we can match it if it proves to be right
  2. blackbox got infected with virus.
  3. yep this in a nutshell really. people think we don't spend, and whilst our net transfer is probably low- we have spent a fair amount on duds and then equally gave ridiculous contracts to underachievers which puts our wage bill around 9th/10th highest in the league- id say only the top 6, leicester, west ham and everton pay more- but they are nowhere near the relegation zone, and tbh id say that's where krueger and co expect us to be as well- closer to them sort of teams.
  4. maybe- we could probably ask for £15m to £20m for Obafemi if someone wanted him- but really how much would players like Sims or Reed fetch?
  5. thanks for the write up Saint-Armstrong!
  6. i've said something along those lines before, until MLG comes up with 'you shouldn't discount a whole league because of a couple of examples'! Obviously, there is both good and bad transfers from Serie A, but it has brought its fair share of rubbish onto the PL too. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/why-do-so-many-big-serie-signings-flop-premier-league http://www.squawka.com/en/news/10-serie-a-misses/433451#kGUR8CEokekAulLH.97 https://www.foxsports.com/soccer/gallery/transfer-flops-serie-a-stars-that-failed-in-english-premier-league-082515 ^^but it is something that attracts discussion... Anyways, thanks Gabbi for the Wembley memories and Swansea goal- I genuinely thought after the Sunderland away game that we brought a peach of a player, but injuries after that and Pellegrino hampered him and then there probably was the case of feeling homesick.
  7. pfft. you havent received a love and light PM yet
  8. ^^ you forgot Hoedt and Sims in the list too
  9. he might when money is involved... we pay very good money to both our deadwood and our first 11! why would Vestegaard have joined us!!! his old team are currrently 3rd now too! and then there is also the Ralph factor
  10. Tottenham struck a deal with South Korean FA that allows him to go to the tournament after their game against Man United on the 13th! So basically Son misses their first two group games but South Korea are expected to win those anyway!
  11. I'd imagine Fulham have a number of players who are on relatively low, Championship wages, so they can probably afford to bandy out short-term high wage contracts. We on the other hand have a number of players on high money including our reserves ffs, not to forget the 3 (or 4 if you count Les!) compensation packages we have had to give in the last 18 months. I don't think club finances are too healthy on the wage bill side of things, but we do probably feel that we can get more out of the squad bar the odd dud or two we have
  12. Yeah noticed that- the website came up blank for me so I assumed we’d never played them. Mind you, I’m not too sure many, if any on here, can say they went to that game!!!
  13. https://www.11v11.com/teams/southampton/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Accrington%20Stanley/ according to this we have never played them. time to make history boys. have a feeling this'll be one of the TV ties IF we beat Derby, and frustratingly cannot even book travel because of this replay, and nor do we know what day we might end up playing if it ends up on TV. but bring it on. excited!
  14. already looking at travel- wow it will be a mission
  15. accrington away!!!! if we beat derby
  16. gillingham gone already haha
  17. the draw is about to start- change the thread title to a reaction for our potential opponents if we were to win the replay??? come on, let's draw them wan*ers down the coast, don't know anyone who wouldn't be up for it. if not, gillingham away would be a nice localish one, and i've never been there!!!
  18. 2-1 to wolves, good goals both of them especially wolves second
  19. goal Wolves
  20. austin on the wing? interesting
  21. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-08-22/wesley-hoedt-signs-for-southampton Vice Chairman (Football) Les Reed said: “Wesley is one of the most promising young defenders in Europe and represents a significant addition to our squad. Having procured a Champions League finalist from one Italian club we have now added an Italian Supercoppa winner from another. “We believe he has all the qualities to play a big part in our future, and we have worked hard to bring him to Southampton, with a number of other high-profile clubs interested in him. "Finding a top quality central defender is difficult in the current environment and now we have six internationals in this position, both young and experienced. "Finding a naturally left-footed player is even more difficult. We have been tracking central defenders on our target list for the past 12 months and Wesley has always been at the top of that list, so it was important to act when the opportunity came.” “Wesley has proven his talent through his performances for Lazio, as well as the Netherlands, and we believe he can develop even further here at Southampton, alongside his international teammate Virgil van Dijk, as well as the likes of Jack Stephens, Maya Yoshida, Jan Bednarek and Florin Gardos. “With Wesley joining those players, we believe we have the right amount of quality, depth and flexibility at centre-back to help us achieve our aims this season.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hope that answered your question!
  22. Bertrand I think is back in training, Ings out for 2 further weeks, and Obafemi I think won't be available on the 12th but should be back in the fold for the replay hopefully.
  23. not really, i don't see leicester fans complaining about their win against everton 1-0, or other wins... it's about results, not whether you are bored or not- and he hasn't achieved them in fixtures that he is expected to- would Leicester fans have preferred a 4-3 defeat at Goodison or a 1-0 smash and grab win that they had on NYD? for me, the entertainment comes with the result. and same with us- he got sacked with us because ultimately results and form was dire- and it was right that it did happen- it would be same case with Leicester if it were to happen but my prediction is they'll give him the end of season like he saw it out with us (unless they really do fall off a cliff)
  24. When Rangers write that ‘they’d like to thank us for our cooperation’, is that in other word saying thanks for paying 80% of the wages? Anyway, forget that. Steven, thank you fot a wonderful 6.5 years, served us eell and good luck at Rangers.
  25. in the same way it was cr*p for us being 8th back in 2016/17?
