what would the hold up be- a case of Davis wanting his £60k a week rather than dropping down to the £10-20k region? can't say I blame him tbf
-
yep exactly. and so frustrating that big clubs can, not always, but largely get rid of their rejects because smaller clubs assume they could be good with game time, see Liverpool with Solanke/Ibe, or City with Iheanacho etc etc but clubs like us with rejects is awful and really holding us back. A part of me thinks maybe we should have kept the pay structure of 2012-13/2013-14, but now if I recall correctly we have players like Jack Stephens, Shane Long, Charlie Austin, Targett all probably on around £50k a week... Again, I think when we had Alderweireld with us he was only on £40k!!! this banding out of new contracts has largely it seems removed the motivation to improve but also harder to remove the deadwood...

who knows, maybe the Puel at home we all know so well will turn up and we win this 1-0? or scrap out another 0-0? Cardiff beat these lot at theirs, but equally City lost at theirs. both games had a wonder goal though. not sure who is capable of that for us bar Redmond but he used his one up today. I'd say JWP free kick but April Fool's Day is just under 3 months away.

Batman said he'd sh*t in his hands or something like that but that never happened either

Gunn/McCarthy Valery Stephens Bednarek Cedric/Bertrand Romeu Lemina* JWP Redmond Armstrong ST** *If Lemina not fit then either a 3ATB with Vestegaard in or Slattery in **Any striker that Ralph sees fit.

well the commentary is feisty to say the least!!!

well saw the first half, watched 2nd half until 65thn minute then had to go somewhere. Long/Austin no longer PL level unfortunately, Moi was awful, Targett not good enough, dunno if we should have accepted the £15m from Fulham- McQueen was a faster player and might well have been coached better under Ralph. Vestegaard also a mistake or two in him. however, 2-2 probably the fair result given the slice of luck we had with our first, and I'm actually quite looking forward to a replay- we can probably look forward to a light show again I just hope tickets will be dirt cheap, and the other plus is that PEH will be back from Everton home game.

tbh this is all a very clever ploy just to get PEH back in for our game against Everton!!! -

now if their second goal had come from him beating a man or something, okay fair enough, decent trickery or whatever you wanna call it, a bit like Redmonds for us. but that was someone in acre of space with all our centrebacks sprinting backwards and not even closing him down. good long shot but the guy had all the time in the world with everyone just walking backwards -

didn't do homework with Mo clearly, just don't see any physical or technical ability for that level. Tadic may not have been rapid but he had quick feet with a football intelligence to match. With Elyounoussi it feels like he panics and doesn't know what to do with it, nor is he quick- he needs time on the ball but you just don't get that here. -

well awful defending, on a par with Hoedt's own goals against Liverpool and City away but no complaints!! goal is a goal and i'll take it. -

nah, rather fans intimidate him and he ends up getting the basics all wrong! an own goal would be nice. can't wish injuries when he no longer plays for 'them' -

a 4222 I'd hazard? or a 4231 with Long in the hole behind Austin? Gunn Cedric Stephens Vestergaard Targett JWP Slattery Redmond Elyounoussi Long Austin I mean it is a very attacking line up but a very defensive bench!!! -

https://liveonsat.com/uk-england-all-football.php according to this there are a lot of channels showing this one, so fingers crossed a decent stream is available. safe journey to all those going! -
I do think, and it's probably obvious, that our policy is that we will not take a player on loan unless they are in our immediate future plans e.g. Ings/Bertrand etc etc... hence why Clyne/Wanyama are probably out of the question- can't remember now but did someone once say after the 2014-15 season that we made a mistake in taking Elia and Duricic on loan? or something along those lines?
-
not Porto, but Portimonese... having a good couple years, they're just in their second season in Portugese top flight and currently 7th now... (what Wikipedia tells me anyway!) 5ft 4/5 too I think, and probably mates with Yoshida? but apparently he is incredibly fast and has unbelievable stamina... sounds like exactly what we need but in the PL who knows if he will live up to the billing. as for Clyne, whilst we can't have a second loan from Liverpool anyway, I'd say we don't need him if we have Cedric and Valery. I'd take Clyne over Cedric though, because he is an English player who was quality when with us and really should have at least 3 more years in him- plus who knows what gear he'd be on if we came to us! However, I'd love to be all over Wanyama, think that is exactly what we need- also means we have 2 box-to-box mids in Lemina/PEH, but just 1 break-up destroyer type CM (Romeu)... Again depends all on his fitness etc and whether injuries have really hampered him.

blimey- this thread has offered some differing opinions- both criticising the other- but whats the solution? ideally what is it we want- a good balance surely? a mixture of those that want to sing and don't want to sing? we want more variety than OWTS but then chanting new things gets shut down? if i'm honest I'd say our away fans are fine. It is our home support that I'd love for it to be louder, when I went Wolves this year for the first time, whilst I thought the song they was singing was average, it was a very loud atmosphere before the game started and at the end.

isn't josh sims on a season long loan to Reading? so surely no chance he plays this Saturday. as for hesketh, I think he has been recalled/his loans ended, but I think he is injured so unlikely to play too.
