"When I was a young kid watching the FA Cup finals in Holland, it was always a special day and maybe if I have one of the dreams, then maybe it is a dream to be playing in an FA Cup final," said Koeman. "I spoke once to Ruud Gullit (about it), and he had one FA Cup final as the manager with Chelsea, and it was very special (for him). "But it is a long way to Wembley, we will have to beat a lot of teams, so it all starts on Sunday." "Every game we take seriously, we did that in the League Cup, and we will do it in the FA Cup." "We have to analyse the games of Ipswich to prepare the players," he said. "It will be tough against Ipswich, they are a good team, a strong opponent and one of the leaders in the Championship. "Every game we take seriously, we did that in the League Cup, and we will do it in the FA Cup. I hate losing, the team is good, the freshness of the players is very positive." "We gave the youngsters already some minutes in the Premier League, it is not different. I gave (defender) Matthew Targett the confidence and the time to play in the League Cup, but I believe in young players. "I don't like to change the side a lot because I believe in the spirit of the team and what we are doing now." “We would like to do well in the FA Cup, we tried to do that in the Capital One Cup as well. It’s not one game more important than the other, we go game by game and we would like to continue in the FA Cup – that’s our target. “Every opponent we take very seriously. I watched the last game of Ipswich against Charlton Athletic and I have to prepare for the players for this Sunday, there is no difference to this game than to Arsenal or Chelsea.” “If you have to choose between the FA Cup and the League Cup, maybe you go FA Cup,” he added. “But we took the League Cup very seriously, of course I would prefer to play in the FA Cup final but we have to fight for that. “It will be tough against Ipswich, they are a good team, a strong opponent and one of the leaders in the Championship. We have to prepare for that. “I don’t change a lot but of course we have to look to the players and the freshness of the players. Maybe we will make one or two changes, but we are in a good way. “We have confidence and that’s the best way to be successful. I don’t like to change too much.” On the injury front, Koeman confirmed right-back Nathaniel Clyne would miss out again, while he will wait until later on Friday for news on Sadio Mané. Koeman added: “Clyney will not be ready for this weekend, normally he will be fit for next weekend and that’s good news. “Sadio had a visit to make a scan in the hospital, later we will know exactly what happened and maybe to say how long he will be out for.” Based on that, hoping for a strong team

Meh. Leicester was a good result lol, especially after hearing Carver saying they would take this seriously because they haven't won a trophy in god knows how many years...
-
Blythe losing and Bournemouth 3-1 up!
-
Well the damn tv licence. What does that even go towards.
-
Well, might as well create a thread.... Plenty of teams playing today. Cardiff played yesterday and won 3-1 vs Colchester- and they only had 4000 fans turn up! We should have one of the highest attendances when we play. Hope for upsets of course, except when we play tomorrow! I really want to go to an away ground at a lower league club next round, providing we make it through!

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan
nta786 replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC · 11h 11 hours ago NEWS: @ELJERO11ELIA has been allocated the number 22 shirt following his loan move to #SaintsFC. Koeman: 'I know the player, I know the family of the player, I know the agent of the player. He’s a serious boy and he wants the chance to play football. He has the chance to play football at Southampton. “It’s a good step, a big step for him. He’s still not 100 per cent because he didn’t play the last few months. “But for the next weekend he will be prepared and he has to take his chance. For the rest, that is separate from football and I’m not interested.' -
Very true, well put. Though we did still have Mayuka on the bench in that defeat at the Emirates, and he even came on in the 81st minute.
-
Answering my own question: Nope, it will not be shown on TV anywhere. http://liveonsat.com/LJS_FT_br_eng_ALL.php
-
Anyone know if this game will be shown on TV anywhere in the world? I know it's a long shot lol, but worth asking.
-
Lallana vs Hull last season? Was pretty impressive.
-
I still believe it was him who tapped up Lallana and Lambert anyway in the England camp. So no thank you. **** can go to USA for all I care. Call me a child lol.
-
well its better they say something about the support rather than nothing at all, though i get what you mean.
-

only one that comes to mind is city... chelsea one, i might be biased, wasn't a pen for me, regardless of what all the 'experts' say... having said that, we did get lucky again today, gardos probably should have had a red. however, long should've received a penalty in everton game.
-
Remember when some of you were saying, 'give him a new contract with a release clause that only Champions League Clubs can take him?'... Well, I really hope Spurs don't make top 4 over us.
-
that was a deflection. can't really blame him.
-
City? Only mistakes he has made is the Villa one, and arguably Sheffield United, and United's second goal. He has been exceptional, and has made many quality saves.
-
Having an argument with a Spurs fan who claims Dembele is miles better.
-
I'd play Targett too anyway, just saying Bertrand didn't have that busy a Christmas compared to others.
-
If the price is right, and Koeman, scouts etc believe he will add to the team.
