Cedric playing them onside for City's 4th goal. Steve McManaman ripping into Cedric in the first half when he got into a good attacking position where he should have whipped a cross in... what does Cedric do... pass it backwards haha This has been good entertainment

Morning all, If someone could provide a link to a good stream later or to a good IPTV service would be much appreciated so I could have a look before 3pm.

Newcastle fans seem to think Adam Armstrong is a shoo in to score for us and that they’ll regret ever releasing him. I hope they’re right
-
Yep they have spent horrifically and for that sort of outlay they really should be doing better i.e. in around top 7 I'd say at least or competing for a European spot. They have a competent PL team though so I don't think they'll ever have the relegation fears that clubs like us, Burnley etc might have
-
because we can't afford the signing on fees, agents fees and add-ons that it would take to purchase a GK. also because Forster will have served 8 years with us he will be owed a huge loyalty fee and a bonus and we are skint so this has been included in the budget yes the above is a sarcastic post but there is probably an element of truth in there somewhere

Average draw but could have been so much worse so I’ll take it. Avoided a PL team ultimately.
-
Right when is the next round draw! Oldham Athletic, Cheltenham or Rochdale please!!
-
Did you forget the Sunderland game in 2014/15?
-
8-0!!
-
It just makes me wonder what have they been doing last 16 months to not implement these things!

Nice of DDG to acknowledge our stadium.

I'd like to see us buy one player at least that we have properly scouted, who we think can definitely be the next crown jewel in the £20m to £30m market. As someone echoed above, the ceiling is potentially higher. If a player in that market gets 10 PL goals 2 seasons in a row like Mane did, then no doubt we could sell on for £50/£60m to a big team. It would be silly to only buy players around that price, but I don't think 1 would go amiss. It's good to diversify the transfers and buy £5m punts too that could definitely be worthwhile or good squad fillers. Unfortunately, our trading model won't permit that though because it seems like we need to sell to buy and so I'm not sure will breach the £20m until we get new owners.

He isn't going anywhere guys, he was actually sat in the box right behind Block 13 with Broja and also N'lundulu in the Itchen South. He was very gracious enough to let me take a pic with him + said he had a light injury but nothing more. (I did say to him he was my favourite attacking midfielder over Redmond and Djenepo) and he gave a light smile. Didn't disturb him after that.

I've not seen Ings goal, what surprised me more is Targett on the bench for Ashley Young

Opta stats In their last league meeting in February, Manchester United inflicted a 9-0 defeat on Southampton, the joint-biggest Premier League victory in history, with the other two games also involving Man Utd and the Saints: Man Utd 9-0 Ipswich in March 1995 and Southampton 0-9 Leicester City in October 2019. Southampton won four of their last six Premier League matches against Man Utd at the Dell (L2) but have beaten them just once in 13 league meetings at St Mary's (D4 L8), a 1-0 win in August 2003 with James Beattie scoring the winner. They are winless in 10 home league games against the Red Devils (D4 L6), despite taking the lead in six of those games. Manchester United have recovered 35 points from losing positions in Premier League games against Southampton, more than any side has against another in the competition's history. The Red Devils 10 comeback wins against Saints is also the joint most for one side against a specific opponent in the competition (Man Utd also 10 vs Newcastle). Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 26 away Premier League matches (W17 D9) and a win or draw here would see the Red Devils equal the longest away unbeaten in English top-flight history, set by Arsenal in a 27-game run between April 2003 and September 2004. Southampton have won their first home league match of the season in just three of the last 30 seasons (D12 L15), and haven't done so in any of their nine seasons since returning to the Premier League in 2012-13 (D5 L4). Manchester United scored five goals in their season opener against Leeds United (5-1 win), while the most they have scored through their opening two games of a Premier League season is eight (in 2017-18 under José Mourinho and 2006-07 under Sir Alex Ferguson). Bruno Fernandes is yet to end on the losing side in any of his 25 away Premier League matches for Manchester United (W16 D9) and avoiding defeat in this game would see him equal the longest away unbeaten run by a Premier League player from the start of their career in the competition, set by Gabriel Jesus for Manchester City (first 26 games between February 2017 and December 2018).

It may not have even been a club decision but a PL decision - if it went on complete general sale then they'd have all been snapped up by Utd fans. That isn't to say there won't be a handful of Utd fans in the home end already, always been the case. I think personally what the club got wrong was the pricing. It's no surprise the Itchen South sold out immediately, it's a fair price to pay. The next jump up was £45 for one adult....going all the way up to £69 and then £89. We aren't a London club who can attract tourists and outsiders.
-
What a shambles, the least the club can do is offer some form of compensation - think of the hundreds if not more who's Sunday morning plans are now ruined because they have to queue to collect their season ticket. I suspect it will be hollow words of "we are sorry, this is not our fault, thanks for your patience". Now imagine if our first home game was last week, we still made a mess of it with an additional 1 week.
-
but don’t u know we are the only club with agent fees and delayed receipt of cash and accrued interest expenses that we need a net profit to survive. we’ve also spent £2.5m getting a new tv for the stadium and probably outsourced our season ticket suppliers which adds to cost. As for the £100m or so every club receives from the Prem - don’t ever dare ask about that because we can only buy if we sell
-
Agree with this too. Coufal cost £5m, there are bargains to be had around Europe. You can even argue what we have said about Vestergaard too. I’m sure LCFC fans don’t care. It’s a signing we need to get right though so if he doesn’t hit the ground running after 10 games or so I worry with a Bednarek/Salisu partnership.
-
but we do "gentlemen's agreements" right
-
We got a world record fee for a centre-back and even now it’s still 2nd highest transfer for a defensive position. It does mean something - it’s strengthened our hand for one more year should he wish to leave assuming there is no low release clause.
-
Only if there is a release clause - Grealish's did have one I think. Otherwise with this 5 year deal the power remains in our hands.

https://www.villatalk.com/topic/21872-james-ward-prowse/page/129/#comments Even the Villa forums have locked this thread up. Ultimately, he was tied down until 2025 anyway, so in theory would have retained his value until 2023... win-win for both parties this - he gets a payrise, and hopefully for us we receive his peak playing years for at least next 3/4 years Well worthy of it - it would be very satisfying if he can now go on to beat Beckham's FK record whilst in our shirt.

did you ever manage to find Mr Krueger's five pledges too? 😉
