A couple of signings to freshen up the team would be welcome. Like Brighton, we are a squad of primarily Division 1 players . They have done superbly to date and we have been punching above our weight. If NC is still able to fulfill his 5 year plan, then Premiership or top quality championship players are required to improve the quality going forward. COYR

Nice idea, but Bristol City lost at Coventry before visiting St Marys yesterday.

Saints 0 Bristol City 1 - Post Match Reactions

Just back. We lost an open and very balanced game of football, which will happen a few more times this season, and probably when we dont expect it, like Rochdale or Brentford last season. Brizzle kept possession very well throughout the game, but we created enough chances to get something out of the game. Brizzle seemed to have done their research on our patterns of play in the final third and David James thrives on the abuse. Credit where it's due, although how did they lose to Coventry? -
which strikers will we sign after Jan.1st ?

Papa Waigo N'Daiye, a dutch keeper and centre back cover -
Still got my AC Milan 'Bierhoff' fake shirt I got in Corfu and wore to the first game of the season. It was a certainty when we left for that holiday !!

Quality defender.

If we are aiming for the EPL, we now need better players. He is not a better player than those we have already.

Hardly like looking for a needle in a haystack, a nice and easy contract for BDO Stoy Hayward - and there go the points: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/firm_called_in_to_look_at_links_with_csi_1_3353964

How can Thorne be allowed to leave before the open top bus parade around Southsea Common to celebrate the success of the 1-1 draw?

Comical Andy ?

I think you'll find Harding was on the right post - logical for a left footed defender, after all he's not trying to stop the ball going out for a goal kick.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

The forthcoming window not only sets out the NC/NA 'stall' for the second half of the season , but the whole 5 year plan. Sadly I cannot see many of our current squad having enough for the Premiership. -
Right, that's the football out of the way for a while - back to the thread! Let's hope they have a cheaply put together side available for the St Mays game.

Good link, good perspective. With so much not going our way,the lads kept up the tempo and if SDR hadn't checked his run.... A far more exciting last twenty than the 'keep ball' to see out a win against Hull. And certainly beats losing to Pymouth and Rochdale. COYR

Fantastic run, including coming back from the dead against MK Dons. Pleased that the run didn't end in defeat, great character to salvage a point against a street wise team and a strange referee.

Interesting NA has referred to being in the top ten by January in recent interviews -managing expectations? Are we the real deal as current league leaders, or punching above our weight on a wave of promotion success? This is no criticism of anyone at the club, but a reflection upon the massive raising of our expectations over such a short period of time. As a newly promoted side, our manager and most of our squad have maintained a position, for the whole season to date, which is higher than many of them as individuals have previously achieved. But we are currently travelling away as 'the league leaders coming to town', with the opposition raising their game accordingly. 2011 has been fantastic compared with the preceding few years but without a few better players supplementing our existing squad for the first time since NA arrived, we may need to be patient for a few matches before we move on after the January transfer window. This will be when we see at what pace NC wishes to progress the five year plan. Great times again, all football team related.
