Man Utd fan with the masses in Somerset until I was about 10, then switched to Saints in 1992!!! Moved to Eastleigh in 1999, gradually increased my attendance at home games over the following years before buying a season ticket this season...

I wasn't doubting you Badger, just backing my info via the official source! It got me interested, and plus I have nothing else to do at the moment, the games were: Southampton 1-0 West Ham Southampton 1-0 Crystal Palace Man City 0-1 Southampton Southampton 2-1 Luton Town Everton 0-1 Southampton Southampton 2-1 QPR Saints then lost to Forest 1-0 at The Dell (5/7 at home?!) to break the streak.

A trip into the backwaters of the Official site reveals... Longest winning run (league): SIX (3/3/92 - 4/4/92). Longest unbeaten run: 19 matches (5/9/21 to 31/12/21).

I was looking this up earlier and I believe the record to be six straight league wins...

As soon as Jaidi made that stupid obstruction, I knew that the ball would end up in the net... after Saints had dominated for the first 20 mins. Personally, I thought Hammond especially was anonymous in the first half, but that may be down to the long ball game. All change second half though, as he (Hammond) was given more freedom to roam with Schneiderlin holding when Antonio came on. Never even 'saw' the second goal coming from that method/source either Connolly was everywhere, and I think the team that played the majority of the 2nd half will start next week, fitness permitting. Well done Saints

2.09 mins of highlights now on BBC... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8295508.stm

The highlights that will appear in the Southampton section of the BBC web-site are always more extensive, so it's likely (I would think) that Lambert's shot will be shown then. Sky also do a similar match highlights clip for each FL game from midnight tonight...

It took me a few attempts to book two tickets about a week ago, as the seats kept expiring Got there in the end though and I will be there

Went to Charlton as my first away game, and will be going to Orient. I have a taste for it now

From what I remember, the linesman was miles behind the play when Lambert's header hit the bar! I was looking at him to signal the goal but he gave nothing. Slightly bemised, I looked back to the pitch, and thankfully the ball was in the net!

We counted about six successive clearances from charlton players that just seemed to go miles up in the air and drop a few feet from where they came.

I went today and was very impressed with what I can now describe as a Saints team. Everyone worked their socks off and we were the better side in the first half and deserved to go in 1-0 up. Charlton rallied after the break and for the first 20 mins pinned us right back, but as the game entered the final stages Saints came back into it and almost snatched three points. Positives were the combination of Mills/Harding down the left, and Thomas again at right back. Fans were great and friendly in the away end. (my first game!) Negatives (slight), Lallana seemed to disappear in the second half, and the right side in general still seems the weak link. A word on the stadium and the police/staff around the ground - very polite and no problems at all in the local cafes/stores. In without a problem, and out too. Some of the seats were miniscule though and were obviously fitted without taking people that have legs into consideration!

Skysports are reporting that Charlton have declared its interest in the player... http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_clockwatch/0,23710,14896_5487992,00.html

Should be a decent attendance for the game, probably to be touted as against the "premiership newcomers Birmingham" in an attempt to boost the numbers... Unreserved seating is out the window I suspect also!
-
Seems so. No news on Saints' fate though?
-
I have always thought that you were only cup-tied if you entered the field of play. Not really a help, but there we are!

I was told last week that the 'corners in the itchen would remained closed for the forseeable future', so looks a lost cause I'm afraid....

Looks like it's a wait for the Virgin Media highlights now

What, you actually saying Howard "Collina" Webb didn't get this match? I don't believe you.

I was in block 10 row Y and the incident happened just to the left, one/two rows behind behind me One of the guys concerned was getting very abusive and it would appear the stewards in the locality took a while to get up to the situation, despite others located elsewhere noticing and watching it develop! There was one occasion when the guy got right in the lady's face and starting shouting abuse, and I mean he went nose-to-nose. She just sat back with a big smile, and pointed to the exit. Then he stood on the stairs to challenge anyone who wanted to take him on before the chorus of cheerio broke out in the block! It would also appear that someone had a go at JP? The two guys at the end were hilarious - one of them had the stewards beat before he almost collided with the other one! Another steward from the Itchen side joined in and took him out superbly and then they all piled in, somewhat heavy handed. I don't think the several stomps to the back of his kneecaps were necessary.

Ditto. The yellows were doing their upmost to revive him, and the Ambulance came out of St Marys as we walked up the steps to buy a programme. RIP and condolences to his family.

Still waiting for the goals from last night to be shown on SSN.... I did get to see Jamie Redknapp drone on about how much he dreads hitting his first shot off the tee at Golf tho'

I was told the Sheff Utd move was a done deal on Monday I'll probe my source again today
