  1. 1) He’ll probably have better clubs than us after him 2) We probably won’t pay the money needed to pick the best players off a rival But Pascal Gross from Brighton is absolutely mustard, Tadic-esque, almost every pass i’ve seen him play has been perfect. Was the highest chance creator in the Bundesliga a couple of seasons ago, and has gone on to be pivotal for Brighton this year.
  2. Cedric presumably going to be Portugal’s right back as well. They play Spain, Iran and Morocco. Him vs Boufal would be interesting!
  3. Must say i’ve been extremely critical of him the last two seasons, mainly out of frustration that he’s seemed undroppable when at times he’s been way below standard. However, in the last 3 weeks I think i’ve fallen back in love with him, i’ve never seen him so passionate and driven, he’s looked like he’s having the time of his life. Been an absolute joy to watch.
  4. Billy Davies didn't have a team that had just come 8th and got to a cup final. He had a team that had come 3rd in the Championship, full of Championship players and journeymen. He was also sacked by December, so he wasn't even primarily responsible for that awful season. Pellegrino, with the resources available to him, was the worst manager this league has ever seen, for me.
  5. Without doubt, in my opinion, the worst manager the Premier League has ever seen. He may work elsewhere, but certainly not in this league. Notable was Boufal's reaction after his wonder goal vs. West Brom. I personally enjoyed that, because I thought he'd been handled appallingly by MP, but nonetheless a manager should not stand for that. Look at how Hughes has treated Boufal after what appears to be a similar disagreement. Soft, out of his depth, painfully **** 'style' of football. Thank god for Mark Hughes (never thought I'd have said that 12 months ago).
  6. ------------------------ McCarthy ---------------- ---- Cedric/New RB----CB / CB------Bertrand -------------------- Romeu Hojbjerg --------------------- Lemina ----- Mane-esque-------- CF---------- Tadic For me, after the last few weeks, that's how we should be. I could take or leave any of the others. I don't think any of our CB's are that bad individually, but no combination could play together as a two. We desperately, desperately need pace with quality combined, whether that's Sisto or Promes who knows, but we need a Mane type. Again, I wouldn't be against Austin or Gabbiadini being our main CF, but we need to supplement them properly otherwise they're not up to it on their own. The turnaround under Hughes has completely reaffirmed by thinking all along that whilst there are definitely some weaknesses, our squad really isn't as terrible as it's looked, but we had the Premier League's worst ever manager dragon us down. Some key players added, rather than wholesale changes, and we could be back to where we were under Koeman.
  7. Not very imaginative but the old Jay Rodriguez - Just can’t get enough - song would fit perfectly. Swansea fans weren’t far wrong when they said ‘you’ve only got one song’, we don’t have nearly enough for our players. Liverpool have about 4 for Salah ffs, don’t reckon we’ve got 4 for all our players combined.
  8. I actually think we’re going to win today. I don’t know why, i’ve just felt it all week.
  9. Considering how much we bang on about player and manager loyalty, I think it’d be pretty embarrassing if we didn’t give Hughes the job next season. Before this season I would’ve never wanted him as our manager, but he’s completely transformed us in the 8 weeks he’s been here and saved us from disaster. The least he deserves is a crack at it next year.
  10. He’s fantastic. He obviously gives a toss about the club, he just happens to look miserable. Perhaps that’s because we’ve been **** all season? He still bombs on constantly all game, and has provided key assists this season. I actually have a feeling he’s not going to leave this summer as well, he’s been talking too much this week in the press that it would be weird if he was trying to get a move away at the same time. If he goes, he should be thanked for staying as long as he has, he’s been a great servant in a time when we’re used to players leaving after 2 seasons, and he’s been a superb player for us.
  11. Thankfully I can watch Jon Moss blow the whistle on 94, despite the ball spending all of about 40 seconds in playing during the 3 minutes of stoppage time he added on, without throwing my TV across the room. Nothing like a good bit of consistency in this league. Absolute ******.
  12. Stephens spoke very highly of him in his post-match interview as well. Said he's such a great, nice lad. Be a real shame if he leaves, I think we are lucky to have him, just need to get the best out of him.
  13. I still think he stands off a hell of a lot, lets so many crosses and shots come in, and as mentioned he is so short that it's the easiest trick in the book to just stick a cross on him and let a Giroud/Murray/Depoitre/Welbeck/Vokes just nod it in at the back post. I rate his workrate/commitment, but not his ability, personally.
  14. Someone mentioned Cyrus Christie above, but actually Fulham's first choice right back is Ryan Fredericks and he's always looked pretty good whenever I've seen him. I really think we could do better than Cedric, defensively he's really poor at times and despite a couple of good crosses in the last two games his end product is far worse than any full back I can remember us having in recent years.
  15. Definitely would take Mawson, not sure about anyone else. Really not convinced by Butland, been awful this season but seems to avoid flak. Not sure we could facilitate Tadic and Shaqiri, and despite my constant criticism of Tadic I'd rather him than Shaqiri.
  16. He’s looked completely devoid of confidence all season, to the extent where it does actually look like he doesn’t want the ball, so i’m not surprised by the above stats. After his goal on Tuesday he was absolutely everywhere, holding it up, playing clever passes, absolutely superb. I’ve been convinced since he arrived that he’s been killed by the players around him, his movement is brilliant but the supply has been awful. I’m pretty sure all of his goals this season have contributed to points as well unless i’m forgetting any. 3-2 vs West Ham, 2-2 vs Newcastle, 1-1 vs Burnley and 0-1 the other night. So he’s actually played a huge part in our survival despite hardly getting on the pitch Whatever happens next, he’s been the biggest part in my two best moments as a Saints fan for years. His two goals at Wembley, and Tuesday night. If we part ways this summer then he’s made a hell of a contribution and will always be fondly remembered.
  17. I get the ‘the stoppage time was correct’ thing but it’s ****ing annoying because I can’t remember any game this season where we’ve been allowed to play beyond the allotted time because of what’s happened in that time. Every game against Chelsea/United/Arsenal/any of that lot, they’re making subs in stoppage time, wasting time at every opportunity, and the ref blows dead on time. It just isn’t applied normally, but twice this season (City away too) we’ve been killed because of a ref deciding to add it all on when we’re in a good position.
  18. A draw away from home, having had a player sent off on the 7th May 2005. Difference being it was us that equalised late on that time, but the similarities are still the same.
  19. The Norwich/Bournemouth wins were 30th and 28th April respectively if you're looking for parallels between home wins that gave us hope when all seemed lost
  20. Wouldn’t worry mate, an anonymous football forum full of ‘real men’ who suggest the only way to enjoy football is to ‘get ****ed and watch the game’ is probably not an easy audience to engage. The vlog wasn’t my kind of thing but I think a lot showed that they don’t understand Youtube and its current opportunities, so fair play to you for trying to seize upon them in a fresh and creative way. Good luck!
  21. More weird criticism of JWP in here despite the fact that the only time we look even remotely like contesting a game is when he plays. He's not fast, he's not particularly strong, but something he does makes us better. He's also the only one offering when our shower of **** inevitably run down blind alleys, he's always there looking to take the ball and move it on to where it should've gone before that useless **** Cedric decided to ignore all his options. He absolutely has to start every remaining game.
  22. It’s been unanimously decided everywhere that Graham Poll was in fact chatting complete and utter ****e. It’s not a rule, he made it up completely, numerous people have pointed it out on Twitter and have checked the rule book and it absolutely does not exist. Which just sums up the refereeing situation in this country. There’s a former Premier League referee getting paid a lot of money to provide clarity on decisions and he just makes things up to back up another **** ref.
  23. Do we know which ref is going to royally **** us tomorrow night? Can’t find it on the Sky app
  24. Let it go mate, he got a **** team to 8th and a cup final, and now has a previously struggling side well above us whilst we’re about to go down, I reckon he’s probably fairly content with his contribution to the Premier League.
  25. Rose has been pushed out of the Spurs side by Poch/Ben Davies and they’ve had a better season than ever, he’s been injured a lot, and it’s perfectly conceivable that Bertrand will start for England in the World Cup. If Rose is worth £50mil, Bertrand is worth more, simple.
