there you go!
-
i think it is 8 goals in 3 matches, but point well taken. Our defence/goalkeeping has cost us 5 points in the last 3 games Should have had 6 points in the last 3 but have earned just 1 - which is the difference between 16th and 7th place in the table!! < so frustrating!
-
Have we hired a corner kick strategist in the last few days?
-
6 points from that would be great! Would put us at 20 points with a couple of games to play before hitting the halfway point in the season.
-
interesting stat. first 3 matches - 6 goals allowed - avg. 2 GA a match last 8 matches - 6 goals allowed - avg. 0.75 GA a match yes, i would love to see us scoring more, but shoring up our defense has been the key to our good form as of late.
-
hate to be a downer, but contracts don't matter much.. VVD left within a year of signing a 6 year extension. But yeah, Salisu has been all that and more!!!! a year ago, we had serious questions if his signing was a big mistake.
-
Loved Pelle during his time here, but no. foolhardy to attempt to recreate past glories years and years later.. how is that working out for ManU?
-
i agree. I feel like i have been screaming this since Game 1. We can't afford to have either KWP or Livramento sitting on the bench. Look how effective KWP was on Tuesday, re: Adams goal). We have seen KWP at left back not be as effective, so.. position Livramento as a winger and let KWP play RB or play him and KWP in a 5 back formation. Livramento -- KWP -- Lycano -- Salisu-- Perraud that would also free up Perraud to be more aggressive offensively - didn't he have something like 3 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1 last year? Let's put these guys in positions were they can succeed!
-
aye, but the key picks are the front 3. who? S. Armstrong, A. Armstrong, Redmond ?
-
who would you say are our BEST 11 players?... Start those. Figure out where they should go, but get them on the pitch, instead of wasting away on the bench. 4-2-3-1 ------------Forster------------- KWP--Lyanco--Salisu--Perraud ----------Diallo----Romeu------ Livramento--JWP--S. Armstrong --------------Broja-------------- 4-3-3 ------------Forster------------- KWP--Lyanco--Salisu--Perraud ----JWP-----Diallo----Romeu--- Livramento--Broja--S. Armstrong 5-2-3 -----------------Forster--------------------- Livramento--KWP--Lyanco--Salisu--Perraud -------------Diallo----Romeu--------------- -------JWP------Broja----S. Armstrong-----
-
Stupid question: does this count as JWP's 3rd game of his suspension? Is he back for Watford?
-
Why are we not bringing in impact subs now when they have actual time to make an impact? subbing in at the 84th minute does nothing.
-
It would take 18 months to bed a worthy partner for Salisu. the irony of course, is that in 18 months Salisu’s partner will be VVD.
-
JWP is one of our best players, but Diallo has stepped up. Why don't we identify our BEST 11 players and find a way to get them on pitch at the same time? ------------McCarthy------------- KWP--Bednarek--Salisu-- Perraud --------Romeo------Diallo-------- Livramento---S.Armstrong----JWP ---------------Broja---------------
-
also, a positive, if you are looking for them - through 8 matches, 6 of our opponents are in the Top 10, 2 are in the Bottom 10. Have had the 2nd most difficult fixture schedule in the League after 8 matches. https://footylabs.com/premierleague-fantasy/schedule-difficulty.html We will have an easier go of it in the 2nd quarter of the season.
-
We have seen this story before. Saints look good with nothing to show for it.
-
wont be seeing JWP until 5 Nov.
-
couldn't you say the same for James Ward Prowse?
-
This feels like a BIG GAME psychologically (for both players and supporters) despite it only being September. - A win will validate the thought that we have been playing well to start the season, despite just 4 points from 5 matches. Optimism will abound. - A loss will have everyone questioning whether we are just as bad (if not worse) as the other dross in the league. Relegation talk grows.
-
statistically more crazy... 9 of our last 10 League Cup draws have been away from home 2018/19 - 3 away matches 2019/20 - 3 away matches 2020/21 - 1 home match 2021/22 - 3 away matches (so far)
-
So negative, Ottawa! 😀 by all accounts we have had a pretty good first half. i know, I know… our second halfs are a horrorshow.
-
This is a good game to get KWP and Livramento together on the same side. What do we have to lose? GK KWP Stephens Salisu Perraud Romeu JWP Livramento Djenapo Armstrong Broja Djenapo/Redmond... not sure it matters... but would switch out for S. Armstrong if fit. Adams, Tella, Diallo - likely impact subs

For what it's worth, All 3 of the NBC commentators here in America (Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe, and Tim Howard) predicted these 3 clubs to be relegated on the broadcast here yesterday: Norwich, Southampton, Watford unshockingly, they all picked Chelsea, Liverpool, City, United as final top 4.

i think Stephens didn't recognize the danger/threat in the lead up to the second goal Saturday. He got sucked in and marked a man JWP basically had covered (or at least JWP was even with), where the real threat was the man on the outside (Salisu was a step behind him) - that man received the ball on the outside right and basically sprinted into the box with the ball unimpeded (which led ultimately to the goal).
