  1. The only MP to take a major media kicking so far has been Ed Davey. What makes this particular story more pertinent is that Panorama had already broken the story a few months before her visit to Davos whereas the issue was still relatively low key when Davey was involved and this particular politician is now actively lining up her bid to be the next leader of the Conservative Party.

The West are still providing munitions, isn’t that providing support for the offensive? Neither Biden nor Sunak are calling for an immediate halt. Isn’t that complicit support? You really need to pay attention. Or it this just your usual attempt at a wind up? what do you think the air strikes against the Houthis were all about? Asking them not to kill the civilians? 😳 How polite of them. Where are the economic sanctions? Where is the condemnation that we have seen against Putin? Selling weapons is still providing weapons isn’t it? Those selling arms to Israel aren’t going to go bust over night if they stop. How would you feel if it was Muslims killing tens of thousands of civilian “pesky Jews”? Still ok with that? One of your many problems is that you don’t seem to be able to comprehend that it is entirely possible to to want the killing of civilians to stop on both sides of the conflict and to understand that It is also entirely possible to be as critical of the actions of the IDF as well as Hamas. As I am sure you will understand though, the issue has grown since the terrorist attack on 7th October to an assault of genocidal proportions against the Palestinians. Or is that ok with you because they are just pesky Muslims?

The sad thing is that these atrocities have been going on week after week. At what point do the West say enough is enough and stop backing Netanyahu and his government’s butchery and destruction. Surely even the most blinkered can see that this went well past a “defensive” action months ago.
  5. Makes you wonder what will happen when we finally lose a match. Calls for Martin to be sacked? It is truly bizarre after the run we have been on. How anyone thinks that slagging your team off lifts morale is deluded. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism, which you would imagine Martin gave them at half time (as opposed to the “metaphorical booing” as suggested by a poster earlier). It is the sign of a good side when they pick up three points after a less than stellar performance. This is a team worth getting behind and that doesn’t mean booing when they go in two down at half time. As for the goals. I thought the first one took a bit of a deflection. He had no chance with the second and it is very harsh to expect him to save the third.

  10. This 100%. He and his party have got nothing to fight with so they are desperately trying to create “issues” that they can use to fight the next election. with. One of those “issues” being created is the “cultural war”. The fact that a very minor issue has ruffled so many feathers shows that it is possible to take a minor issue that is a big deal to a minority and make it a more widespread big deal by repeating it endlessly. Sunak made a fool of himself yesterday but Badenoch immediately piped up and added more fuel to the fire, making it a major talking point. This country is on its knees but we have a failed government whose only response is to weaponise a small percentage of the population who really should be treated more sympathetically. I think most normal, rational people see this for what it is.
  11. Thanks for the advice but I think you should direct your attention and advice to the pile on crowd. They are the ones who do the polluting. If you find my posts so problematic just ignore them. It doesn’t matter what I say and how I say it, there is a group of people who think it is fun to jump on anything I say. They could just as easily ignore my posts, but where is the sport in that? It happened with MLG. It happened with TWAR. Anyway, the good news is that there are more “social crusaders” posting regularly now which will probably scare the thread polluters off and means I can leave them to carry the flag. As for the chill pill, I have seen you get wound up when people deliberately misinterpret what you say. You know what is going on here just as much as I do. If I stop posting tomorrow it isn’t going to prevent them from doing it to someone else when they find another suitable target. Maybe you should suggest that the wind up merchants should modify their behaviour or are you worried about them targeting you too?

Yes, I know. I looked him up after reading his article. I posted it because it is similar to others I have read and the longer this goes on, the more it is apparent that what happened on 7th October isn’t exactly as Netanyahu would have us believe. Just because he is pro Putin, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we should discredit what he says about the Hamas attack. If what he says about that day should be discredited because he is anti-Israeli, why should the pro Israeli Haaretz be given any more credence in what it has to say in rebuttal? The evidence seems to back up what he and others say about the use of the Hannibal directive and if you actually read the whole article you don’t have to be a munitions expert to understand that tanks and missiles are going to do an awful lot more damage to humans and property than small arms fire and rpg’s. At some point there will be an independent official report into the events of that day and we won’t have to speculate any more, but given that the IDF have already shown that they have no regard for the lives of civilians, including their own, do not be surprised if the findings are that the civilian death toll that day was exacerbated by the Israeli response.

An interesting read for those with an open mind about what happened on 7th October. It also supports my earlier post about the numbers of Israelis reportedly killed by friendly fire. https://thegrayzone.com/2023/11/18/video-what-happened-october-7/amp/
  14. If by that you mean that my posts get under the skin of people with the same mindset as the likes of Braverman, Trump, Robertson, Patel etc. then I take that as a massive compliment. Sadly though I think that there are much bigger WUMs than I on the “innernetz” Weston.
  15. Did you see the documentary about Ellie Williams last night? Tommy Robinson was straight up there trying to incite racial hatred. If you think calling him and people like him out is just “something, something” that is your right. I guess people with his views are always going to find some support in football forums but if being called “a bit of a tit” is the price to be paid for posting against these people, knock yourselves out. Personally I think the “bit of a tit” is the poster who can’t seem to mention Kemi Badenoch with referring to her skin colour yet he calls me the racist.
  16. James O’Brien on LBC this morning criticised Kemi Badenoch for being dishonest about the Canadian trade talks. Given the logic of a certain poster on here that means that his criticism is contingent on the colour of her skin rather than her actions.
  17. I do find it very ironic that the very people now desperately trying to pretend that I am a racist are the same people who criticised me and others like me who supported players for taking the knee and protesting against racism. No surprise then that they continue to support the people that I mentioned earlier and others like them. Anyone reading their posts over the years will know exactly where their posts are coming from. If you criticise a politician for their policies and behaviour and they have black or brown skin, that makes you racist. If you criticise the Israeli government for the way they are systematically killing Palestinian civilians and raising Gaza to the ground you are an anti-Semite. These tactics are exactly the same from Donald Trump’s playbook and have been used by right wing extremists through the ages. They play the player because if they played the ball they know they would lose. The Tory Party have been an unmitigated disaster. Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster. Never mind that, let’s pretend that the big issue here is a poster on a football forum and while we are piling on we can distract from the fact that we backed the wrong horses. Carry on lads, I think most reasonable posters on here saw through you years ago. Perhaps we can concentrate on the issues now instead of indulging in your personal grudges?
  18. I think that most of us remember what you said about “frictionless trade” when you were trying to sell Brexit to us Andrea! https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/jan/31/uk-minister-andrea-leadsom-brexit-checks-price-you-pay-sovereign-state-again?utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=discover&utm_campaign=CCwQspTtsbO5sKQvGN_u7oeM8dyArgEqJwgwEJuBxeif1NPaKBjd3s6Pu971ypsBKg4IACoGCAowl6p7MN-zCQ&utm_content=bullets
  19. It is bizarre isn’t it? This same group of posters have been posting on here for years over a large range of subjects yet you will never see them disagree or post against another in the group and they are all quick to support one another. Could it be that they all have the same xenophobic, Islamophobic, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, racist, anti-woke, far right tendencies I wonder? Birds of a feather and all that. They must be getting really worried about the next election. Who to vote for? The party of Braverman, Patel, Anderson, Kendrick, Badenoch and the other far right loons or the Reform Party of Farage and his further right loons? Choices, choices 🤔
  20. Ah, bless you hypo, you are the one who seems to be obsessed with her skin colour. Tell me, why is it you far right types have to make stuff up all the time? Is it because you have nothing to fall back on and have to rely on the tactics of Donald Trump? 🤔 Embarrassed that you are happy to vote for another lying Tory perhaps? Barely a day goes by on here when you can’t read posts on here by me slagging off David Lammy. 🙄

  23. I don’t live far from Sevington either. My wife’s niece used to be stationed there for Border Force when it was hardly used. At least it will have some use now 🙁. Maybe some day we will finally see the benefits we were supposed to be getting from Brexit 🥺
  24. Where exactly have I praised his every move? I have said he was a good DPP, which he was, and I have said that I think he will make a good PM. That is not praising his every move and I don’t agree with everything he says or does. Does he support the “crimes” in Gaza? He has said that Israel have the right to defend themselves but need to act within international law. Since when has saying you have to abide by the law become support for law breaking? Think what you like but he would have to go some to be worse than Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak.
  25. Firstly, some advice. Don’t take anything that the forum WUM/stalker posts seriously. I have said that I used to work for the CPS, I didn’t and don’t “boast” about it. So, back to Keir Starmer and the state of the Criminal Justice System. I worked under three different DPP’s whilst working there (and for the whole of his five year tenure) and he was by far the most effective and engaged. My wife worked for the CPS for over 30 years and says the same. The others would turn up, talk at us for a while to tick a box, then vanish until the next meeting. Starmer would ask questions, listen to the responses, provide feedback and make changes for improvement where he could. When you look at both parties it is very clear that Starmer and his team have a far greater understanding of what is going on for normal people than anyone on the Tory front bench, or the rest of their party for that matter. For those who have been paying attention, ever since he became leader of the Labour Party he has been constantly travelling around the country talking to people, listening and getting a real idea of what is going on in this country at ground level. He will make a far better PM than anyone currently likely to become leader of the Tories once Sunak is ousted but he has got an incredibly tough job to do in overturning the 14 years of misrule. As for your comment about the CPS. The whole of the CJS; the CPS, the Court Service, the police and probation, have all been decimated by the Tory policy of austerity. Year after year our budgets were cut and we spent too much time having to manage these cuts. The only way we could save money was to lose staff and close buildings. You save more money by losing the longest serving and most experienced staff (and they are most likely to seek a severance package) The rest of the Criminal Justice System were in the same boat which is why the whole thing is a “shambles”. You will probably be aware that the situation is the same for pretty much all of our public services. Something to consider when you head off to the polling booth later in the year. Can the country survive another five years of being governed by this bunch of self serving incompetents?
