  1. Che Adams. The player Leeds were allegedly willing to pay £20m for.
  2. The Arsenal interest in Cedric has only just surfaced whereas we have been in for KWP for a while so I don’t think that is the case. It looks more like a case of shifting someone who is currently injured and is off at the end of the season out now. If we were that desperate for cash surely we would have offloaded Adams?
  3. Adams scored lots of goals in the championship. Gallagher hasn’t scored many this season. Whoever made the call obviously thinks that Adams is a better bet.
  4. The Tories are pinching Corbyn’s policies. Nationalising a railway franchise. Bloody pinkos! Whatever next? Duckie will have a seizure.
  5. I remember plenty of people here being prepared to drive him to the airport when the rumours about him leaving started. Excellent player and good luck to him in the future.
  6. He used to be a standing joke with an Arsenal fan I used to work with. He would say that was our three in midfield. The joke soon wore off, but not for him sadly.
  7. Shhhh! Don’t say that. We haven’t finished whinging about the January window yet!
  8. I did indeed. He had a speaking part. I also spotted another Asian soldier. Still plenty of white faces though so all’s good.
  9. Spot on.
  10. I think that should be ‘had.’
  11. Young. Premiership experience. Can play both LB and RB. Sounds ideal for cover and hopefully more.
  12. They trialled it on the M42 I think. It worked better because there was 600m between the safety points. For some reason when they rolled it out the 600m gap changed to a gap of 2.5 miles between them! I can only assume because of cost. As for the “smart” bit it doesn’t look as if there was much due diligence done. It can still take up to 30 minutes to close a line. They told the story of a guy who stopped in a central lane with 5 people in the car. He phoned for help and within seconds you heard him say “****” - there was a loud crash and the phone went dead. Someone he driven into the back of him. Fortunately he and his kids were ok.
  13. Perhaps it is the same bloke?
  14. Just checked with a 65 year old Spurs supporting mate who said that he is a good young player who was doing well until he picked up an injury and has struggled to get his place back. He said it would be a good buy for us.
  15. So the police and the AA both say that these motorways are inherently dangerous. The current minister and the minister who commissioned them are clearly not happy with them. So not down to “idiots” using them. What Panorama failed to mention was the added problem of the emergency services not being able to reach accidents as there is no clear hard shoulder to use.
  16. There is a massive difference between driving and breaking down on a dual carriageway and a motorway. For a start there are a lot more lorries on motorways. If you are a professional driver you must be aware of the differences between driving on the two types of roads.
  17. They should start with golf.
  18. There was some terrifying footage of near misses last night on the news along with a report of a couple killed in their car as the lane had not been closed. It is a recipe for disaster and should not have made its way off of the drawing board. It is bad enough on the hard shoulder as it is.
  19. If he does sign, we could always give him a few games before we slag him off. I know it goes against the grain but it might set a new trend in here! We have signed plenty of players that have not been fancied by their clubs (managers) and have been perfectly fine for us.
  20. Saw 1917 yesterday. Good film. Excellent cinematography and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Not sure if it is worth all the Oscar hype but worth seeing.
  21. I meant to add that I can’t find much to be proud about this country at the moment, but the fact that we don’t break people’s necks at the end of a rope, fry them or inject them with a lethal cocktail of chemicals is something worth living here for.
  22. If we say it is morally wrong to take some else’s life and that is the worse thing we can do, how can we then justify taking someone’s life for doing so? No one has the right to take someone’s life, least if all the state who need to uphold the highest virtues. What sickens me is to see multiple killers let out and still being able to live an amount of their lives as free people. Kenneth Noye should never be free again but is edging that way. I am all for redemption and giving people a second chance in the right circumstances, but there are some crimes where life should mean life. If we are talking about punishment surely death is a quick an easy way out? Removing someone’s liberty and letting them live with what they have done for the rest of their lives is punishment enough.
  23. Either way it doesn’t stop people killing other people does it. In fact the murder rate is actually higher in US states where they have the death penalty.

    Che Adams

It is hard to come on and shine for a few minutes. There was an opportunity to play him from the start today and given that Ralph has said he needs him I am surprised he wasn’t given a chance. If I was Che I would want a move. I hope that he stays and does well, but so far it seems as if he is not trusted.
  25. Longer sentences for lesser but still serious offences that don’t attract the life sentence.
