  1. It’s ok. When the old Little Englanders die off we will be back in again.
  2. Long live VAR. It has become our 12th man.
  3. Nail on head.
  4. Therein lies the problem. Criticise Israel and you are labelled an anti-Semite.
  5. Let’s get one thing straight. I have no problem at all with politicians of any party facing negative press. But there is a huge difference between negative press that is true and negative press which is not true. Corbyn and previous Labour leaders have had to face fabricated and spun stories against them to a far greater extent than happens to the Tory party. For all the bleating about the need to stand behind democracy, how does that work when the electorate is fed a constant stream of misinformation?
  6. He really doesn’t get the difference between old Labour and new Labour. Perhaps if there had been Twitter back then dear old hypo would be better informed about “dangerous” socialism.
  7. So it’s ok for you, Wes and Weston to bang on and on? I have only been replying to them and you.
  8. What about the negative campaigns against the likes of Kinnock, Milliband etc? It hasn’t just been Corbyn, it is a common factor with Labour. Are you saying that the majority of the national press is completely unbiased and only ganged up on Corbyn?
  9. Have I made up the establishment manufacturing “facts” in order to brainwash the public? Ok.
  10. I should have added that if I was on Twitter I expect that I could find plenty of tweets arguing against western intervention in the Middle East.
  11. They really need to find themselves someone who appeals to the electorate. Making someone leader because they have ovaries and a northern accent will not help if that persons can’t take votes from the Tories. Blair managed it by having a total rebrand. It is probably time for another. We don’t often elect Labour governments in this country. Whoever gets the gig will have a hard job to turn things round.
  12. No, I am saying if I wanted to engage on Twitter I would log in to Twitter. As it is I have chosen to be on Saints Web, not Twitter.
  13. Once again, perhaps we can get this thread back on track. It will be interesting to see how the media deal with the new Labour leader. Starmer, as a front runner, has already started to get negative press and that is before he has been elected. How long before the drip feed negativity starts for the other candidates?
  14. Something I have made up? There are plenty of reports of media bias if you care to go and look for them. You won’t though because you aren’t interested. I am not saying that the Labour defeat was all down to media bias, but let’s not pretend that it didn’t work in your favour.
  15. Where did I say that?
  16. I’d rather be that than the Tommy Robinson of Saintsweb. There you go hypo, another for your tally. Isn’t it strange how you righties are fine with lies and misrepresentation when it suits your own purposes.
  17. It seems that I have joined Twitter by mistake.
  18. It makes you wonder why they bothered then. I don’t disagree that the choice of leader was poor but they would have done the same with any Labour leader. The billionaire press barons do not want a socialist government, full stop. As said before, they have already started the campaign against Starmer. Also at what point do you abandon your principles and vote against a leader despite supporting the leader’s manifesto? Johnson wasn’t popular either but people still voted to “Get Brexit Done” despite him. Perhaps Nationalism is a stronger force?
  19. Perhaps you should have read Orwell if you think what goes on is ok. If the situation was reversed you might now be so blase about it.
  20. It’s natural nowadays. Many here wanted Koenan sacked just before we went on a good run. The trick is for the board to make the right decision when things aren’t going well. They made the right decision to stick with both managers. I voted remain and wanted to keep Ralph.
  21. To be honest many here felt the same about Armstrong. One last comment. Why do they persist in booking players for taking their shirts off after scoring a goal? It doesn’t bother anybody and it hadn’t stopped people from doing it. Totally pointless and joyless. Just stop it.
  22. Also wanted to add a special shout out to Armstrong. What a difference he has made.
  23. Many congratulations to you both. The old cliche that they grow up so quickly is true. Savour every moment! What a result. What an amazing turn around. Everyone at the club deserves credit, especially Gao and the board for not sacking Ralph when many other clubs would have done. There is still a long way to go but we are now where I think most of us thought we would be last summer so job’s a good ‘un. Wow.
