To be fair our cones are in the top four of the training cones league.

How do you know that Ralph bases his judgement on training sessions. He is a very experienced manager. Don’t you think he would weigh up his options based on both training and match performances? Neither you nor I have ever managed a professional football team. Whatever you think of his choices and tactics he will base those decisions on what he believes his squad/team can deliver. As you say, they don’t always deliver what they practice during the week, but then doesn’t that happen with most teams every match day?
-
They don’t just play against training cones though do they? The play against each other to practice various set up and systems. Granted those sessions will not be as intense as a proper game but let’s not pretend that they don’t have to show the manager what they are about by going round a cone or two.

We can always rely on Batman for an insightful post. He might have been better off saying we get the Government we deserve.

Did the club go back on its word? We were told several times of the need to sell in order to buy. Our issue over the summer was the problem we had in offloading a number of players and how long that took.

Yes I did work for the Guardian (for 22 years and very proud of it) but I wasn’t a journalist. It wasn’t and still isn’t owned by rich businessmen (it is owned by a trust) with right wing agendas and is still our only independent national newspaper. It doesn’t support any political party although it is liberal with a small l. I am not against capitalism but capitalism for the benefit of all. I don’t believe any of us believe in the trickle down theory any more. There is something seriously wrong when a country with the 5th largest economy has a percentage of its population that has to rely on food banks. For 8 years I saw at first hand what the Tories enforced austerity measures did to the Criminal Justice System. It comes as no surprise that violent crime and sexual offences have increased as the chance of seeing police out and about nowadays. I could go on and on about how our society is becoming more and more fragmented thanks to Tory policies but I guess you won’t see it as their fault.

I am not an old socialist. I have only voted Labour once and that was a tactical vote. However I want the NHS protected. I want the Universal Credit system replaced by something fit for purpose, I want see the railways renationalised and run for the benefit of the people and not for profit and I want the super rich to pay a reasonable amount in tax. I think most people would see those as reasonable aspirations. We are not going to get these things from a Tory government so if that makes me a socialist, so be it. Surely better to want a better society for all rather than for a minority of selfish self centred arseholes.

It’s ok, he never said any of that.
-
Conjecture on your part. They will have to go some to feck the country up more than Cameron, May and Johnson have and are currently doing.
-
So why hasn’t he? (Ok, we all know the answer to that question, he can do what the feck he likes and not face the consequences)

Players and staff donate ONE DAYS Wages to Saints Foundation

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. We expect a reaction after what happened and this is part of that reaction. Why wouldn’t they publicise it? -
If training doesn’t matter why bother with it? Of course it matters. If he has “favourites” I assume it is because those players put the effort into training and take on board his instructions. Do you really think that any manager would constantly pick players who put in no effort during the week? Sadly we seem to have a bunch of players who crumble at the slightest set back and don’t have the will to fight, especially at home. If players are not performing weekly it makes you wonder what the others are like if they don’t get selected.

Katie Hill resigns but Trump remains as POTUS. Different rules and standards for Donald?
-
I don’t disagree, which is why we usually end up with **** poor Governments and leaders who should be nowhere near power.
-
What’s even more depressing is that people worry about Corbyn becoming PM in an era when we have had Blair, Brown, Cameron, May and Johnson. Can he really be that much worse than this bunch?
-
So there was a crowd funding page to raise £10,000 for the death of Gina Miller. Jo Cox has already lost her life to one of these nutters. What is it about some Brexiteers who think this is remotely ok?
-
We are not miles adrift but it all depends on how we deal with that defeat. We can only hope that it will galvanise the squad and they dig in and show some backbone.
-
What are you talking about?
-
-
Trump’s comments yet again show what an appalling human being he is. He is a coward. He bottled it when it came to serving his country and he has the temerity to say that someone else died like a dog and a coward. What a total ****.
-
What he sees that we don’t see is the players training all week. I am not saying you are wrong, but he is a very experience manager and must have reasons for making his team selections.
-
He makes good points though.

Yet Theresa May had no charisma. Granted she won by a whisker, but she still won. Corbyn does appeal to the younger voters. I know it is not the case, but it really should be about policies and not personalities. We really need policies “for the many not for the few.”
-
I would rather Labour (with the LibDems) than the Tories. There is so much to undo like the dreadful Universal Credit that like him or not, Corbyn will sort out.
-
It starts with talking. Wasn’t he vilified as being an IRA supporter for talking to Sinn Fein?
