If Boris is convinced that it is such a wonderful deal let’s put it to the people. Let’s have a referendum either for the deal of to revoke Article 50. We can then have a GE to a elect a Government who will either spend the next life of Parliament sorting out the messy details of Brexit or getting the country back on its feet again after the last 3 wasted years.

I don’t think I have asked the question why. I can see why. I just think it is a bit rich that some people who have committed criminal acts to the extent that they are serving long term jail sentences think it is ok to judge other people and to take their lives, especially if they have committed similar offences themselves. Still, I expect Priti Patel is all for it.

There are as you say millions of injustices. People taking the law into their own hands and committing murder is one of them. This man was tried, convicted and was serving his sentence. He was not sentenced to death.

So the 4 Bulgarian racists that were arrested have been fined just over £400 and banned from attending sporting events for 2 years. That’ll show ‘em!

There is no death penalty in this country for sexual offences against children or adults.

I expect they do. It’s just in my time in the CJS I never heard about a kill on sight policy. It was generally accepted that child molesters were a target for a good kicking though. If it is true that the person who killed him was also a sex offender it does beg the difference why you are a target for murder if you commit sexual crimes against children but not if you commit them against someone older. I suppose you become fair game for crimes once you reach 16.

Given that you cannot protect all of the prisoners all of the time I still maintain that this so called policy isn’t working given the number of child molesters who do not get murdered. It is also a big leap forward from going from being a run of the mill offender to murdering someone. Thank you for the link though. I shall watch it later when I have time.

We have been at this for over 3 years so you would expect the negotiators to know what is acceptable to the Irish contingent and what is not. The DUP seem to be indicating that this is not acceptable to them. If that is the case, why aren’t we trying to negotiate something that would be acceptable to them?

For the hard of thinking... The game was stopped twice in the first half and an announcement made over the tannoy that the match could be abandoned if the abuse continued. A number of the perpetrators left the stadium but the abuse continued, albeit by fewer people in the second half. What was unacceptable in the first half became acceptable (in as much as the match was not abandoned despite racist abuse) in the second half. We know now that the team took the decision to play on in the second half despite the continued abuse, but isn’t it wimping out when having threatened to abandon the match unless the abuse stops, the match continues and so does the abuse? Fewer people were hurling abuse, but it still continued despite the threat.

Are you serious? Where have I said that the scale doesn’t have an effect? I have simply stated that you have to deal with the problem of racism if it is being perpetrated by a few people or a lot of people. There is no tipping point where you either let it go or you deal with it. It really isn’t that hard a concept to get your head around. I seem to recall you saying not that long ago that there wasn’t a big problem with racism in football in this country. It would appear that the England manager and black players don’t agree with you. I also find it ironic that I am discussing racism with someone who thinks it is ok to use an alt right avatar.

If that is the case, how come there are not several murders in prisons every month. If you are “pretty sure” this is the case, where is your evidence?

God you are hard work. Just like Batman you either miss the point deliberately or you are not paying attention. Racism is racism whether it is 1 person, 100 people or 1000 people doing it. Apparently the Bulgarian police have made 4 arrests. It’s a start but I wonder if this is just being done to placate us. It will be interesting to see how many more are arrested.

Which is my point, it still isn’t acceptable even if it is only 1 person.
