The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Boris has lied to the country (again) and lied to the Queen. He should do the honourable thing and go, but then he is not an honourable man. -

Unanimous decision. Should Boris resign? -
Probably more of a pain for those losing their jobs and pensions to be fair. I see the other airlines are cashing in, pushing up seats by 500% in some cases. How can they justify that?

Yes, if only the staff did shift work in the NHS........oh!

Indeed. I rest my case!

Your party? The Labour Party? -

As you seem to have vanished Ducky, I will attempt to answer your question. Whilst I can’t speak for Swinson I can’t think that any British political party would want to be responsible for the break up of the union. -
I once had a wee in a urinal next to John Humphrys.
-
Bottom line - we had 6 shots on goal and scored 1, they had 3 shots on goal and scored 3. Same old story, with better finishing we would have got something from the match.

Gone by Christmas?

A bottle of Pernod. Seemed like a good idea at the time but the next day I had the worst hang over ever.

Whilst we are on the subject of answering questions, perhaps you would like to tell me what you mean by my approach to marital relations Ducky? Nice bit of racial stereotypical phrasing there too! -
Bizarre isn’t it when in 2019 you have to explain to someone what the words racism in football mean. Just what you would expect of a defender of the far right though and someone who has already played down the problems of racism in football on here. The further right you go it seems the more unpleasant you become. Perhaps he should go and have a word with Raheem Sterling about the issues black footballers are still facing?

You answer this question first. Why is it the further right one goes, the moe unpleasant they become? -

The police have issued a statement saying that the fastest growing terror threat is coming from the far right. Tommy Robinson Yaxley-Lennon has come out of prison and backed Johnson. Not to worry though, it’s just bogeymen apparently. -
Apparently incidents of racism in football in England and Wales rose by 47% last season.

I have just finished watching a short series on the rise of the Nazi party. There are some worrying parallels both here, in Europe and in America. George Orwell will be turning in his grave. The use of The Big Lie has never been more prevalent in my lifetime to the extent that bare faced lying has become a daily occurrence, certainly on both sides of the Atlantic. Let’s be clear where this is coming from, the Right. The moderates in the Tory Party are either being forced out or feel that they can’t stay any longer. We have a PM who quite clearly has no moral compass and will say or do anything that he thinks will keep him in the top job. There is a man behind the scenes using Johnson’s vanity and ambition to further his own agenda. Dawkins is right when he says that the Brexit Brigade have moved to a point where their nationalistic fervour is becoming like a religion. It’s no surprise to read in Yellowhammer that social unrest could follow when we leave the EU. The next few months will be crucial in keeping a lid on the hard Right. -
Why am I not surprised. News International pulled a stroke when the closed the News of the World but they are clearly still operating on the same level. It would have been interest to sit in the meeting when it was decided to send a hack round to inform his parents that he has HIV. How do you justify that?
-
Gareth Thomas is saying he came out about his HIV because a journalist was threatening to publish and that a journalist told his parents before he did. Disgraceful.

I a free society it is important to have a free press. Unfortunately self regulation does not always work and there needs to be sanctions when people step over the mark. I am sure none of us want censorship. Unfortunately we have a heavily skewed press in this country and at the risk of upsetting Pepe again, the right wing hold sway. Sadly papers like The Sun do influence people’s views and sway elections. If they didn’t people like Murdoch would not be interested in owning them. Most of the press ownership in this country are anti EU, anti politics remotely left of centre and push their agendas remorselessly. Whilst it is unpleasant to see an innocent family distressed in this way, the daily erosion of truth in the pursuit of self interest by the likes of Murdoch is a far greater worry.

And yet the bloke you voted into power has been squeaky clean. The only “pony” we have to deal with is the constant horse sh*t being served up by the idiot PM we are currently stuck with. They may not win, but if they do they will do so on the back of the promise to revoke. I know we don’t believe anything coming out of Johnson’s mouth, but I believe the LibDems. -
At least The Guardian pulled the story and apologised, but yes, it was poor judgement by whoever decided to publish it in the first place.
-
When I worked in Fleet Street word was that The Sun always had a stock of salacious stories looked away in a safe for days when they wanted a main story buried or for quiet news days. Given Boris’s calamitous visit to Luxembourg perhaps they just used this story as deflection. The Mail is just as bad as The Sun these days. Sadly the right wing press know their market and are very good at manipulating them.
