  1. It’s a bit early to start worrying about relegation. Yes we’re an average side but we are better than this. If we do go down the quality of football in the Championship is good and there are plenty of games and no International breaks, so it’s not the end of the world. I don’t think we will go down though, although we clearly need to sort ourselves out.
  2. I think you have made a perfectly valid point well several times. He is either being deliberately obtuse or is not very bright, a trait you find in those of a far right disposition. The chances of a straight answer are very slim. A bit like Boris.
  3. Friend of the IRA, or friend of peace in Ireland?
  4. I think the Government should issue a “regret” statement for the tosh that you post on a regular basis. Most people seem to think that showing understanding of the harm our predecessors have done here in the past is not a bad thing. It seems that you have any issue with that.
  5. Incredible drummer who inspired many who followed him. One of rock and rolls true, if strange, characters. Along with Keith Richards he lasted a lot longer than expected given their lifestyles. RIP
  6. Which prompted my last comment.
  7. Keep him. Fans said rest Adams. Fans said drop Vestergaard.Fans said play the back 4 we had today. It is not an easy job and he doesn’t have a lot of quality to work with but also look where Everton currently are, and some here wanted us to be like them. There is still a long way to go. I think he will sort it.
  8. So Boris and Jennifer tell us that nothing happened romantically between them. Boris is a notorious womaniser and liar. Jennifer tells us that men go crazy around her and “trip over their dicks.” Boris used to visit her flat, apparently to discuss new technology (any relation to the old Private Eye euphemism “Ugandan relations” I wonder?). Boris tells us that there is nothing inappropriate about their relationship or business dealings. I am not sure whether anyone with half a brain cell believes him but people are still going to vote for our version of Donald Trump. What a sh*t country we have become.
  9. Can you tell us how many indigenous people Greta Thunberg has killed or how much foreign land she has appropriated Batman.
  10. WTF?
  11. a) there has been no “apology.” b) I know that you have an issue with “Johnny Foreigner” but why exactly do you have a problem with our Government expressing regret at what happened?
  12. Bottom line, I find it hard to understand why anyone would have a problem with our Government expressing regret over what happened with the Maoris.
  13. Well said.
  14. And within the law, surely?
  15. Where have I sympathised with violent men?
  16. As I said, you have completely missed the point and don’t seem to understand how we constantly make the same mistakes but often on different ways. The issues we have about blinkered nationalism for example, are rearing their ugly heads again. Being a supported of the far right you should be aware of that. You only have to look at the way that Brexiteers act to see how little has changed when you scratch the surface. British people of colour are still being told to “go home” as they were in the 50’s. We still have supposedly intelligent people kicking off about sovereignty. We are still murdering our own people on our own streets at a frightening rate. You really think that we have moved on that much? Perhaps you are just thinking about the lack of powdered wigs and stockings for men?
  17. I experienced corporal punishment at school a couple of times and was smacked by my parents a few times. Far from teaching me a lesson it just made me feel resentful. I have 3 kids of my own who I never smacked and they have grown up ok. I also had a step daughter with behaving problems who was a nightmare to deal with. I tried all the tried and tested methods of dealing with her poor behaviour but made little headway. I didn’t resort to smacking her and I doubt that it would have made any difference if I had smacked her. She is now approaching 30 and still behaves like a spoiled, entitled brat, but that is narcissism for you. Physical violence against children in order to try and change poor behaviour is never a good idea. The problem is that parents are rarely trained in ways of handling poor behaviour, so will often smack their child out of frustration. Perhaps there should be post natal classes to teach new parents ways of dealing with poor behaviour without inflicting pain?
  18. Not for the first time, you have completely missed the point.
  19. Did he? How do you know? He might never have beaten a woman or he may have beaten one or several. Fail.
  20. Are you being serious? Given the number of times that humans repeat their mistakes clearly we are a species that do not learn from our mistakes.
  21. I don’t see anything wrong in a politically expedient apology. It wasn’t that long ago in historical terms and we did consider ourselves to be more than a bunch of murdering raiders. I was never taught about that at school so it is good that there is a greater awareness of what actually happened. We can’t turn back time but we can recognise that our predecessors acted badly. Better to shown contribution than to just dismiss it as something that happened years ago so just get over it.
  22. It was an Irish pub, not that that should make a difference.
  23. Nope, definitely happened.
  24. Should have added that they have thrown people out of the pub who complained that they weren’t showing Ajax as the main game.
  25. I can’t get my head around this. 77? Wow. Was there on the tv for most of my life. RIP
