Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
sadoldgit replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Still can’t get my head around this, especially as he is currently crocked and out of action, but can only assume that Ralph is okay with it. -
Spurs interested in PEH according to SSN
sadoldgit replied to Behind Enemy Lines's topic in The Saints
Amazing isn’t it. No one was interested in our players a short time ago but a run of good results and we are back to becoming a feeder a club for the top 6 again. Can’t see Hoj going anywhere right now. -
Hypo will love this thread. I shall start things off with Laurence Fox. A few weeks ago he was only known for doing a bit of acting. All of a sudden he has become the go to celebrity for a controversial comment on current issues with an alt right bias. I don’t know what the opposite of a “Snowflake” is, but he is it. Since launching himself as an anti snowflake on Question Time a couple of weeks ago he has rivalled Piers Morgan in the rent a gob stakes. Today’s tirade is in defence of Alistair Stewart who probably feels that Fox has just made his situation worse. Just STFU and go back to acting.

Arsenal consider move for Southampton's Cedric Soares
sadoldgit replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Even though he won’t be playing for most of the next month? -
Only if you are not a pessimistic and expect us to sell most of the squad in the summer.
-
How come most players “leave” but Hoj is “sold?” What makes you think so many of the 1st team squad will go? Don’t you think that we will be looking to keep our better players while putting our efforts into finally getting rid of the dead wood?
-
Che Adams. The player Leeds were allegedly willing to pay £20m for.
-
The Arsenal interest in Cedric has only just surfaced whereas we have been in for KWP for a while so I don’t think that is the case. It looks more like a case of shifting someone who is currently injured and is off at the end of the season out now. If we were that desperate for cash surely we would have offloaded Adams?
-
Adams scored lots of goals in the championship. Gallagher hasn’t scored many this season. Whoever made the call obviously thinks that Adams is a better bet.

The Tories are pinching Corbyn’s policies. Nationalising a railway franchise. Bloody pinkos! Whatever next? Duckie will have a seizure.
-
I remember plenty of people here being prepared to drive him to the airport when the rumours about him leaving started. Excellent player and good luck to him in the future.
-
He used to be a standing joke with an Arsenal fan I used to work with. He would say that was our three in midfield. The joke soon wore off, but not for him sadly.
-
Shhhh! Don’t say that. We haven’t finished whinging about the January window yet!
-
I did indeed. He had a speaking part. I also spotted another Asian soldier. Still plenty of white faces though so all’s good.
-
Spot on.
-
I think that should be ‘had.’

Young. Premiership experience. Can play both LB and RB. Sounds ideal for cover and hopefully more.

They trialled it on the M42 I think. It worked better because there was 600m between the safety points. For some reason when they rolled it out the 600m gap changed to a gap of 2.5 miles between them! I can only assume because of cost. As for the “smart” bit it doesn’t look as if there was much due diligence done. It can still take up to 30 minutes to close a line. They told the story of a guy who stopped in a central lane with 5 people in the car. He phoned for help and within seconds you heard him say “****” - there was a loud crash and the phone went dead. Someone he driven into the back of him. Fortunately he and his kids were ok.
-
Perhaps it is the same bloke?

Just checked with a 65 year old Spurs supporting mate who said that he is a good young player who was doing well until he picked up an injury and has struggled to get his place back. He said it would be a good buy for us.

So the police and the AA both say that these motorways are inherently dangerous. The current minister and the minister who commissioned them are clearly not happy with them. So not down to “idiots” using them. What Panorama failed to mention was the added problem of the emergency services not being able to reach accidents as there is no clear hard shoulder to use.
-
There is a massive difference between driving and breaking down on a dual carriageway and a motorway. For a start there are a lot more lorries on motorways. If you are a professional driver you must be aware of the differences between driving on the two types of roads.
-
They should start with golf.
-
There was some terrifying footage of near misses last night on the news along with a report of a couple killed in their car as the lane had not been closed. It is a recipe for disaster and should not have made its way off of the drawing board. It is bad enough on the hard shoulder as it is.

If he does sign, we could always give him a few games before we slag him off. I know it goes against the grain but it might set a new trend in here! We have signed plenty of players that have not been fancied by their clubs (managers) and have been perfectly fine for us.
