  1. Exactly. Benjii - in answer to your questions, I really dont know. Perhaps you should contact the Daily Mail? The reporter is paid to do a job. Does he care? Does it matter so long as he does his job and applies some kind of professional judgement? The issue is that he wont approach a game with the same bias against players than some supporters do. Shurlock - if you look at the ratings again you will see that not everyone is rated the same. Mo and Armstrong were given higher ratings and Gunn a lower rating. I mentioned JWP because that was the biggest disparity, but it is also true to say that some players get marked down because they are disliked, not because they play particularly badly. If you checked ratings like those in TUI with ratings in the media regularly you would know this to be the case - but then it wouldnt allow you to take your usual cheap shot would it, pal? Your view that the ratings in the DM are ******** is purely subjective by the way.
  2. Having said that a good cup run is important to us and that he will play a strong team, Hughes then makes 10 changes and puts out the B team. Luckily Brighton's second string is poorer than ours. If I was the manager I would want to work on my best eleven, not give fringe players a run out. Still, we are through to the next round and that is the main thing. Interesting to see the difference between some of the Daily Mail's player ratings and those of the supporters on The Ugly Inside, notably for whipping boy JWP. DM ratings on left TUI on the right. Gunn 6 - 7.1 Stephens 6 - 5.4 Yoshida 6 - 6.4 Bednarek 6 - 6.1 Targett 6 - 5.8 Davis 6 - 5.1 Romeu 6 - 5.6 JWP 7.5 - 5.4 Armstrong 6 - 5.1 Elyounoussi 6 - 4.9 Gabbiadini 6 - 6.1
  3. We are only 3 games in too. It hasn’t stopped the usual suspects from getting the knives out.
  4. Bizarre. You don’t have to be a “Les Reed plant” to appreciate the good seasons in which clearly everybody involved with the club should take credit. The dildo brothers have just spent £100m and have brought in a very experienced senior manager in trying to placate their fans. It seems to be failing. If that is what you expect him to do then there is no guarantee that it will work. He is not the only person in football struggling to keep the supporters happy although given the grief the board get on here every season that is clearly an impossible task.
  5. He certainly didn’t get any praise on here. I also don’t see how he can be blamed for Toby deciding he would rather go to Spurs than stay with us.
  6. So no credit when things go well (he was still getting dogs abuse when we were getting praised as being a well run club) but he gets the blame when things go badly. Sounds like he is in a no win situation. As for not winning anything, most senior managers of professional football clubs never win anything. Of course he is not immune to criticism, but let’s not pretend that he has not contributed to many excellent seasons - often in difficult circumstances.
  7. West Ham also have a nightmare 7 games coming up. Bloke on Talksport says they will be lucky to get 3 points out of 21.
  8. And for top ten finishes on the trot for which he gets zero credit.
  9. Gone by Christmas?
  10. Like you WC, I think that they are all nutjobs, but you have to be particularly screwed up to kill your mother and sister because of a religion. Apparently the police arent treating it as a terror attack (I never got that terminology, surely anyone coming at your with a knife, it has to be terrifying) but the point is that Batman has plenty of previous for jumping on murders and claiming they are down to Islam before knowing the full facts.
  11. Batman jumps to stereotypical conclusion. Just another day on an Internet forum.
  12. Abuse is abuse. Throwing bananas on the pitch is just as abusive to black players no matter what they earn compared to nurses. Money doesn’t mitigate the amount of distress felt by those being abused. No one deserves abuse for doing their job be they working class or any other social class.
  13. How old are you?
  14. So then Duckster, I suggest that you and your alt right buddies read Stephen Glover’s article in the rabid right wing Dail Mail this morning regarding the trial. It would seem that one of your own agrees with me. It’s headline is “I can’t be the only person baffled by the court case that saw a violent and drunken England cricket start walk free...” No Stephen it appears that there are at least two of us. As for the alt right Chuckle Brothers, we all know that they both would have been falling over each other to make a comment about this on the terrorist thread had any of the accused been Muslim.
  15. I don’t. I was just expressing an opinion that, from what I read and saw, I thought he was lucky to walk away from what occurred that night scot free. It appears you disagree. Fair enough. It’s no big deal.
  16. If only the reviewing lawyer who dealt with the case for the CPS and the barrister who prosecuted the case had your nous eh Duckie? I still think he was lucky to walk away from this (and Hales who was filmed stamping on the head of one of them). Neither of the gay guys supported him in court despite what was said after the verdict. He said he had drunk two or three pints and at least six vodkas but says he wasnt drunk. Seriously? He says that the gay guys were his friends yet he had only met them minutes earlier. Witness evidence says the he was "out of control" and the video evidence backed that up. As I say, lucky man.
  17. Just read that the two gay guys have praised Stokes for protecting them. Strangely the defence did not use them as witnesses nor did they submit statements from them. Given how crucial their evidence was in substantiating Stokes’ story you would have thought their submissions would have been gold dust.
  18. Clearly he does. And that the doorman was lying and the two gay guys (who he had only just met and flicked a fag butt at) really were his “friends.”
  19. Felt certain he would be found guilty. The video evidence looked to back up what the doorman said. They are all lucky to walk away from this.
  20. Gone by Christmas?
  21. I am not saying you are wrong, but if he had gone it would have left us without a main RB.
  22. Do players sign for clubs they support over much bigger clubs who pay more money then?
  23. Utter garbage, even by your low standards. Islamophobia is clearly not just "an invention from the last few years."
  24. I think a number of people would think it reasonable to give a new manager at least until the New Year but then we dont all play the hindsight card do we pal? Just as well for Koeman and the club that he wasnt sacked after his poor run of form (but that would be me playing the hindsight card too pal ).
  25. Do you mean when did I say that he was excellent. or when was he excellent when he played? I think he is a decent full back. Not the best we have ever had but not as poor as you seem to think he is. I'd be happy if he stays. I also thought that Pelle was a decent player. Again, not the best striker we have had but, again, not as poor as you thought he was. The club dont seem to be in a rush to sell him so I assume they rate him too. Oh, and what you actually said was that Puel would be gone by Christmas so you didnt get that right at all.
