  2. Pardew did a good job for us and we don't know how he would have progressed as he was kicked out before we could find out.
  3. Perhaps we should slag off Channon for tapping up Keegan when they used to room together for England then? Anyone would think players have no minds of their own (or agents).

  5. As KRG says, seems odd that he still has his licence if he has 5 convictions?
  6. Clearly the guy has issues. I just hope he gets the help he needs and sorts himself out. Mental illness does not need a but after it. People who suffer with it often make very poor decisions and choices. I am not making excuses. Jumping in front of a lorry is not a selfish act. It is the act of someone who is not rational and not in control. George Best drank himself to death after he was given a second chance with a liver transplant. That wasn't the act of a selfish man, it was someone who had completely lost it. Kurt Cobain blew his brains out because he couldn't handle his life. It happens all the time and it is very, very sad.
  7. Why would I pretend? It really doesn't bother me what people offer. It is a part of the process and the clubs involved are the ones who make the decisions. We clearly weren't too bothered about this guy otherwise we would have offered more. I don't know why it bothers you but ever since the summer you seem to have it in for the management and pop up to moan at every opportunity. We have signed three players in this window (if you included RB). We were going to take a punt on another but Feyenoord didn't agree with our valuation of the player. We are doing really well in the Premiership. Cheer up FFS.

  9. The player was offered to us. We made a bid that want acceptable and decided that we didn't want to improve the offer. What is your problem? As an "apologist" I would not have a problem in a club being turned down if our Board didn't fancy their offer.
  10. We paid too much for Long and didn't offer enough for this guy. What a shabby club we are.
  11. Apparently yes, he was offered to us.
  12. He didn't like our defensive and negative tactics apparently and thought we should have played the same way we played against Sunderland. As Del Boy would say....plonker.
  13. Agree. I have heard several comments about Hodgson from Redknapp that showed he was clearly thinking he was the better man for the job. As you say, no class. The Independent is saying that QPR were not going to offer him another contract next year and that he also had the hump over Les Ferdinand having full control of transfers in January. But is all about the knees apparently
  14. Indeed. I am no fan of Wenger but Durhams constant tirade against the bloke is just embarrassing, as is the Daily Arsenal feature (which they may finally have dropped).
  15. Either Hawsby or Jacobs were saying yesterday that it was a huge mistake that he wasn't given the England manager's job. Really?
  16. Me neither. As a kid I was told not to ride two abreast (although we always did when there were no cars around). How times change!
  17. Clearly the roads are dangerous places for all users: cyclists, motorists, lorry drivers, bikers, pedestrians. We all have a responsibility for our own safety and that of others who share the roads. What makes them so dangerous are the idiots who feel like they own the roads and the rest of us are just an inconvenience who get in the way.

  19. The basic point is that we felt he wasn't worth what Feyenoord wanted. I am sure he would have been on better wages with us so instead of feeling insulted perhaps he should just feel frustrated that both clubs could not reach a compromise? I would image more deals fall through than get over the line and this is one that didn't work out. Getting @rsey about it doesn't help matters.
  20. Good point!!!
  21. The only thing that Harry Redknapp cares about is Harry Redknapp. Sadly he will get another job in football but it is good to see some of the media finally sussing him out.
  22. Do you know what wages were offered? Were they "insulting" ?
  23. So not a first team regular then? The thing is he wouldn't be coming here are a regular either, he was offered to the club form what I understand - not someone we have been actively looking at. You would get 3.6 million euros for him but that offer wasn't acceptable and SFC didn't think it was worth going higher. Not sure what the problem is? It would have been insulting if the club had said no thanks he is rubbish. An offer was made that wasnt accepted by Feyenoord. Clubs disagree on valuations all the time. Sometimes they are resolved, sometimes not. Not sure why you are so upset? If you like the player so much you still have him and if he is worth more at some point someone will pay that price.

  25. Looks like he was having a dig!!!
