  1. The big question about Jay, as we all know, is will he come back as strong and as good? I hope so but it is a big injury for someone who relies on pace to come back from.
  2. Would that be on The Great British Flick Off?
  3. I share your feelings mate. All of this badge kissing nonsense is pathetic and we know most of the players really dont give a stuff and will kiss anything if the price is right. Long gone are the days of Terry Paine. MLT was an exception but even he would probably move on nowdays. Thungs have changed but a good cup run would be brilliant. What a chance we had last year!
  4. One of the longest has to be Rudi "Has He Signed Yet" Skacel
  5. With Nicola Cortese as the scheming "Little Finger" and Dejan Lovren as Ned Stark (head's gone).
  6. I am thinking there might be something here for HBO. They have a huge sucess with Game of Thrones but I can see a huge hit for Board of Fools!!!
  7. Alas poor Tadic, I knew him Osvaldo, a fellow of infinite skill and most fancy footwork
  8. Like everyone else I was not happy seeing one player after another leave. Not sure how the new squad will shape up but things look promising. What I can say is that I am no longer unhappy that they have left. Lallana and Lovren showed how shallow they both are. I certainly dont begrudge Rickie his dream move after all he did for us. Shaw and Chambers see to have their heads elsewhere whilst still in nappies. At some point I am sure that both Schneiderlin and JRod will move on but at least they will be here to help RK bed in the new players. Lots to look forward to (especially the decline of Manchester United).

    Pelle

I wonder how much that cost him? What is the going rate for a quickie nowdays?
  10. What is a m between friends?
  11. Genious on behalf of the agent and at least that is one less dodgy b*gger selling second hand cars!!!
  12. The reason I think that they kept their heads is because they have had a difficult time in getting their targets in but seem to have moved methodically down the list and brought in the players that RK wants/needs. With the exception of perhaps Long, I dont think we have paid silly money for anyone and when thinks have looked dodgy (Rojo etc) we have moved on. I think they have delivered what they said they would and you cant ask for more than that. As for the manager - an inspired hiring I agree.
  13. Tadic looks like the player to get people out of their seats. He has adapted very well to Prem footy and looks nailed on to help us forget all about our previous captain!
  14. I am sure you are right about Rickie's move. I expect he would have signed anything they put in front of him and £4 is loose change for Liverpool. Sadly for Rickie though it looks like he will be more of a fan than a player.
  15. But soft! what transfer news through yonder internet forum breaks? It is the east and Ronald is the sun Arise fair sun and kill the envious moon Who is already sick and pale with grief at the quality of our new squad
  16. Koeman for me by a country mile. He is shaping up to be the Man. I dont expect miricles overnight but I really think he has it in him to take this club up a level.
  17. I am sure the Bard would have had a field day...Now is the summer of our discontent made glorious winter by this son of Holland...or something...
  18. Yep, were certainly went through a sticky patch but the Bard said they would reinvest in the team and that we would be competitive and that looks to have happened. Were the phone lines jammed with callers wanting their money back? Just because your mate did doesnt mean to say all callers were. They were probably the players that Les talked about who were gagging to play for us! Seriously, when you look at the % on here who wanted (or said they wanted) their money back it was small beer. I am more inclined to believe it was down to Ronald that we didnt seel JRod and Morgan. He clearly stated that he wanted to build the team around them. After all the players that left would it really had made that much difference if two more had left? Like many, I was stunned when Chambers left but it didnt stop being SFC and there was always going to be a team to support. I seem to remember much more anger at the club when things were going pear shaped under Lowe's second coming than the bed wetting this summer.
  19. Ditto everything that has been said. Really wish him well at Norwich and hope he helps them get promoted. All the best Jos!!!
  20. I am rubbish at predicting but I would go for 10th too. Still early days but I think we will be better at putting weaker teams to the sword under RK whereas we might not pick up so many points against the stronger sides. I get the feeling that RK is looking for more goals from midfield which is no bad thing. Pelle I am sure will score goals - how many who knows. Long I am not so sure about but hey, if Morgan gets on the score sheet more often who cares! It will be an interesting season f'sure!
  21. I am happy to hold my hands up and say that I was firmly in the Gaston is a waste of money camp. Having said that I did hope that he would stay and show his worth this season. He clearly has ability and it will be a choker if he does the biz at Hull (but some how you just see that he is going to spend more time on the treatment table). It was a big spend that didnt pay off for us but I wish him well. Who knows, it might all work out well and we get a decent player back for a final year of his contract next year?
  22. I always assumed that transfers took ages for all clubs so not sure why anyone assumes that they are done in hours. I am sure that there are some done quickly but once agents became involved you can see why it is in their interest to keep things bubbling away for as long as possible. I loved the story about us bidding against ourselves but surely that is misconduct on behalf of the agent?
  23. I love the "Board of Fools" label.
