There is a lot of footage that shows that she wasn't walking around normally. She lost her handbag. There seems plenty of evidence that she wasn't in control. Just because she wasn't unconscious doesn't mean to say she wasn't out of control. Neither of us was in court but clearly there was enough evidence a) for the CPS to bring the case to court and b) for the jury to find Evans guilty of rape. Maybe you think it is okay to stick your d*ck into someone who is off their face and that you have only just met? It sounds like you are hoping he will get off on appeal? Whatever you or I think, it is what the jury think that matters and they believe that the complainant was not capable of giving consent.

I saw that clip too. But have you read the account off CCTV on the Evans website? From that she was clearly in a state.

The thing is that no one held a gun against Evans' head and made him do this. He made a very bad choice and is now paying the price. Brings back memories of the Steve Moran incident many years ago whilst the Saints were playing abroad.

She has no memory of the event because she was either very drunk or drugged or both. That being the case how could she give consent if she was not in control?

Evans says she gave consent. I have just looked at his website and from what is says there the girl was very clearly off her face and not in control. Both of them took advantage of someone who was clearly very drunk. His mate was lucky to get off and they were both stupid. Whether her drink was spiked or not, they are both grown men and know when someone is not in control. I believe he posted a video of her walking into the hotel. From his own evidence prior to that she was all over the place.

At the very least it was a shabby act against someone who was clearly not in control of herself.

It is very difficult. I have worked with the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit for the CPS and it is not easy to get a conviction. Yes the system is far from foolproof but he has been convicted and as it stands is a convicted rapist.

The evidence must have been strong enough for the jury.

Difficult one but rape is a very serious offence. Would we be okay with a convicted murderer picking up his football career if he got out of prison early? I do think he should be allowed to work again but I also think that any professional football club should say we do not want anyone convicted of a serious crime playing for us. I know he is saying he is innocent but he has been found guilty and until such time as the conviction is squashed on appeal, he is still guilty.
  10. Great performance in a Clockwork Orange. RIP.
  11. I have a feeling that C B Fry and Hypochondriac are one in the same person.
  12. Defenders still need to defend and he has been very poor. 6 yellow cards too.
  13. The Daily Star have us finishing 2nd!
  14. RIP to all who gave their lives for their country. I lost both of my grandfathers in the Great War and an uncle in WW2 who was a Spitfire pilot.
  15. I would pay a great deal of money for them not to make another record. Haven't we had enough of 1D already???
  16. Many top managers prefer to stay with their league clubs rather than manage a national side. Let us hope that Ron is happy here and wants to see the job through. There will be plenty of time for the national job further down the line I expect.
  17. Some people still worried about relegation? WTF?
  18. I don't agree that we are punching above our weight. We are where we are on merit. It is not our fault that so many of the so called big clubs are misfiring. I think the only club we need to worry about is Chelsea.
  19. Why my daddy heads in Liverpool?

    Van Gaal

Ferguson wasn't likeable either. He got away with it though because he won shedloads of trophies!
  21. Listen mate, NC has long gone. We are currently 2nd with an excellent manager and playing good football. If you really cant enjoy this and can only harp back to the good old days under NC or look forward to a bleak vision of losing key players again next summer what is going on inside your head? I have heard of pessimism but this takes the biscuit. Where exactly were we going under NC that we cant go with the new management? Lighten up and enjoy the ride for goodness sakes.
  22. I must admit I was worried about Fonte this season and was hoping he would be replaced and would just be cover, but he has stepped up and is a deserved captain.
  23. Very touching. The club is in good hands.
  24. I disagree Minty. I think that Chambers has been poor this season. His poor positional play has lead to a number of goals against and whilst it is not down to him alone, Arsenal have looked weak at the back. I was going to say he offers nothing going forward but appreciate he has scored his first goal and provided a cross that led to Arsenals equaliser in Europe the other week - but apart from that he was very poor and was at fault for the goal they conceded. He may well flourish but at the moment I think too much is expected of him.
  25. It is relevant because I was responding to a comment about racism. But if you want me to shut up I will.
