Hi PB, I am sure we did meet up back then. I have also shared a pint or two with GM! I think in those days the chat was centred on Rupert Lowe rather than the possibility of CL football so at least things have progressed somewhat!

Many, many years ago there was a forerunner of this site called SaintsList which was email based. We arranged a few meetings for posters near The Dell and on one occasion I attended a "do" in a local pub that included none other than Ted Bates and Rupert Lowe. It was interesting to meet so many people that I had only previously met online and as Pap says, you see them in a different light. Once you have meet people in the flesh (so to speak) and get to know them properly it does tend improve the online relationships. I am sure for example that Alpine cant possibly be so negative in real life (then again...).

Where ever we finish it will be down to the points gained over the whole season. To say it was just down to drawing with West Ham and losing to Swansea is ridiculous. As someone said earlier, if we had been told we would be 4th mid Feb in the summer none of us would have believed it and would have been more than happy with that. Some people were tipping us for relegation and now there are complaints that we drew at home to West Ham (who are in form at the moment). We have had a brilliant season so far - enjoy the ride you miserable gits!

Clearly the guy has issues. I just hope he gets the help he needs and sorts himself out. Mental illness does not need a but after it. People who suffer with it often make very poor decisions and choices. I am not making excuses. Jumping in front of a lorry is not a selfish act. It is the act of someone who is not rational and not in control. George Best drank himself to death after he was given a second chance with a liver transplant. That wasn't the act of a selfish man, it was someone who had completely lost it. Kurt Cobain blew his brains out because he couldn't handle his life. It happens all the time and it is very, very sad.
