Agreed, excellent post. We really ought to have local candidates who do live locally. You cant move around here for parish councillors who are all over local issues so I am sure there are people who would stand who know the local area well but are also politically savvy.
-
I wonder how many people know who their local MP is?

If it aint Wembley it aint the FA Cup final. Never the same when in Cardiff.

Loving the new alt-J CD. If you like your indie music left field and quirky, check it out.

Sad state of afairs in British politics when UKIP start to get this much coverage. Look back though history at some of the great politicians we have had in the past and compare them with the muppets we have nowadays. It is a shame you cant register a protest vote on the ballot form. I dont vote now but all that does is let in more nutters. We should have a right to say we are unhappy with all politicians and have that recorded in the ballot.

He may turn out to be a decent International one day but at the moment he shouldn't get a game. Has been poor in all of his appearances so far. As for Rooney, whatever happened to him. So much promise all those years ago but it has all gone to pot.

I expect there will be more tits in it this time round. Is it going to be on HBO? If so, guaranteed! -
The police gather evidence and then take what they have (or what they think they have) to the CPS to see if they have enough for a possible conviction, If people come forward and make a statement they (the police) have to treat it seriously. If those statements are false or there is little to back them up a case could well be dropped. I agree that suspects should not be named until charged though. Just because a case is dropped, it doesn't mean to say that the accusation is false. It could be. It could also be that the CPS feel there isn't enough firm evidence to take the matter to court and get a possible conviction. There has to be a good chance of conviction and it has to be in the public interest to take a matter to court.

If only it were that easy! Put the best players in each position together and there is no guarantee that it will work as well. Mind you, that is not to say it wouldn't be better either - but as they say, form is transient, class is permanent. It isn't just the press that would go into melt down if England put a team out like that - many of the fans would too. Hodgson's problem is to take our best players and make them better as a unit. To be fair to him it is something we have been struggling with for many years.

Students urged to urinate in the shower...

Did you spend it later? -
Rye is awesome and I spend a lot of time there. Lovely town and close to Battle if you like history (they do a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings every October). Also not far frpm Canterbury which is also worth a visit. I live on the edge of the Marsh and it is a very interesting place. Lots of smuggling history. As you say it has a beautiful look about it in winter.

Just as well, I don't want to have to give you a kicking

I thought students p*ssed everywhere bar the loo so surely this will not be a problem? -
Despite our ups and downs over the years, we have had some real quality players on our books.

Sydenham and Paine supplied excellent service to Big Ron and he put them away. It all came together when Ron was signed. A masterstroke by Ted Bates.

Honesty is good. It is what he says and the way that he says it that worries me. The bloke clearly has a screw loose and comes across as a deeply unpleasant character. Good for a laugh though.

Are you insinuating that I am a nutter Hutch?

Where did you see that?

Just read a piece by Dwight Yorke when he was at Sunderland when Keane went into meltdown. Later when Keane left, Yorke sent Keane a text saying he was sorry about how it had ended up and wishing Keane all the best. Keane responded with f**k you.

Bless him, certainly a man out of time. Perhaps someone ought to explain to him that it is 2014 and that things have moved on a bit. Then again, I expect he would just hit them.

Gazza might be a car crash but he knows his football! You can only play what is in front of you and everything is relative. I still maintain that if Robson was playing today he would walk into any top Premiership side. Scholes was quality but his tackling let him down. Often got himself sent off with clumsy challenges when there was no need. Could do with players like that now though.
-
In Gazza's book he says that Bryan Robson was the best player he had played with. For Manchester united Beckham played 394 games and scored 85 goals. Robson played 461 games and scored 99 goals. For England Beckham played 115 games with 17 goals. Robson 90 games with 26 goals. Not bad for a water carrier!

Scored a lot of goals for a water carrier!
