I dont think the problem with Townsend is wages - that seems more about Schneiderlin. Generally I think it is about wages. Clubs like QPR are prepared to pay more than us it seems (which I dont have a problem with).

Koeman has been very adament that Schneiderlin isnt leaving so dont know where the swap stuff comes from?

I am not sure how you could implement a salary cap. It must be in contravention of employment laws. Even then I am sure they would find ways around paying people more. Even if there was a slalry cap, how would you stop players wanting to go to the "big" clubs and play CL football?

I nearly went to live in the States a few years ago but as much as I would have lived by their laws and conventions there is no way I would be anything but British. It is in my DNA. Anything else is just cosmetic.

At least before we had the Totty threads to liven things up when there was a lull in activity on the transfer front. I know tha Irene has the hots for Artur but I dont think he counts as Totty for us fellas.

I used to go to school (and live) not far from Biggin Hill. Every year we'd have Lancasters and Spifires fly over and every time people would stop and look in awe as they flew over. Went to Leeds Castle this year and two Spits did a display. Awesome machines.

Are you Artur? How do you know so much about what he thinks? I am sure it sucks being replaced and I am sure it will give him time to relect on the couple of howlers he made last year that cost us points but he is being paid a lot of money to do what many of us would do for nothing. Forgive me if I dont have much sympathy for him but this is a professional sport and at some point in his career he must have taken te number 1 spot from another keeper.

So he is quite happy to be No2 and play for the No 1 jersey until such time as he can get a transfer? Seems reasonable to me if that is the case.

I dont have a problem with players not being happy about decisions but these things should be kept behind closed doors. I am sure the Ferguson/Beckham situations happen more than occasionally but I am also sure that they are kept in the club as much as possible. Players now seem to think it is perfectly ok to tell tales through Twitter or whatever. Its not.

The competition isnt dead but it is controlled by the clubs with the most money. The chances of a reasonable sized club being in the top 4 is nigh impossible nowdays. If Norwich or Bolton or Crystal Palace got into the top six then I assume they would do so by winning matches and providing extra competion to the top teams - no bad thing in my book.
