  1. I am not well up in these matters, but if you want to buy a football club isn't there a bit more in it than offereing a bloke some wedge? Isn't it down to the shareholders? If everyone else sold it wouldn't matter if Lowe didn't. Correct me if I am wrong please.
  2. Average points per game 92/93 1.19 93/94 1.02 94/95 1.29 95/96 1.00 96/97 1.08 97/98 1.26 98/99 1.08 99/00 1.16 00/01 1.37 01/02 1.18 02/03 1.37 03/04 1.24 04/05 0.84 05/06 1.27 06/07 1.64 Average points per game (based on 3 for a win for all) Burley 1.54 McMenemy 1.52 Hoddle 1.50 Bates 1.42 Strachan 1.35 Ball 1.34 Nicholl 1.32 Sturrock 1.31 Souness 1.31 Redknapp 1.22 Merrington 1.21 Jones 1.18 Branfoot 1.11 Gray 1.05 Wigley 0.89 Sorry don't have Pearson but think it is round about Jones/Merrington mark So despite the hate shown towards George Burley he is our most "successful" manager since the war and his 06/07 season our best since the start of these stats. It also shows that under Lowe we haven't done much worse than before in terms of points per game overall.
  3. Unlucky to be dismissed by THREE clubs? Dowie's star was on the wane a long time ago. Irrespective of who is wanted I suspect that the next manager wil be an internal appointment.
  4. I know what you are saying Darren, I just find it odd that he choses to give his money to the oppositon. How does that help HIS club? This club needs the revenue of its support base whether Lowe is here or not. Isn't not going becuae of one man a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face? Does his, or others boycott make any differnce to Lowe? He went and he has come back and all these "sacrifices" seem to do is to damage SFC further, not Rupert Lowe. Even if we do end up in administration there is no guarantee that Lowe will depart. In fact in some ways it might be better that the club gets itself into a healthier position, it might then be a more attractive prospect to someone else. I can't see people queing round the block to buy a third tier club can you? If, by some miracle Lowe does manage to keep the club afloat, that might lead to his departure.
  5. Steve, you and your nephew really should be running this club shouldn't you? You know so much more than everyone else. You can even tell what kind of accent someone has without ever having spoken to them! You come across like a lover scorned. So, after giving Lowe you whole hearted support in the past you are now bitter and twisted because he has let you down. The thing about nailing your colours to a mast is that you either have to stick with it or, if you decide to rip them down, your are stuck with the mental anguish of having done so in the first place. In must be hard for you eh? I on the other hadn, having no agenda with any Chairman or CEO can sleep soundly at night nowing that all of the people that have run this club from year dot have made good decsions and poor decisions and that life continues to go on the next day. So then Steve (and your nephew) what is your grand plan for getting this club back on track? Yours truly, Noddy.
  6. I can if they give it to someone else instead Daren. I stopped going to live football regularly back in the 70s because I was playing at weekends myself. For various reasons I never got back into the habit (young kids, distance, cost, working etc etc) but I still try and go a couple of times a year as a treat. I did plan to move nearer and get a season ticket when I reached this age but that hasn't panned out due to personal circumstances and the expense of going to matches nowdays. I earn half of what I was earning 9 years ago. I just can't afford it. I would never stop going because of a board member or because of the league we play in as some do. I accept that is there choice. I just find it very, very sad.
  7. There have been plenty on here of lat but the one that sticks in my mind was Alpine saying he would "lump" Burley if he met him.
  8. Well, we were told that Lowe leaving would bring the fans flooding back, which of course it didn't. If we were in the top 6 this would not be such an issue. If the results improve so will the gates.
  9. If I could be bothered I could find plenty of examples. You yourself have been talking about fans fighting amongst themselves yesterday.
  10. Truce indeed mate. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Time to go and replenish the booze cabinet I think!!!
  11. Once again Stanley, putting words into my mouth. I said the more middle of the road and reasonable people are leaving. Frank's Cousin doesn't post so much any more either and I can't blame him as he gets load of stick from the knee jerkers.
  12. Stanley, obvoiysly in your world people "lose it" not in mine. What is funny is watching a bunch of supposed grown men act like a bunch of babies and throwing their dummies out of their prams because their football team is currently rubbish. Grow up mate. We are all gutted about the situation, but not all of us want to go and beat people up because of it.
  13. 1. I was born in S London if if anything a ****ney not a Chav. 2. Nicely avoided answering the question. 3. What did you intend to door to poor old Jan if your got your hands on him exactly?
  14. Absolutely Ottery, but I use the term ironically here.
  15. We are talking about you Stanley. We have already established that I am a cyber fan and a fool. I have been a cyber fan for decades. You have recently made a decision to deprive your strapped for cash club money whilst giving it to the competition. Well?
  16. Maybe it is because the lunatics are taking over the asylum??? Seriously though Stanley, where did I say that they were not? I am just stating that the middle of the road posters seem to be disappearing as the reactionary voices get louder (and obvioulsy more frequent).
  17. Ah Steve (or Seeve's nephew?). Which one of you wanted to get hold of Jan? Tell me, I can't be bothered to trawl back through old posts by didn't you used to be a "Lowe Luvvie"?
  18. The club needs cash badly and you give it to the competition, yet I am the fool?
  19. Fair point and I do accept that there are reasonable posers here still. I also think many have given up because the reactionary threads and posters.
  20. And the "minority" voted against George Bush apparently Stanley.
  21. Tut tut Stanley, you know full well that I don't see myself as a model fan. Just one that doesn't think that cr*p results warrant violence against other people or witch hunts. So are you saying that the Forest game wasn't big? And you still haven't responded to the fact that you are happy to support others clubs financially but not your own.
  22. My apologies. It wasn't really aimed at you, just the people who do that.
  23. And your views do Stanley when you are happy to financially support every other club than your own? You only turned up at St Marys whn you thought that it was going to kick off. I know people who go to St Marys and do not beat up other fans, do not spend hours slagging off the board. They moan and ***** about the team and the result and that is as far as it goes. There are many cyber supporters around the world (and I am sure you know Yolly) whose views are as valid as anyone elses. If you chose to dismiss or belittle them, that is your choice mate.
  24. Dismiss others? True colours? Yes I will dismiss others if I think they go too far and why not? They have their right of opinion as much as I have mine. It just seems that here you are only truly acceptd by the masses if you want to string a bloke up by the neck. As for true colours, I have always had a problem wth reactionaries and that will never change.
  25. Not rattled Stanley, just frustrated by people who are so wrapped up in their own agendas that they fail to bother to actually read what is in front of them. You and your ilk just don't get it do you?
