  1. To be fair he is probably right as things stand. If he comes here though we will soon drag him down to our level. 😉
  2. I’m old enough to remember when managers often used to build teams around certain players. Now players have to fit into prescribed systems. Hopefully this phase will pass at some point soon and we will return to flair and individual moments of brilliance instead of keeping up the possession stats.
  3. The last 14 years of Tory rule have been an unmitigated disaster yet not a peep from you. We are where we are financially because of the people you voted for. Whinge all you like but the rest of us will never forget…
  4. It’s a shame but hopefully the money will bring in someone better suited to our system.
  5. The other keeper deal was down the toilet hence the picture?
  6. Yet. 😉
  7. The greatest trick is dying young. Lennon, Jackson, Bowie etc all sold tons of records when they popped their clogs. Not sure how that works with streaming nowadays though? Oasis were always going to do a reunion tour, the lure of the £ dictated that. It was just a question of when rather than if. Scary to think that was all of 30 years ago. Great for their fans. We all have our golden age of music and I was lucky enough to grow up to The Beatles, the Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Yardbirds etc. Never saw The Beatles live which wasn’t a problem as you probably couldn’t hear them play for all the screaming, but I did catch Paul McCartney who featured many Beatles numbers in his set. Magical. I started going to gigs in 1971 so caught the golden age of prog rock along with heavy rock. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Wishbone Ash, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, ELP, Genesis (Gabriel era), Yes, The Who along with Rumours era Fleetwood Mac. I found an ELP ticket for the Empire Pool, Wembley in 1974 that cost £2.30. You have to take out a second mortgage to buy concert tickets nowadays, so glad I caught those bands in their prime. Happy days.
  8. Shirt number 99?
  9. Look on the bright side guys, it wouldn’t be a normal transfer window for us if it didn’t include a long running saga about signing the player who would take us to the next level only have to have him end up somewhere else and going into the final days fretting about filling a crucial position with ever diminishing options.
  10. I think that it would be quite fitting and wouldn’t have a problem with it (as long as we won the game 😉).
  11. Two abiding memories from that era; the Gallagher brothers arguing over which one of them was John Lennon and the bickering between them and Blur as to which band was The Beatles. If The Beatles’ Chelsea boots had had laces, neither band could have laced them. Best moment? Peter Kay calling Liam Gallagher a knobhead at an awards ceremony. I did like the Morning Glory album back then though.
  12. I genuinely think that you talk utter bollocks.
  13. Perhaps wait and see what transpires before slagging Starmer off? It isn’t as if the ruling party of 14 years were so effective is it? We need a change of approach and that is what is happening. How it works out we have yet to see.
  14. Out of interest, how many times did you get sent off for using foul and abusive language?
  15. Just read an interview with O’Riley where he says that the transfer to Brighton took about 2 months to sort out and was frustrating for him that it took so long. It seems like the chances of him signing for us were pretty much zero.
  16. That is really weird. I had a dream last night that he got crocked on his debut and was out for the rest of the season. Should have put a few bob on it. Surprised they started him so soon after signing and in a game like this. He must be gutted.
  17. Maybe the reason we are taking so long to buy players is because the recruitment department are sending out pictures of toilets and Adam & Eve when making offers and the other clubs are taking an age to work out who we are interested in 🤔
  18. Interesting, but could you post a few cryptic pictures too please?
  19. Arrests made in relation to the stabbing of a woman at the NHC (before you waffle on about two tier policing). https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czdpg9rz750o.amp
  20. The thing is these people are apparently merrily Whatsapping themselves 24/7, so why the need for this thread? We know something you don’t know playground mentality/trolling. As for the claim of jealousy, come the point where the transfer window slams shut we are all going to know who we have signed and who we have released without having to look at pictures of a toilet.
  21. I think the whole bedwetting thing is a bit strange though. Most of us think that we will do well to stay up this season. Most of us understand that finding quality PL players on our transfer/wages budget is very difficult, as is keeping PL players when bigger clubs come knocking. If we find some gems and manage to stay up, job’s a good’un, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise or a reason, given the current circumstances, to soil the mattress if that doesn’t happen.
  22. Over 1 million people attended Europe’s biggest street party. If the same numbers attended the FA Cup Final it is highly likely the crime figures would be similar. There are idiots who go to the NHC who are up for trouble just as there are at football matches. People get assaulted and sometimes stabbed at football matches. People get stabbed walking down the street or in schoolrooms. The carnival is not the problem. Football is not a problem. Some of the people who attend these events are the problem. There is a story doing the rounds (don’t know how true it is) that you are safer at the NHC than you are at the Metropolitan Police Christmas party.
  23. Is it not possible to be a realist without wetting the bed? I think we all knew that this season would be tough and that we are likely to struggle, no matter what happens in the transfer market. The window is still open, the new players haven’t bedded in yet and we are only two games in. Plenty of time to wet the bed in the months to come, but it is a bit early now surely?
  24. Only if you know what the picture of a toilet means.
  25. Summer Transfer Window 2024 thread = 12.9k replies, 1.4 million views CoT = 1.4k replies, 93.9k views Which is the more popular thread? 🤔 Perhaps people respond better to names rather than silly riddles? And when the resident attention seeking narcissist feels the need to refer to himself in the third person you know that he knows that he has been shown up for what he is.
