  1. If only we had freedom of movement eh GM? You could go and live with like minded people in Germany or France. Still, if Farage wins the seat in Clacton you could always move there. Not much in the way of compensation though, I grant you.
  2. Tony Lee, the head of Sunak’s election campaign and husband of a Tory MP being investigated for betting on the election date, has now taken leave of absence. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/laura-saunders-second-conservative-candidate-facing-betting-probe-is-married-to-partys-head-of-campaigns-13155879

  4. It looks like the keeper had the shot covered until the deflection but they have given McTominay the goal.
  5. Di Stefano, Kempes, Aguero, Garrincha?
  6. More grief for Sunak. https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/article/2024/jun/19/sunak-protection-officer-arrested-over-alleged-bets-on-timing-of-election https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2vv4j87n5wo.amp
  7. Like Sunak moved a little less to the right by making Suella Braverman Home Secretary? He has been played by the Tory right ever since he became PM. How do you think he would fare against Farage?
  8. Cracking equaliser after a big mistake
  9. Nothing to do with the Treasury. Cameron and Osbourne called the shots. Agree about Churchill but those were different times. Dear old Winnie would have been cancelled long ago if he was an MP these days.
  10. Just heard that Sunak has not ruled out working with Farage in the future. Quick question, what is more relevant and concerning, that Starmer used to serve in a shadow cabinet under Corbyn years ago or that Sunak hasn’t ruled out working with the leader of a party that attracts fascists and racists and who himself is racist, in the future?
  11. Wasn’t that Nick Clegg? I think I have said many times that I stopped voting LibDem when they “enabled” the shit show that followed. Keep up.
  12. Why wouldn’t you do what you can to get yourself elected? The fact that he has made some unpopular decisions and flip flopped as you call it so far is because he doesn’t want to make promises he can’t keep and do things he feels the economy can afford without massive tax rises. Sounds good to me. Who knows what will happen but at least we know that we won’t get Brexit! Did anyone see that coming when they voted for Cameron?
  13. We are where we are because of the years of austerity thanks to Osbourne and Cameron. This was a political choice, not a necessity. It made us less able to deal with things like Covid and Ukraine’s justifiable defence against the Russian invasion, along with the negative economic effect of Brexit. This is down to one party. The Conservative Party. It would make sense to get them out and get someone in who would do their best to overturn this mess wouldn’t? And I don’t think that is Reform by the way.
  14. Kindly explain to us why Keir Starmer as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party working to get his party elected has anything to worry us about in what might happen in the future. Are you worried that he is going to bring Jeremy Corbyn back? It isn’t going to happen. He has moved Labour away from the far left, a good thing in your world surely?
  15. Given that we are in the state we are in is because of the last 14 years of Tory miss government it would seem to be a tad foolish to ignore that fact. To try and crucify Keir Starmer because he tried to get his party elected 5 years ago pails into insignificance in comparison. Labour weren’t in power, the Tories were. I know the people who think that Socialism Is Dangerous will try and make some kind of argument that the two are comparable, but they really aren’t. Starmer and all parties are up for scrutiny, of course they are, but scrutinised them on the important issues, not something that has no relevance and has been plucked out of the air in a vain attempt to discredit someone because they have little to go on.
  16. He has plenty of “previous.” His post count goes through the roof as soon as anybody criticises any right of centre politics. His mantra is “socialism is dangerous.” I’m not sure how he squares that when he visits the NHS Scot free or applies for benefits if he loses his job (if he has one). You won’t see him get shirty about parliamentary candidates who have links to a high profile fascist but he certainly will over something which is of no importance in this election or the future of the country because it involves a 😱 socialist! What’s more of a big deal, hypothetically serving in a cabinet under Corbyn or Partygate, giving £££s to your mates for rubbish PPE. Crashing the economy, serving under a boss who lied daily etc etc etc?
  17. It really doesn’t matter. It was 5 years ago and has no bearing on what is happening now. Corbyn is out and Starmer is the leader. The focus should be on what he plans to do if he is elected rather on what he would our wouldn’t have done 5 years ago. Not surprisingly those on the right of the media are trying to do their level best to smear Starmer and they have very little to go with, hence making mountains out of molehills. Next time he should just say yes, he would have served in Corbyn’s cabinet, next question. There are plenty of people who serve in cabinets who don’t agree with every policy put forward. It really isn’t that important. He was deputy leader of the party. He was already implicated with Corbyn.
  18. So Sunak being Chancellor for the sad, fat, lying, narcissistic, incompetent, other people’s wife shagging mentalist is not likely to attract floating floaters to him either? Didn’t your choice, Badenoch, serve under another batshit crazy PM, Liz Truss? How will floating voters feel about that?
  19. Listened to the phone in on Nick Ferrari’s show with Keir Starmer this morning. He sounds much more comfortable with the questioning now than he did on that first televised debate with Sunak. One thing I don’t get though is his reluctance to say if he would have served in a government lead by Corbyn. He was the deputy leader of the party and a member of the shadow cabinet so why wouldn’t he and why would that be an issue? It would be more of an issue if he had not surely? It doesn’t mean that he will be the same as Corbyn as a leader. Own it Keir.
  20. So sorry to hear this Noodles. With deepest condolences to you and your family.
  21. I was thinking more along the lines of telling them that the reason their lives are crap is because of migrants.
  22. As Boris Johnson and Donald Trump have already shown us, just give some people what they want to hear and they will swallow it hook, line and sinker. Farage has this off pat. He knows exactly what to say to appeal to a certain section of the public and they lap it up. They never learn. Reform aren’t a political party, like UKIP they are a pressure group. Farage is using them to worm his way into the Tory Party which he wants to recreate in his own image. It’s his best bet at getting his hands on power. Let’s hope that the decent people in Clacton turn up and keep him out.
  23. I don’t normally turn to The Guardian for insights into Gareth Southgate’s England, but this is spot on. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/17/england-gareth-southgate-serbia-euro-2024
  24. Yes. Apparently he is a quality CB now.
