But no one had to die. Get the cease fire sorted and negotiate a deal for the release. No danger to the IDF. No danger to the hostages. No danger to the civilians.

If you don’t want to engage with me you don’t have to. No one is holding a gun to your head. And you can tell the other bloke that no one is running scared of him. He really isn’t that important. I have amended my ignore list while the election is on because I am curious as to how the usual suspects view it. I have no curiosity at all about his views.

It could well be Delldays.

Another POV that you won’t like. I guess that these people are ignorant to? https://amp.theguardian.com/news/2023/apr/24/un-ihra-antisemitism-definition-israel-criticism

You have just made some friends for life so well done. I am no more antisemitic than anyone sick of a conflict that has been going on for decades without any sign of an end. I am sick of seeing women and children being blown to bits. I am sick of seeing aid trucks ransacked before they reach their destinations. I am sick of being called names just because I think that an ultra nationalistic government is using its disproportionate power to commit genocide. You are another one of those people who use belittlement to shut someone down because you don’t like what they are saying. I am sorry that I do not have the monumental intellect that you do. I am also sorry that you don’t like my posts. Maybe use that huge brain of yours to figure out a way of not seeing them (here’s a hint, use the ignore button).

Let’s not get into a discussion about intelligence hypo, it is not your strong point. Reform have had to kick out a number of candidates for strongly racists views. Goodness knows how many more hold the same views but haven’t been caught out yet. How would you express those deeply offensive racist views if not extremist? Get back to me when you can be bothered. Yet again though you seem to be defending quite extreme views.
-
When I said you are right, they are not I was referring to his comment about rounding up immigrants Idi Amin style. Do keep up.
-
Of course you can’t because you have a weak arguement. Corbyn got and still gets plenty of criticism in here as did/does Diane Abbott and other far left spokespeople. Owen Jones gets stick. Starmer and his cabinet will get a hammering one they are elected. The Tories have been in power for 14 years so of course there will be more vitriol aimed at them. Brexit was an issue that had big issues around nationalism and immigration so that was always going to cause friction between the more liberal and the further right brigade. This idea that somehow the Left get of Scott free is nonsense, but as I said earlier, there is a greater issue from people of the more right of centre (far right to me😉) than there is from the far left at the moment so it makes more sense to focus on them. If it had been a small army of Communists kicking off at the Cenotaph on Armistice day I think you will find that they would have been called out too.
-
Good for you. So what are you getting so het up about? No one is saying you can’t criticise, left, far left, Communist, Marxist, Maoist, Stalinist etc doctrines. You just seem to get very, very vocal when people have a go at anything right of centre right. It is almost as if you have an agenda but don’t know it 🤔
-
More serious than being labelled antisemitic? More serious than you famous quote “socialism is dangerous?”. Grow up. It is a football forum. No one is going to sue you for calling people names. Help me out then. What do I call people who are clearly not normal, moderate Tories. They are further from the centre so not what we would call right wing. They are further right. Further? Far? Not quite Nazi? Nearly Nazi but with good intentions? You talk about the far left. Is that not as “serious?” What is your definition of far left?
-
What is wrong with the EHRC? Didn’t we play a big part in its formation? Oh! It doesn’t contain the word British! 🇬🇧
-
You are right, they are not, but that doesn’t mean that there opinion on immigrants are disturbing. They are trying to get seats in parliament, they are not likely to scare the old ladies. You and I both know that I am not suggesting some kind of Nazi regime, but a party that attracts the same kind of people that listen to the likes of Katie Hopkins should not be seen as some kind of cozy middle England home for the slightly miffed old fashioned Tories.
-
I don’t know how they vote, apart from Duckie. I know what they post.
-
Pointing out facts is hardly whataboutery in fact you are guilty of exactly what you are accusing me of. Don't you recall attacking me when I spoke out against the views Robinson and Hopkins only to say later that you didn’t know who they were? There has been plenty of discussion over the years of poor behaviour in the political arena. Would you agree that the large majority of poor behaviour has been displayed by people on the right of the political divide?
-
How do you differentiate between what is right, far right and extreme right? Would you describe Rory Stewart and Suella Braverman as “right.” I don’t think that I have described them as being some kind of neo Nazi outfit but they clearly attract many people with ultra nationalistic and xenophobic views. Would you agree that they are the nearest political party now to something like the BNP? I don’t think that anyone is suggesting that any abhorrent views should be contested are they?
-
A small handful is hardly half the posters. I have no idea what they are but I respond to what you/they post and who you/they support. Back to the election, James O’Brien has retweeted a document that contains this quote - Shortly before Sunak called the GE he was presented with an itinerary by officials with the “International Leaders” event marked as “optional.” Sunak and his aides decided he should not attend in part because it was the “French Event” and was therefore considered less significant. Apparently he has cancelled all media interviews today. I wonder why that is?
-
Maybe because there is a greater problem in this country from the far right? Did you see the evidence that there is a much greater incidence of unacceptable behaviour from those with a far right agenda in the Reform Party? There has been plenty of discussion here about antisemitism in the Labour Party, much of it from you. Remember? Why are you always so quick to post against those criticising the far right?
-
I assume that you are deliberately being obtuse. If I was found to have sung a song about gassing Jews years ago, do you think you would ever let me forget it? Why so keen to let Farage off the hook so easily? Will you be voting for them?
-
What makes you think that he has changed? He is still leading a party full of racists and he is still a xenophobe with a xenophobic, ultra nationalistic agenda. Mussolini changed his political agenda. Singing about gassing Jews comes from a different place. This leopard can’t change his spots. https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/nigel-farage-jews-muslims-palestinians-and-israel-his-most-controversial-quotes Yet Duckie still supports and votes for him? Most odd.
-
Its leader used to say that he was proud that he had the same initials as the National Front and sang songs about gassing Jews. And then there is this - https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/may/24/reform-uk-forced-to-remove-more-than-100-general-election-candidates-in-2024 https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/24374825.general-election-reform-candidate-horsham-loses-partys-support/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-68731487.amp Not so much in the 30’s though eh?
-
Just look at its roots and some of the deeply unpleasant candidates. But then if you had been around in the 30’s you would label Mussolini a pinko.
-
I hope that you are right about the LibDems. They should really make an effort in my constituency but don’t bother. It is a safe Tory seat with Labour well behind in second place but the demographic would be perfect for them to pitch to disaffected Tories. Farage did his usual stand up last night. He is very good at the negative, destructive, playing on people’s fears stuff but looks like a fish out of water when it comes to articulating constructive policies. Who will become the next Tory leader? They would be mad to go with Farage who would just give them another Johnson, plenty of front but no substance. Mordaunt comes across as one of the Stepford wives. Braverman, Badenoch and Patel would be more at home in Reform. Who is the sensible, moderate safe pair of hands waiting in the wings to unite the separate factions? A Rory Stewart type. How likely is it that, post election, the Tories and Reform will merge (National Conservatism?) with Farage moulding the new party in his own image? Warming more and more towards the Greens. They are upfront about the need to rejoin the EU, something that Starmer believes but is too frightened to go there after the last election debacle. It will be a bigger issue in the next election in 5 years’ time. We need new parties and new ideas. The same old same old last night between the Tories and Labour looks so 20th century.
-
Met office figures are bullshit?
-
Just seen the front pages of the press. The Mail and Telegraph don’t mention Sunak’s D-Day gaffe at all. The Express focus on his apology.
-
As with Sunak v Starmer the plan seems to be shout over the other and try and disrupt them and shoehorn in the £2k lie. Despite times call for desperate measures. They really are a mess. So much so that the Reform Party (National Front disguising itself as an acceptable political party) are hoovering up the support of many Tory (and some Labour) voters. This election is all about getting a dreadful Tory administration out. Labour will win but have an awful lot of work to do. Reform are going to make huge waves with protest votes but have no substance. They will have a massive impact on the future of the Tory Party though. The Greens will win a few more seats. The LibDems are in danger of falling behind both the wiped out Tories and the new kids on the block, Reform. The next ten years are going to be very hard. Putin will continue to play his brinksmanship games with the West. The Isreal/Palestine issue will continue keep the Middle East situation unstable. The economy is not going to bounce back any time soon. Public services will continue to deteriorate through lack of inadequate financing. I find it odd that Mordaunt kept banging on about tax cuts and accusing Labour of wanting to increase taxes. There is no way on earth that it makes sense to cut taxes. Even if you keep them at the same level you will have to increase borrowing to pay for what is needed. Flynn was right. Neither the Tories or Labour are being totally honest about how difficult our financial situation is. To give Labour credit, at least they look gravely concerned when talking about it whereas the Tories are just blagging it. Labour will win, but Farage is going to be the one they will need to dealing with. The current Tory Party are toast and LibDems have no punch.
