Meanwhile… https://www.independent.co.uk/world/nuclear-weapons-us-china-russia-b2563729.html Nearly $3,000 being spent on nuclear weapons systems per second.
  7. Yes he is there to get the side through, which is what he has done. But he continues to be ultra cautious even when he gets through. Caution will get you so far but as he has proved time and again, it doesn’t necessarily win you anything. He could do with a bit of the who dares wins mentality at times. I think the general consensus is that what was important last night was the win. What is causing the alarm bells to ring is the inability to change things when it became clear that Serbia had weathered the storm. We were on the back foot for much of the game after the first half hour and the worry is that we showed no idea about how to get a decent level of control of the game back. We have seen that so often with our own side. We start off brightly and score, only to let the other team back into the game and either scrape home or lose the game. Southgate, for me, has always had the air of a plucky loser about him. If this is to be his last tournament he now has the chance to show that he can be a winner. The signs were not there last night. There are huge lessons to be learned from that performance. Will he learn them? Given his previous experience in the job, he really ought to.
  8. Not sure about that. Bellingham has all the makings of a world class player and is certainly not lacking in confidence but although Kane and Saka are class, I’m not sure if they are world class. We have a very strong squad but it is always about how you use those. It has often been said about Southgate that he doesn’t make the best out of what he has at his disposal and, again, our ability to win this competition will not be down so much to the players on the pitch but more to how they are instructed to play. As has been said many times on here, you only have to look at the Foden who plays for City against the same player for England. Fair play to Serbia for turning their performance around after a torrid start, but, with our quality, we shouldn’t be hanging on and praying for the final whistle. Of course it’s only the first game and Serbia are no mugs, but I don’t think that we would have many of the other teams worried by that performance after 30 minutes.
  9. https://constitutioncenter.org/amp/blog/what-does-it-take-to-repeal-a-constitutional-amendment The right to keep and bear arms was made when those arms were far less lethal than they are now and I’m sure the amendment wasn’t made with the mass killings of local communities by deranged neighbours being part of the plan.
  10. As Micah Richard’s said, we have a good squad but we don’t yet have a good team.
  11. Job done. We don’t often win the first game so happy with that.
  12. What politics are they exactly? All I want at the moment is the Tory Party out and the Reform Party to be without any MPs. I have said many times that I have voted for the LibDems until Clegg handed power to Cameron. The last 2 elections I voted Labour tactically. This election I shall be voting Labour both tactically and because I think Starmer will make the best PM out of what we have to choose from. You try and turn that into some kind of endorsement of raging pinko politics but that is only in your warped imagination. Little wonder Farage has you in his thrall.
  13. I would have preferred him to the dross that the Tories served up, yes. I am in step with anyone who is against genocide. I have never said that Diane Abbott would have made a good Home Secretary, but again I would prefer her to Patel or Braverman. There is a lot more to politics than a few policies or personalities. You won’t know that because the only thing that works for you are the dog whistle politics of Thatcher and Farage. You guzzle up the red meat they throw to you and the other gammons every time. Shouldn’t you be out distributing Reform leaflets?
  14. Hitler had some crackers didn’t he? (Godwin’s Law invoked). Where did I say I was against them? I was simply pointing out that the Tories use reparation too. As for take back control and get Brexit done…what happened there? 😂 The people you support lost control and the only thing “done” about Brexit is the UK economy!
  15. Seems a bit bizarre to struggle with an obvious point. Every election in the last few years the Tories have come up with soundbites that they all repeat ad infinitum yet Delldays thinks that this is some kind of gotcha. A slogan is a slogan Duckie, you should be aware of that given the use of them through history by the people your hero Nigel “NF” Farage idolises.
  16. Which would have been an absolutely cracking post only you clearly haven’t read any of my posts where I say I have no time for Owen Jones or his politics. Try harder. 😘

  22. He was in hospital with sepsis apparently. Only 54 years old. RIP
  23. Karma. With the media being polluted with so many dreadful people at the moment it makes a pleasant change to see a genuinely decent person make the news for being just that.
  24. Depending on if he is any good.
  25. Laura Trott saying that the latest poll showing Reform ahead of them is a “wake up call.” Perhaps they should rebrand themselves as the Rip Van Winkle party? 🙄
