Would more people be encouraged to vote if we had PR? There are a number of pros and cons but the current FPTP system is not democratic and doesn’t reflect the voting wishes of the public.

“I have often thought, Paul, that fishing is like making love to a beautiful woman. First clean and inspect your tackle, carefully pull back your rod cover and remove any dirt or gunge that may have built up whilst not in use. Then extend your rod to its full length and check that there is no kink or any wear, particularly at the base where the grip is usually applied. Make sure that you have a decent float, plenty of bait and that there is plenty of shot in your bag…”

At least we can agree on this.

Go back and read what I said. You will notice that I said had he been asked the question, not if he had said anything about it. Two very different things. As for following Farage’s career (Nigel to you I note), how you can pretend that I know more about it than you, his chief brown noser, deserves the only response you understand…. 😂

I suggest you go and look more closely about how the Reform UK contract and their economic policy will affect normal people. The person who is full of shite is the person you idolise.
-
Only in your case Weston it normally backfires.

There might be one Green lurking amongst us. I wouldn’t want them to feel slighted.
-
Asian rape gang?
-
Apologies to any Green voters here. I forgot to add them to list so you will need to vote for them under Other. I tried to set the poll up several times but kept getting something wrong. I had them on all of my other attempts but missed them off when I did the last successful one. Sorry! 🙄

You have to be a certain kind of “special” to find anything remotely funny about the situation in Gaza.
-
You don’t feel “morally superior” when you think you have taken the piss out of someone on here for posting an opinion? People in glass houses…

You do understand that his economic policy goes further than just raising a tax threshold and that has other consequences? Maybe not. Go check out the likely consequences of his “contract.” Go on Duckie, you know you want to, go and vote for him in the poll. His economic policy has been called “Liz Truss on steroids.” https://ifs.org.uk/articles/reform-uk-manifesto-reaction Anyway, I didn’t see the interview but was Farage asked his opinion about should Putin be successful in controlling Ukraine, he will have a NATO country right on his border. His argument for invading Ukraine is that he was reacting NATO expansionism up to his border. How does that work if by his own actions he has a NATO country on his doorstep?
-
I wouldn’t trust him/Reform with foreign policy or domestic policy and, from what he has said so far, the NHS would not be safe in his hands. His tax policy shows that he will just look after the rich, as if they haven’t been looked after well enough over the last 14 years. The sad thing is he is planning to screw the very people he says that he is one of, and they will vote for him anyway.

Our press isn’t working and part of the reason is because he is often either not where he should be or he is not fit enough to do the required running. It is not just his fault but for the press to work you have to hunt in packs. I don’t doubt his goal scoring record but if a team is set up to play in a certain way and is easy to play through if every player isn’t playing their part, you can’t carry passengers. He was unfit towards the end of the season and doesn’t look fit now. He isn’t the only player we have who can score goals but we have to make the opportunities too. He has been poor in this tournament so far.

I think it is pretty clear that whoever wins the election is in for a hard time. The lack of investment in public services for 14 years has left the next government with an uphill struggle for years. Taxes need to go up but are already too high. The growth we need isn’t going to come without investment. I don’t envy the task of the next PM but one thing is for sure, it would be absolute madness to vote the people back in who are responsible for getting us into this mess in the first place. Hopefully we will not only get a different government, but also a different main opposition party too.

Is she a 9 Pinter perhaps?
-
Kane certainly doesn’t look fit. You would assume that fitness levels are assessed rigorously and if Kane can’t press effectively at the moment, why does he start? The surface of the pitch and humidity inside the stadium wouldn’t have helped, but we were poor from the first whistle, it wasn’t as if we started well and tired later.

It’s not going to happen. Swift was spotted in ‘Spoons last night necking 9 pints of Bishop’s Finger. Duckie has it sewn up!

I wouldn’t say the hatred was irrational. He says himself, what you see is what you get. The people who hate him hate what they see and what they get.

Had a couple of flyers arrive today, one from the Tories and one from the LibDems. I also had a sales leaflet from Pure Cremation. Hopefully that isn’t a sign!
-
I am interested in how the actual result would come out in comparison with the poll. Not that a bunch of mostly middle aged/old white blokes on a footy forum make up an average demographic! Anyway, the Ugly have got one so if it’s good enough for them…
-
I said tens of millions are sick of the Tories. You’ve never really understood English have you?
-
Who do you intend to vote for?
-
Maybe the tens of millions of people sick to death of 14 years of misrule by a variety of Tory PMs with differing levels of incompetence?
