Unrelated query - does anyone know what time the players generally arrive on 3pm matchdays? Daughter keen on getting a shirt signed, but i don't want to hang around for hours ideally! Guessing 1pm ish? Thanks for any input.

Didn’t they do this for a while? Sure I remember it being an option.

Honestly can’t remember as it depends on what’s happening any given weekend plus I know it’s a case of “day 1 - ST + 10 aways. Day 2 - ST + 9 aways” etc. As for this season, my daughter now has a ST with me at SMS for the first time, so it’s not going to be quite that simple….i’d want to take her with me ideally.

A harmonious home life doesn’t allow it sadly. If i was at football every weekend it wouldn’t end well!

I totally understand the argument, and commitment people make. Just think a ballot would be a great way to give all ST holders the chance to go. This system hasn’t been in place that many years has it? Can’t even remember.

Fair enough - but then it comes down to basically spending every single weekend at football, if you got to all home games. Not sure what the argument is to not have a ballot, other than “loyalty”. Sure loads of people would at least like the chance to attend away games, young and old.

I’ve had my season ticket, the same seat, since SMS opened. I used to attend away games when I could too. If you are talking loyalty then would that trump someone who has had his ST for a year and then done a load of aways?

Do you know how often away tickets become available to those who have not had 5-10 from the previous season? Maybe 2-3 cup games? The following season, how many then go on sale to those who’ve been to (say) 3 away games the previous season? Does it ever get that low? So I could get to 2-3 cup games and still not get an away ticket the following season.

I get the loyalty and rewarding the regular away attendance thing and of course I understand that argument. First come first served, of ballot would open up away games on a fairer basis I would think. Resigned myself to never having a decent away day again…cup or play off final aside.

Why can’t they just do a ballot for away games?

Provided we absolutely pull another teams pants down on the fee, absolutely.

To be honest, weather looks cracking so be nice to watch some football with a cold beer or two regardless. So long as my daughter doesn't spend the whole time asking me questions and lets me watch the game...

Went to iow festival last year, and much preferred it to Glastonbury. Mind you the year I went (and only one day) the bands were shite!

More players who have can offer the odd assist but not much else? Think the game's moved on a bit since those days.

You can still go missing in games and provide assists.....

That'll more than compensate - didn't buy the tickets for that reason anyway, but it's great to have an uber keen daughter who wants to go to as many games as she can. Just rewatching Welcome to Wrexham (S1) due to the opening fixture, and i think she's slowly realising just how important football clubs are to the supporters.....and how many of us live for match day. Maybe not as much as i used to!

So if we had a top player on loan who was incredible, but we all knew it was just a loan, no one would be upset that they didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t stay on?

Fair enough. Certainly don’t recall the fact he was returning from his loan spell as a nightmare and the fan base up in arms. Looked good in parts last season I thought but was anyone gutted he wasn’t staying on when we went up?

Didn’t Brooks look awesome on his debut for us and then do bugger all most of the time after that?

Need to put a marker down and smash the tv brigade on the opening day. Should absolutely be going out to hammer them.
