I reckon if you seriously quizzed Woy as to the exact reasons for RBs omission he wouldn't be able to give you any. Although that's probably because there aren't any. Jesus wept.

Sadly even if we picked our best players in the correct position it still won't make them our national side technically good enough to compete with even the most average of international teams. It'll always end up with us punting the ball forwards in the hope it'll lead to something rather than passing our way to goal scoring positions. IMO of course.

Terrible overall selection once again....from our point of view, Bertrand an integral part of the best defence in the PL but still can't get in. Why can't the England hierarchy see what the rest of us can see? I hope one day to genuinely enthuse about our national team.

Thought Swansea defended excellently, a game plan that worked. If you're then going to keep backing off Shelvey, the inevitable will happen. And did. Final ball was generally woeful. Can't really complain about the result, a classic smash and grab win.

At this rate we might need Shhhteve McLaren in to help as an interpreter.

Surely these guys know (Clyne apart) that they won't get the same game time or a guaranteed start if they move to a "bigger" club, and their careers could nosedive. When you're on £30-£50k per week is another £10-20k per week really worth that? Just don't get it.

He wasn't great, but Clive Tyldesley is far worse and I've no idea how he has made a career out of commentating. He's one of the main reasons I can't stomach ITV coverage.

We all know what a dive is, as would a panel of so-called experts so if they've dived for a penalty a 5 game ban or 3 game ban if outside the area. Would soon stop it, but then so would sending a player off as soon as they swear at the ref or lino but that won't happen either. And why on earth can't they make the playing advantage rule as per rugby? Leave play for 10-15 seconds and if no obvious advantage bring play back for a free kick. Really not that difficult. Off topic I appreciate so apologies.

So he stays on Liverpool's bench until retirement.....or (were it an option, which I don't think it will be) he comes back to us and regains fitness, form and game time with the possibility of this being noted by Brenda and thus giving him another fair crack at first team football with the scousers. I don't think SRL is stupid enough to be happy with warming the bench with the odd cup start or impact substitution until he retires, just because they're his boyhood club. Regardless of where (and if) he goes surely playing the game is still what he'd want over misty eyed sentiment towards LFC. Just my Xmas eve opinion.

Great all round performance - the other ST holders around us thought a draw would be good just for morale purposes, but a tireless performance all round. Reed excellent, gritty and played the simple pass every time. Not fazed at all.
