  1. I'm resigned to relegation now , it's difficult to keep hoping . A bit like England rugby . Still I will always hope for Southampton to win in any league we end up in .
  2. Not sure if it was the idea of a lower standing person having an affair with the lady or the description of anal sex that made them want to ban the book . As usual everyone then had to read it to see what the fuss was about ! As far as I remember it was a pretty crap book apart from pages 65 to 71 😆
  3. Yes not much chance of abuse ending any time soon unless you live in a dictatorship . Twitter has already got worse since Musk took over and sacked loads of staff . The one thing that would make a change , not necessarily for the better , would to make the firms responsible for what is published like the rest of media .
  4. Man Utd not appealing against the red card , they must have watched the slow motion replay !
  5. Yes that did come out wrong ……
  6. KWP comes across as a well balanced person and is probably used to this totally unfounded abuse . Top player for Saints .
  7. It could be that being a bit different , or on the spectrum like us engineer types , means that was made him a fantastic footballer doing things that no one expected. Didn’t feel the need to run around in training or get on with fellow ‘nutters’ like Hoddle . Unlike Lineker he’s got nothing to lose apart from his reputation and it’s so long ago not that many are aware of that.
  8. It is because of late accounts , their excuse is the new accountant firm taking longer than usual. So possibly not a major issue ??
  9. Glad we got the point , would have been a bit depressing if we lost to 10 men . No Motd to check how bad our goal misses were !!
  10. I agree with you about Lineker but Le Tissier spoils his own arguements by embelishing them with conspiracy therories culled from the internet . I also have met him and he seemed a good bloke but it's a shame he has gone down this social media route .
  11. LeTiss doesn’t really have any real points to make , just some poor me moaning and making nonsense insinuations about GL . GB news is all you need to know. GL could of made his point without any ref to 30s Germany , the “stop the boats” failed policy in Oz would have been a better reference and more relevant .
  12. You couldn’t make it up really 😄
  13. They thought they could strike a deal , I think , but ran out of time so probably will have to bring Boris in for a small fee tomorrow.
  14. Amusing to see the wheels come off PSG again , how long before the owners sell up or are they doomed to repeat the same each season.
  15. Ralph did ok but like with nearly all managers , once they’ve tried everything and it is not working and when the manager is showing signs of strain it’s time to leave . Plenty of examples in the prem so far !
  16. True , first goal defender obstructed DeGea while making no challenge/block allowing Gakpo to pass into the net . United were being overrun in midfield , lack of support from attackers , well Martial plus Fernandes , plenty of men back but failing to clear the ball while Everything came off for Liverpool ! De Hag failed to sub Martial or seem to change tactics .
  17. The only clips I saw of him when he signed were of him having first time shots to score , he seems to have problem with his coordination these days never striking the ball cleanly. It could be in his head or just the lack of coordination , his goals were described as scuffed shots on here when he signed so perhaps the latter !
  18. From Motd Arsenal and Bournemouth a great game , both sides had other good chances to score as well . That last minute winner a bit of a killer for Bournemouth though.
  19. Having done my knee in school days football I wince everytime players do a knee slide , he looked like his technique was wrong and got some twist on his knee . I just think why do they do that ? My knee has never been 100% since
  20. How long before ‘playing out from the back’ becomes history in football ? Our attempt v Grimsby was woeful.
  21. Brady donating £9k of WHU’s money to Conservatives when Liz Truss was fleetingly PM along with NUFC chairman being a member of Saudi govt despite them claiming no one associated with Saudi regime has anything to do with NUFC .
  22. Redmond had good spells as well , overall didn't score enough and passed back too often but that may be what he was told to do so it became the norm !
  23. He has played well for Saints , looked a better option than Forster by actually making saves . Distribution a weak point but it's fair to say after periods of looking good he did tail off like most GKs at Saints , not sure if that's because the defence was so bad he lost confidence or injury etc .
  24. Ronaldo giving the wink to show his acting had paid off caused the general ill feeling I think !
  25. It had the feel of an upset before the game confirmed with the team selection , then the old trying to play out from the back routine that broke down in other half of the pitch . There were a few hopeful signs with the offside goal but the warning signs were there with a few Grimsby break aways . I tried the trick of extending my half time break , expecting to restart to find Saints at least on level terms but that backfired ! AA once again looked to be trying , all going well until the final ball which was always an overhit pass or over long cross , I thought he was supposed to be a striker ie getting on the end of final passes being his 'strength' Without a team of good players threading their way through the opposition I would have thought a faster direct assault forward is required before their defence is all back in position waiting for the breakdown .
