I am enjoying Motd these days as watching the Saints match is uplifting . I don’t always agree with the pundits , Shearer is a bit Newcastle focused but he has improved over the years . The game analysis is usually informative and fills in the bits I’ve missed. I was confused by Jenas’s comment about Ralph , managers constantly comment on the other teams negative or dirty play so why not their problems . post match comments have been censored for years and I usually ff through them , no one can hint at anything dissing the prem .

There must be some rule as most screens do this

It was said before that other teams had sussed our tactics out so just had to weather the early storm and catch us on the break or from one of our corners etc

Although Utd were crap defending and couldn't be bothered to press or run back etc they did create chances . We can thank Perraud for covering the goal line when Ronaldo had a shot early on !

I repeat , new owners giving players stability and hope for the future staying at Saints . Thought of new money bringing in players means they have to make sure they look undropable .

Well this came about because clubs held players registration and didn't play them . If they still didn't give in the clubs stopped paying them . So no income and you couldn't play for another club as the original club held their registration. This sort of behaviour led to the Bosman ruling after years of litigation .

Watched The Big Match today at lunchtime on ITV4 , Saints v Fulham ‘76 4-1 to Saints , George Best red card for foul language to ref ! Quite a few heavy tackles by Saints on Rodney Marsh and others .Osgood , Mcdougal , Channon etc for Saints . McDougal and Mel Blyth ? Scored. 2 each . Ted’s goals excellent and Mel’s both headers well taken. Alex Stock moaning about fouls by Saints and no bookings whereas Fulham got several in the book . Worse than foul language !!

VAR is much worse than the issue it was supposed to deal with . Most of these incidents now wouldn't even been thought of as a problem before as no one had seen the offence/thought there was one several phases before the goal . In alot of cases play has moved on and no player has appealed so the game has flowed , now they can't just score they have to hang around for 5 mins before the game is restarted . Major review needed after this season , not just tnkering .

Actually I have regularly over the last 20 years , parts of it are ok . There is a lot of history , the main industry was coal mining and engineering . As you say there is the night life , good if you like stag / hen parties ! It is not a rich city . The centre is being developed but office blocks are springing up now . It can be icy cold esp with a NE wind off the north sea , each to their own but it won’t attract top prem players like a magnet 😋
