It is all a question of money as usual , Sky see another opportunity to attract new subscribers while the BBC has been saddled with paying for the World Service ( which was paid for by the Foreign Office as part of UK soft power but for some reason Thatcher wanted rid of it altogether) and DWP paid for over 75 licences as a benefit as their state pension is a bit of a joke . Thus the BBC gets all the flak for stopping over 75 licences and the BBC can't afford mens football games . BTW it was sort of good to see the European cup final for free but it should be anyway , even if the french tried to recreate Heysel/Hillsborough for the 21st century.

Quite , which is why I wondered if he could be coached to be if he had a team of top players around him !
-
Newcastle …..

If JWP was snapped up it could be good for Saints if that gave them funds and wage room to change the team . If he went to be a bench warmer or crashed and burned it would be such a waste . Could he be developed into defence splitting mid like Eriksen ?
-
Ralph , he's top of the league 😊
-
Unfortunately it was so borderline we missed it , plus I don't belive in miracles , pius if a miracle was performed other managers would see that miracle and out miracle St Ralph of the lack of crosses .

Fortunately I watched Today at the Test before checking in on the football ! even so I gave up just before half time . It was a bit like watching Saints except I didn't care so much that they had a rubbish defence , no penetration ,even when they did break they ran out of steam before getting near the goal . Not sure what this "tournament " is for or does esp in a WC year . As for the players I think part of the problem is the number of English players playing in the Prem , it must be a bit of a shock to play without your usual world class foreign players .

I remember him scoring 42 goals in a season inc cup games (I think !)
-
As I saw it he knew his days were limited due to his injury problems and wanted a last retirement move . Viila changed managers and Steve G didn't play him much . I don't think Saints would take him back now , esp after the Walcott mistake . Ings did well at Saints and I didn't want him to go but he made his choice and he can sit tight for 2 seasons to collect his money .

That went well 😄
-
Makes him a surefire Saints signing , 6 months of recovery followed by some good and bad matches before being moved on ....

looked like a load of dead horses being flogged in a pointless competition , roll on a ridiculous world cup held at the wrong time of year . Time for players revolt before the game is ruined for ever. See Rugby to see where it's going , soon be franchise American style sports , 22 players constantly changing places on the pitch during a 3 hour game . A new definition of closed doors , once the ground id 60% full close the doors .

Not forgetting the hologram on genuine tickets as per banknotes .
-
The fans say at pre stadium check points only a visual check was done before they were allowed to progress to the turnstiles. It was only at the turnstile that the tickets were put under the scanner and rejected , could be forgery or could be scanner not reading the code . Either way the truth won’t come out until blame has been apportioned months down the line . It has been said that the local boys had been mugging pool fans for their tickets etc as well as climbing over the perimeter fences to get in .

I don’t think Duckenfield should have been the fall guy at all . The club , local council , football authorities , should have shouldered the blame . No safety certificate , previous episodes , crap stadium with no crowd control people could just keep coming in to the stadium . No appreciation of fans being jammed against the fence and refusing to open the escape doors were the fault of the Police but in those days containment was the default response , so last night still had the same issues in a way re the Football authorities and the police responce.

I was watching that game , it went on and on with no real explanation . The players were allegedly not told of any deaths . The excuse was that to abandon the game would lead to worse violence. Although the Liverpool fans were guilty of unnecessary violence which caused 39 deaths the fact that Heysel , a dilapidated small stadium was chosen to host a final was a major factor . The 5 year ban was their answer to blame the fans and not take any responsibility. Hillsborough was a culmination of having no safety certificates , ignoring previous crush incidents and a Police Chief in charge of his first big match . The usual press backed up the Police lies to blame the supporters and to this day no one has paid the price apart from the 96 and their families. I think the die was cast by Heysel for the Liverpool fans. I still find them irritating .

The fake ticket story that is the football authorities excuse was put in perspective by the Liverpool player Robertson who gave an official ticket to his mate . His mate was told at the turnstile it was a fake ! It’s possible after Heysel that they are very wary of Liverpool fans ?

Is Salisu overrated and is Bednarek unfairly blamed?

Perhaps they could watch the Real defence in the cup final every day before training , could pick up a few tips 😀 -
RM ball control excellent tonight , somehow just get that extra touch to evade tackle or get a pass in.
-
So VAR is useless in all competitions not just the Prem !
-
The allocated turnstiles were opened and then closed several times but not letting people through apparently , difficult to understand why .
-
Oh when the reds …. What happened to ynwa ?

Couldn’t recognise his voice , he sounds like a caricature 😄
