The old build from the back plus wing backs was the way , perhaps it’s been worked out by other teams so a new style required . Pep moved on to no central striker but has found that a good one works well . So new era for all is the big central striker who is mobile and is in the right place up front , not defending half the match.

I seem to remember , more than once , 5 or so Saints defenders around the 6 yd area while the only attacker heads in a goal from a cross/corner.

Watching Saints under Puel was awful most of the time in the end it just petered out with no goals being scored . Watching Saints under Ralph is going the same way at the moment , so bad I couldn't watch the Villa game .

I mean that the players have been instructed to play in a certain way which seems to involve playing safe , sideways and back etc rather than risking going forward at pace. Players out of position , playing a system that they don’t seem to have much faith in . Driving the fans to despair , rarely scoring goals . Not having settled team , pointing the finger at the players when we lose again.

I think because the Prem matches are spread over 3 or 4 days usually if say Fri & Sat are pp then they would claim unfair as it would leave Sun/mon teams without the same fixture congestion later etc . They prob thought it was easier / fairer to pp the whole weekend and not get VAR involved ! They are prob now sweating on when the funeral will be etc.

You have overlooked Henry VIII who saved us from the pope as well as the rule that no king or queen can be a catholic . In 2013 members of the royal family in the line of succession could marry a catholic as well as female members being allowed to take their place in the line . The king or queen cannot still be a catholic as the post involves being head of the church of England so hats off to Henry and Elizabeth of old .

Non league rely on gate money to survive , changing a weekend game to mid week will cost them , unnecessary to for their games to be called off at such short notice .
