  1. Positives - Bazunu, the whole back line apart from Manning, Downes and Alcaraz. Negatives - Manning, Smallbone both poor again, Mara useless when he came on. Don't think Martins subs helped things. Gritty performance. Really liking the look of Bednarek and THB as a partnership.
  2. It's a bit tricky to compare them because they are different players. Armstrong is better at finishing but isn't as physical or as good at linking the play. Armstrong upfront on his own constantly failed because his all round game wasn't good enough. Likewise Che struggled because he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Would you want either player to be your striker if we made it back to the prem? I certainly wouldn't.
  3. I agree that he's a confidence player but to say that we didn't give him a run in the premier league isn't true. He played 53 matches over two seasons and looked very average. Granted the team wasn't performing which wouldn't have helped. There is more time and space in this league and it's clear the defending isn't as good.
  4. This is his level. Also looks better when playing more as an inside forward rather than an out and out striker.
  5. Anyone else think that Fraser is a bit useless? Apart from his cameo against QPR he has offered nothing. Edozie looks much better to me and would rather see SAA given more opportunities.
  6. I've been very critical of the manager etc the last few weeks, but how was that win lucky?
  7. It's much better to lose a game 6-0 but out pass the opposition. That is the stat that people will remember, not how many goals we score.
  8. Well, there we have it confirmed. Martin does not care about the outcome of the game. Absolutely brilliant that.
  9. I certainly stopped believing Manji a long time ago
  10. Yep in the position that suits him best. He can press the opposition high up the pitch and there's less defensive responsibility on him because he has two deeper midfielders behind him.
  11. He has a big issue with diving to that side of the goal. Surely the coaches should be working on that with him? Or is that something that he'll never be able to improve?
  12. Manning and Holgate have been gash so running out of options. Either this or KWP on the left and Bree on the right.
  13. Bazunu; KWP, THB, Bednarek, Larios; Charles, Downes, Alcaraz; Edozie, Arma, Adams.
  14. Alcaraz was good against Norwich but struggled against QPR. Funny that Smallbone gets picked every week despite being crap.
  15. This bloke is sounding just as bad as Nathan Jones now. Bullshitting to the fans who can see he is lying with their very own eyes. This is all on Sports Republic though. Hiring another manager using possession stats instead of his actual record which is extremely average.
  16. I'm sure he'd rather be on the pitch trying to make a difference you fucking melon.
  17. I suppose the worry is that if he's been brought in to change the culture then adopting tactics that leave us incredibly vulnerable to conceding goals and losing games isn't exactly the best way to go about it. Despite what he says, I imagine that he was hoping the players would've adapted quicker than they have.
  18. Let's be honest pal, as far as 1-0 wins for an away side go, it was one of the most comfortable you're likely to see. We literally created 1 clear chance. Just not good enough at home against who should be an inferior opposition.
  19. We didn't, it's basically just that Ipswich aren't as good at scoring goals as Leicester or Sunderland are.
  20. Indeed. Stu Armstrong put in some cracking corners on Tuesday evening. Our players were nowhere near them. We must be one of the worst teams in the country for attacking and defending corners.
  21. Yep, they've lost virtually all of their goals. Until Saturday when we let their keeper have a free run through our midfield...
  22. Apart from the cameo against QPR, Fraser has been pretty average so far. Sulemena has been poor on the ball in the last two games but you still get the feeling he could make something happen. I know Martin doesn't see him as a wide player but I wouldn't be against putting Stu out wide to start with. It's a shame that Martin made A.Armstrong captain as it means he's nailed on to start every game, when in reality he should be nowhere near the starting 11. Bazunu; KWP, Bednarek, THB, Manning; Charles, Downes, Alcaraz; Stu, Edozie, Adams.
  23. Just watching Leicester Vs Norwich. Leicester seem much more comfortable passing it around than we do. The player on the ball always seems to have someone available to pass to and there isn't a huge gape between their defence and midfield. It's as if Martin is just doing things to try and be different, when in reality it's just an over-complicated mess.
  24. Whilst I understand the point you are trying to make, I just don't like the set up. You can play a possession based game without inverting the full backs (from what I've seen it makes it harder for the CBs to pass the ball because they have no one to pass it to and it clogs up the middle of the pitch) and playing such weak personnel in central midfield.
  25. Yeah it was really odd. Also it's rather odd why Martin keeps taking Edozie off when it seems like he's the only one that is going to make something happen.
