I heard Hull have made an offer to buy Wellbeck, if we buy Long for 12 m and they get Wellbeck for 5m more they will be quids in. i suggest we phone OT now and get him.

Don't take any notice, your points are valid
  5. I suspect most of the players would have stayed if they saw the club on an upward curve.Sadly they saw a popular manager go and Reed and KRueger (a football manager does less than a hockey coach lol ) take the reins. Whilst most players are not bright they do know when the mood swings. NC may not have kept all the players but I suspect most fans would feel had he be left in place the club would be in a rosier position
  6. Exactly, the extension and higher wages increase our position regarding the transfer fee.
  7. I thought I read somewhere on here in an article that KL refused to sell the club to NC when he came back to try and buy it

If Pelle and JRod (when fit) are our main strikers then It is even more weird to pay 12mill for a bench warmer

I am not over the moon about signing him but if he joins so be it, he is one of us but 12m I would have been amazed at 6m. if people had said let's go for Long at 8m in May they would have been laughed off here. People's opinions have been moulded to the positive as it is a signing. I don't see how Kruegers words of we will be in a stronger position at the start of September is going to happen. I would not have swapped Long for RL +8 m, in fact. I would not have done a straight swap
  10. Is that the Everton we are following, who kept their star young players and also added a 23m striker?
  11. decent coach, and will help QPR.
  12. Im told a Nigerian has charged them 100k for a ring fence

thats my feeling. Not a bad player just paying over the top.We must have the oldest front 2 in the league.Hopefully their experience will tell.

Well if so what's the point of our much publicised scouting network all over the world? May as well close that down as we don't seem to be able to find gold out there. I'm sure Koeman licked his lips in anticipation when we told him to come to Southampton and buy 27year old journeymen for 12m. Long is a decent player, but the price tag will weigh him down in many fans eyes and we will expect plenty back from him. Sell your family silver for good money and then buy chrome plate for solid silver prices, madness. The folly of our buying strategy this summer is comedy genius
  15. I would be happy for. Long to join as a squad player, but 10m! Iam sure there are plenty of players we could have bought of the same quality for half that a few months back. In fact I'd prefer the Watford lad
  16. Long for 10m certainly takes the edge off what we got for our players. IF we do sign him for a figure around that price then those apologists who thought Saints didn't need to buy before we sold must feel a tad foolish. All clubs know we are desperate for players and now will double their expectations. Amateur in our strategy IMO
  17. Well 60m contributed to the CUp Win and so I can believe it. Probably 2000 of the clubs suppliers were not paid
  18. he has a choice it depends how far he wants to go. I get the impression that. MS is more intelligent than most footballers and can see he may ruin his reputation and even future. I expect that if he has had a change of heart the club have given him the green light for a move in Jan
  19. that's correct, although at first it seemed we were. We had. The war. Chest that was spoken about before the sales let alone the transfer money. I expect us to get another couple in before the window shuts,
  20. Difficult to write him off yet. Iam sceptical but I. Recall all the fans saying RL was not up to it. In fact I will always remember a fan on the Northam screaming at RL what a lazy fat so and so he was (he had scored about 15goals for us that season at that stage) and then scoring the winner. I notice McGoldrick is back after his bad ankle injury, to think the abuse he got when he was just 17or18. I hope he really does well in the future
  21. I'm fairly certain it was the Archers end, left hand post. The spurs fans wouldn't know which end was called in those days.
  22. My brother was trapped when the fall fell. I remember the stick Dineage took as he had to walk in front of the saints fans to a gantry
  23. I wonder what our win ratio was when Wanyama and Lovren played? Lovren gave inspiration and confidence all around him. His value to us was far more than 20m and in time that will dawn on the powers that be what a mistake caving into his demands were.
  24. i know who is building Jrods website, it must be going live anytime soon.No doubt they are setting up the Twitter as well
