they may have soem redundant property unable to be let but over £2bn worth Lol. The property that was mentioned in the report in Christchurch had been empty for years and years, i recall 20 years. That is some bit of business that has cost the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds alone. It is easy to point the finger at the government about cuts but I suggest that the NHS should take on the job of making the animal more streamlined and not expect a year on year increase in budget to sate the demand for more money. Get the house in order first, then spend that.

copying the Man city fans celebrating is naff. It's a stupid thing anything way. I don't want to go to a football match to have an unchosen part of the great un-washed putting their arms around my shoulders thank-you very much. Even holding that card up before the wallsall game became a bit of a chore

that's the trouble BTF. you defend the indefensible. There was national coverage regarding the block of offices in Christchurch that are empty and still have a lease for (it was stated)another 50 years. There has been no attempt to try and sub-let. Then there is also offices in Southampton that are empty that rent is being paid on. I assume the NHS pay rates as well, no doubt they are on full repairing leases. The item also stated that the NHS also own property worth over 2bn that is empty. The defence was that if all the property was sold it would mean the prices would be poor (that never stopped dear Old Gordon selling the gold). The NHS is not a property company and so some could be sold to help the squeeze, but it is easier to send out soundbites about the loss of nurses doctors etc rather than the managers have the hardship of sifting through old leases and checking exactly what property the trusts are paying out for and how to best dispose of any redundant assets. i would not expect all property to be sold but do not tell me all is needed. as for the managers who signed off these long leases without get out clauses, i suspect are sunning themselves on the beaches of Spain etc and moaning that their pensions are not getting them as far as they had hoped.

The NHS is a monster that needs the costs looking at . i doubt many would disagree. The empty property scandal that the NHS is paying for is madness. These are the wasteful things that do your brain in. The managers who signed the leases off will now be retired on final salary index linked pensions, while the nation toils to pay for it. That is what the man in the street gets annoyed about IMO

remember the Peter Sellers film being there? he was a bumbling gardener who said strange things and was misunderstood as being brilliant and was made president. Is that not AG? he rambles on and people make out that he is a mastermind. Lol

The parachute payments then will give the teams coming down a massive advantage. It is a very complex issue. There is only one way and that is to not give points penalties but do what was done Salisbury, a 2 division drop. that would focus the minds of directors.

Lennon has obviously done things to really rile people. WGS never had the problem and all the others before that. Lennon has inflamed the situation himself and I can only assume things went on when he lived in Ireland

is this what they have beaten us to? http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/developing/futsal/index.html

i agree I thought they left a caveat todo so, but as the old club has been wound up where can they go?

i have no faith in the legal system regarding football after the way Pompey have got away with it. HR will do the same and still the media's darling will be England manager.
-
the defeats have never worried me, they didn't hurt like I thought they would. The FA cup one was unfortunate as it meant them going on to the cup final and giving them much needed income
-
depressing reading that, and points to the fact you now expect Pompey to be saved by them. A cat only gets nine lives , that lot!!!!

my understanding was that players like Gobern were not old enough to go on the trip and so Ox would also not go

it cant be said now that SMS does not create a great atmosphere
OldNick replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
i sit in the Northam and recognise that that part of the ground generates a lot of noise but when I have been in the Itchen it is not heard as the away fans drown it out. Notice how a lot of clubs put the away fans on the side of the ground so that the support is nullified. If we could move the away support to blocks 2-3 some would still be able to be next to the away support , if that is so necessary but we would have a whole end of fans singing the team to victory. I just dont get the need to be next to the away fans, especially if they are able then to outsing the home fans. -

I agree but therev has been a train of thought since SMS has been opened that it does not produce the atmosphere the Dell did. I do not agree. -
LB injury was a blessing in disguise as we looked a better team with DC in the side. I expect neither will be first choice next season.

In all the years of going to watch Saints there are only a handful of really standout atmospheres. Saturday was one of the best. The Dell had its own unique feel but i have now experienced 3 or 4 at SMS to match the good old Dell. Norwich relegation season, twice against the Skates and now Saturday's game. The myth is buried that SMS is soulless IMO. Also lets now move the away fans to block 2+3 and have the whole of the northam as a home end.
