I feel the same way but the perseption is different. With wall to wall news parents don't let thier kids on the streets, drive them to school in case a bogey man is around. i went to school by myself and amtes , never driven and that was just after Hindley and brady had been doing thier terrible crimes....although i do remember my mum and dad leaving me on the Moors and tel;ling me to try and find some friends

Is that correct?? I thought he has sympathies to the BNP but that does neccessarily make him rascist. The trouble is so many people just put a broad brush over these things. The BNP obvioulsy do suit a lot of peoples opinions and like any of the ultra left wing parties they have a right to voice their opinions. One thing that has always amused me is that the Socialists stand up for freedoms but are the most likely to call for that same thing to be taken away from their opponents. They believe they are right, when if you really think about it all animals first thought is survival for themselves and children first, not the greater good.

Crime figures may show a fall but I think the population dont feel as safe. It is a perseption, add to that, that many crimes do not get reported as the Police dont tun up or show lack of interest. Example in my own business, a person came into my busiess and snatched an item of value , my wife chased him (fortunately she did not catch him) whilst in pursuit she called the Police. they never turned up and we are still waiting. Much pettty crime is not reported and I suggest vandalism etc also. You do realise that a police officer giving out a speeding ticket is put down as a solved crime, and added to all the figures. We as a population are bombarded with facs and figures that are distorted to suit whoever. No politician tells it as it is, and my biggest criticism of the Liberal would be his constant mention of honesty to both Cameron and brown.

Thanks as well, what a great bunch we have on here.

I take that back then VFTT

Thanks BTF, i did realise about the PVC thingy, and know you can't use those. It would be so easy if so, but im not out to destroy our heritage, especially as my business is about conserving it.
-
Superb start thanks. It would be ideal if someone from here had a company that did it. The Totton 1 does ring a bell as I lived that way 10years or so ago.

and that's from somebody who voted Labour, once could be seen as a msitake (even Brown admitted to one) but 2 or 3 times and you think Im not very bright Lol

Thanks

Can anyone recommend a good joiner/joinery company as Im looking into costings re a Grade 2 listed farmhouse I may offer on. Most of the the windows need replacing (17) (some are Crittle steel, hideous) and I wanted a ball park price. Each one is obviously custom made as the sizes are all different..

At least Boom and bust was a thing of the past .........ohhh

The figure in the SOA could not have been plucked out of the air . Was it 78m then I can't recall exactly as so many changes in the debt seem to be published

I think it has gone up over 400% since Brown used his clever fiscal mind to sell. To sell is one thing but to sell the lot in 1 go is a nonsense. That is why he cant understand how you can get at government waste. If he flet the need to sell then, quietly in small amounts, that way the market did not have a glut and so prices fall further4...not that you need telling.

It's ok Dune VFTT has trouble conveying his arguement without turning to abuse. Frankly I understand as Im sure I infuriate him and many others at times. It is what debating and the form is about....I thought so anyway.

Thanks BTF. I think that the poll is quite a fair reflection, although I did think Brown was the biggest loser. Clegg did well and some of his policies sound good. I woulod welcome that people under 10k a year were tax exempt, but I doubt his plan to raise the money is possible. The people he talks about taking it from are mobile in where their funds go and so the money would just flow out to a safe haven.Cutting the public sector (by having a wage freeze) is alos interesting.

I haven't bought a paper for a few years, they only wind things up. Even the BEEB doesn't seem impartial any longer (if ever it really was) I find it interesting watching different news channels on sattelite and seeing the different slant they take on each story, including CNN Al Jazeera Russian Tv etc for world events

I notice there also seems to be a emphasis on making the young players who come through the system 'more rounded' Perhaps we are hoping that they will be less likely to be in clubs drinking and staying out late, like so many of the footballers in the recent past.

Probably used to get the loans in!!
-
Is that a promise? I do hope you are right. Spurs having an off day put a spanner in the works.
-
That could well be correct
-
Not very bright I agree, but bright enough not to ever voted for Brown. A man who admits he made a mistake in not regulating the banks which has in turn cost us as a nation the biggest deficit of all of our competitors. Go back a couple of years and see how I and few of others were warning people the wheels were going to fall off. Not only Vince cable was warning about the economy...and I can say i was warning about it before he was. I notice you are taking the Pompey thread very seriously, lol has your prediction come to pass yet? Mine has been closest so far, as they are getting away with it.

How many are changing their vote from last time?

Oh it's the employers who are the baddies. lol I doubt not one of the employees ever took a sickie when they were not entitled to or spent the time on the web instead of working or texting etc etc etc -
That is fair comment, although i suspect a lot of people who would never have thought of vting for them may have changed their minds a bit this week

Some of the gold still had the assay marks from the Queen Anne period. it has been OUR wealth and heritage for hundreds of years and he sold it for peanuts and it is now in the vaults of the Chinese and Indians
