i would agree except for the fact that they are 'sleeping giants' remember

the 90 minutes of 22 men kicking a bag of air ended with both set of chappies placing the ball into the opponents netting twice each. As both sets of 11 men wished to play further games in this wonderful world famous competition it was decided that if there was no outright winner during the alloted 90 minutes of attempting to place the ball of air into a hole between two posts then the competition would carry on. The pre agreed way to settle this jest was that a set number of players would place the bag of wind at a pre ordained distance from the 2 upright posts and kick on goal. The oposition would be able to have one of their players in the way to attempt to stop the bag of wind going between the uprights, if required he is able to use his hands. The set of men who managed to fulfill this task the most often would be declaed winners.

I think they should rub off Liverpools and Man u name off the past european cups if that was the case and both teams have the trophy for 6months. Also Norwich and us should play 1 leg each of the area final, ....but who should play the all important 2nd leg? should it go to penalties to see

OB, I havent the inside to all this but if it is correct as i take it that the club asked the Echo not to go public, then it is courtesy to observe that. I suspect both parties will get over it, but at present I think the club need the Echo less than the echo need the club.

there wil never be commentators of the like of Wolstenholme, Brian moore, David Coleman and Ron Jones.All spoke as true football lovers and actually commentated on the game. So many of the current onesw are sensationalist. The one who does ITV now is so bias. he seems to cream over the big clubs. ian Darke is a pompey fan but doesnt show that when he commentates on us.

No because the laws of the game and the agreement the outcome/winner is decided is that there is a replay if a winner is not decided in the first 90 minutes. In a one off deciding game then the winner was saints. Against Derby in the play off semi, we won the 90 minutes but lost the game

It does not give you the same satisfaction of winning in the initial 90mins I agree, but you have beaten your opponent within the agreed rules. I myself would rather the teams play until a goal is scored, even then that would not be within the 90mins.

Exactly, what a nonsense. Did Liverpool only draw the European cup or Germany etc not beat us in the Euro 's all those years ago??? What about when you let a goal in at 90+ 4 does that not count.
