The case is not about period of time but league status.Pompey are a sleeping giant , remember, they are in the top flight and are having to give tickets away!! I understand why with finances etc but as they are such a big outfit surely it is not unfair to question why they can only get 15k to turn up. PL ,top flight football, you are sleeping giants and should easily sell the tickets. It is no use pointing to costs of tickets as when we were in the PL our tickets were highly inflated compared to lower league clubs.

I remmeber pre the club shop across the road where they sold old programmes. I think also the club openly tried to embarrass Spurs when they owded us money from the shop by putting a big thing in the matchday programme when we played them. I still have my plates and mugs after the cup final win. Talking of silk scarves I have 3 or 4 in mint condition from the league cup final. Is it time for silk scarves to return , after all we do have a great interest in the 70's?

IMO they have 569 great fans, I wouldnt have gone up there. I have no problem with the hardcore Skates, whilst I dislike their utter hatred (I think that is stupid) they are no diffeent to our fans, as they are loyal to their city/club. In fact they are better than Man U fans from Southampton in my eyes. I spent decades being told by them when they were in the lower leagues about sleping giants and how they'd easily fill FP when its capcity was 36k if they were in the top flight.Frankly thy have been found out and it is not the case, they are Wigan of the South.

i think it is unfair on Lambert to say our attack is toothless. He is Beattie with a better footballing brain IMO. he needs somebody alongside him with a sharp brain and eye for goal.

It is all very difficult to pick what happened for sure.Fry initially impressed me but after hearing one or two things and how he seemed to stall then i made my thoughts clear on here that he was not very good in my eyes. It is now evident that the very professional people who bought the club feel somewhat the same.Add to that the exprience that Phil had and I would say we were lucky that Fry was saved by ML keeping his patience.If I was him Id have walked but it shows his commitment that he stayed the course. If ML's money was there waiting as was said the other night then LC in fact did us a disservice by helping that day.Not his fault of course as he I assume was doing what he thought best for the club.
