  1. Phil you are party to more info than most on here due to your advice given. There are some inteesting points you are alluding to. I still believe that Trousers post re Fry (barclays) who put us into administration then is part of begbies is something fans should not overlook. It was at best odd and to some would look like self interest being served rather than the business.
  2. A keeper who does all the things you crave would play in the CL not L1. Van der Sar and Reina are hardly prolofic in coming to catch the ball.Their advantage is they have some decent centre backs who dominate and so it is not a problem. That is where the problem is and has been for 5 seasons. We never replaced Killer and until we do we are not going to do any good.
  3. Yeah why in the hell was not Davis marking the goalscorer who was left unmarked, drop the keeper he must be at fault.Lol
  4. yet again I hear that from the commentators. We are lucky to have a decent keeper, time to get some centre backs
  5. he has done just about everything he has to do. Just about but forgetting pyutting some money across lol
  6. I have had 2 occasions to be not happy with TomTom customer services. They are doing a promotion where you get 20 or 30 cashback. My wife bought a TomTom 1 at Halfords on this offer. We then went on line to get the money refunded, after filling out the form it was then made a requirement to print the form off.Considering we dont have a printer connected to our laptop it was a massive inconvienience. If you dont have a computer you cant even get the form! I get annoyed filing out these forms anyway. So I sent an e-mail to customer services telling them I was unhappy, and the replyt back was from Niels at customer services saying read the terms and conditions on our website and it says you have to print it off. That was enough but then he put if you havent got a printer go to an internet cafe and do it.No sorry for your inconvienience or we'll put a form in the post. We have 2 tomtom products both are good but i will try Garmin next time.
  7. best intentions IMO is done when somebody does/says something to help the situation. In no way is it to jepodise or hurt in way. MLT was obviously approached and a scheme put to him, that in his limited experience seemed great.Wanting the club to survive he went with it. Iam going to avoid a long debate on MLT as it is not needed and you will get embroiled into a lot of nonsense.
  8. I had one but deleted the pic. Not my sort, blokes dressed in leather and chains, it takes all types i suppose
  9. also if they get the ball they get pressed, and so hoof it or pass the ball bakc to the keeper.
  10. IMO you are a poor judge if you would have had Bart. He lie Paul Smith Blayney flattered to deceive and even now it makes me laugh that some thought we should sell Niemi as we had those 2.Lol.As for throwing the ball out , i assume the coaches dont encourage it, and we havent a midfielder who is happy to take the ball from that part of the pitch. ps you have nt told me when KD was lobbed 5-6 times last season
  11. Phil Im hoping to get a copy of the forum DVD2 through the post. Have you yet organised to a copy through DrogBaj?

    Pompey crowd

thanks, but it doesnt mention how many they have sold
  13. I wouldn't replace him, I think you misinterpreted my post.
  14. In a relegation scrap players like Distin go awol. Mccann etc rol their sleeves up. Pompey are buying to stay up and then when they have they will spend to stay up again. They should be able to as there are some weak teams.Burnley surely are doomed so they have to beat 2others.
  15. mccann and ****tu are the type of players that will scrap to keep them up.Good buys if htey come off
  16. Do tell when he was lobbed 5 or 6 times? His distribution was good last season, and was good at picking out our forwards with his kicking. I assume you would rather we played Bart then
  17. did you take that from my post 3or 4 above you then MB? I heard it was to be him

    Lee Holmes

I asked the question to a friend at the club and he said LH had an injury. That may be the reason he did not play.I was hoping he would come on against Northampton but Oscar came on instead.
  19. fair comment
  20. we've been down this road before. If KD was not only good at what he is and all the other things that you believe he is not then he would be playing CL. A PL club thought he was good enough and so we should be very grateful he stayed with us and so should stop trying to make out there are problems when there are not.Football is different nowadays, the balls are not so easy to come and take, and attakers stop you coming for it. It is basic the reason why we look so poor at set pieces is that we havent addressed the centre back pairing for 5 years. A good pair of centre backs who atre good in the air and it is sorted. That is our basic weakness and until we grasp that nettle we will be forever moanoing about the keeper not taking crosses when really it should be our defenders sorting that. May i also point out that even Shilton and Niemi was not the best at coming for the ball.
  21. Dof= wgs
  22. NSS, I had a bit of banter with TL and he took it in good spirits. I dont play golf, but do wish the charity the best and hope agaqin it makes plenty of money. Pinnacle could have cost us our survival, we had a very close escape and for a time we were made to look ridiculous and one of our all time heroes was almost mightily wounded by it.Thankfully MLT has come out of it almost intact. Youi seem to be a decent person, but of course you also are a little wounded by your posts on here giving us hope and dreams that were never likely to come true.Sorry if I seem a tad acidic but the club means a lot to me
  23. Nineteen.Your point is valid, but the snipe as in 'lap of honour' IMO is not called for. MLT did it because he genuinely wanted to save the club.He was a talented footballer, but that did not make him a chairman with the financial or political accumen to do that, i agree. Lets not tar him for his best intentions, thankyou
  24. As you are such a great mate with TL surely you could use his contacts. I bet you had a great laugh after telling us what a great deal he had for us, and then going back to your Pompey friends and having a giggle. Good luck in your charity day though.
  25. Unlike you i dont do more than have a passing interest in my rival team. I didnt watch the cup final and so couldnt or wouldnt be able to name your team. On gates of less than 20k (forget not if you didnt have the star names you wouldnt get that high an attendance) you would not have afforded even the few high earners you did then. If it was so easy all the PL clubs would have these superstar internationals. So whilst Crouch or Defoe (he would have been on massive wages at that time as well even if cup tied) were not there you still bought the cup with the highly paid stars who would not have been afforded if you had to deal in the real world of balancing the books.
